- The relaxed vibe at the Uki Village Market, a.k.a Buttery Bazaar Market, in the small country village of Uki is a great reason to go on a day trip visit to this pleasant open air event. The stall holders, artisans and musicians set up their stalls and marquees around the grounds of the heritage listed former buttery factory. Other vendors are selling from within the buttery building. What you will find there is food, coffee, music, clothing, books, art and craft goods, second-hand items, jewellery and other flea market finds. / ukibutterybazaarmarket
The Uki Buttery Bazaar Market is held monthly on the third Sunday morning from 8 am - 2 pm. / ukibutterybazaarmarket
On the morning of my visit, the band, 'Rogue Elements' with Billy James, singer songwriter Bill Jacobi & Nick Churkin were giving a quality performance of some great numbers. I loved listening to the songs backed by flute, harmonica, drums, double bass, and banjo.
Uki is located on the Kyogle Road south of Murwillumbah town centre and about 40 minutes' drive from the Gold Coast Airport. It's 45 minutes from Australia's famous Byron Bay and 32 minutes from Nimbin. All of this Northern Rivers region is blessed with delightful lush scenery. The market and main street shops are sandwiched between Kyogle Road and the lovely Tweed River.
Worth mentioning also is the Uki Farmers Market held every week on Saturdays, 8 am till 12.30pm where fresh locally grown fruit, vegetables and other farm products are available. This market is held in the historic Uki School of Arts building in the main street. / ukifarmersmarket

I love it.. It reminds me of the Salamanca market in Tasmania ❤️
Afroawesome, I'm glad you enjoyed a reminder of Salamanca market. I've been to that one plenty of times when I lived in Hobart back in the 80's and early 90's. Thanks for commenting. :-)
Oh goodness this is beautiful. Thank you so much for this video. I used to come down every Sunday with my Grandparents after church and it's just the same. Oh it warms my heart to see so. The worlds changing so quickly and sometimes I think we're losing so much in the process.
Hi Alex. I'm so happy you like my Buttery Bazaar video. Thank you for sharing your feelings. :-)
Nice job, looks like a great bazar.
Totally missed Uki on our trip
Thanks for the wander
Thanks Sapphire Blue. Glad you enjoyed your wander. It's easy to miss things in this region. I keep discovering new ones. Making videos is a good way to get out of the house and learn about your area and further afield as well. Hope you are enjoying your travels too. :-)
Ahh so many memories 🥰 I used to live in Uki and Murwillumbah around 1999-2001.
At the Uki markets my sister, friend and I would paint small rocks with nail polish and walk around selling them at the market calling them lucky rocks haha. We were young and by the end of the day we'd end up with about $5ea and spend it all on lollies 😄
Thank you Jessica for commenting on my video. I’m glad it brought back happy memories of the market for you. 🙂
Great video and I love the markets, saw my friends on the video 😊

Diana, I can imagine the fond memories you have of Uki. Even I was emotionally moved when I wandered over the brick pavers at the entry to the school. Thanks for this comment too.
