Becoming a zombie in the first storyline & then being accidently killed by Raiden. Just take it in & put yourself in his position. Wouldn't you be just a little pissed off if you were him? His ending for this game also gives me chills everytime I see it. As you can tell, he's my favorite character from the series, Shaolin all the way.

These are the idiots who punished Shang Tsung for taking someone's soul by forcing him to take even more souls to survive which made him even more powerful which means it was more like a reward than a punishment for him. When they made Scorpion their champion in Deception they promised to bring the Shirai Ryu back to life but they brought them back as spectres like Scorpion himself instead of as the humans they'd been killed by Quan Chi as. They don't care about the realms or the people in them. They're just selfish cowards who only care about not being killed by The One Being which is the only reason they stopped Shao Kahn from merging the realms in MK9 because the merger would bring back The One Being and he'd kill them.
It's interesting how some of the dialogues are in the context of if Liu Kang was never killed by Raiden and still aligned with Earthrealm. Liu Kang: You enter the Dragon's Lair! Cassie Cage: Wow. Dork Alert! I get the feeling this is if Liu Kang had trained the team along with Johnny Cage.

If you are referring to his "proclivities" that is pretty vague as Kung Jin is also a thief prior to MKX (canon by the MKX comic) so Liu Kang might be referencing his tendency to work as a thief or a person who does ill-intended work than his homosexuality which was only found out by Raiden (he is one of Gods of Earthrealm) so it's understandable how he was able to deduce it while Liu Kang shouldn't know that unless he really abides by the "chastity" rules when in an Order of Monks. In MKX they’re intros sound exactly how I’d imagine 2 people getting into a fight would sound like. Now I just listened to Liu Kang’s intro dialogues in Mk11 and the vibe was nowhere NEAR this aggressive in that game. Not even with people he should supposedly hate. He sounded buddy buddy with Shao Khan for christ sake in MK11! This Liu sounds like he would simply say “Fuck You and prepare to die” and not even let Shao speak if he was in MKX. The changes are baffling.

Especially when the fight inevitably devolves deeper into carnage and bone-shattering violence by the final round. Liu Kang was a douche even in MK9. He was so arrogant he got pissed off when Raiden told him he wasn't the one who must win in his visions. And when all his friends except Johnny and Sonya died Liu Kang only cared about Kitana dying because he fancied her. He also accused Raiden of being insane and tried to stop him from letting Shao Kahn merge the realms even though it was the only way to get the Elder Gods to punish Shao Kahn. He got what he deserved when he was accidentally fried to death by both his own fireball and Raiden's lightning. He's the only revenant that deserves to stay that way IMO.

I'm really hoping but it most likely will not happen but I hope there is a story DLC at least that can fill in the plot hole on how everyone saves the last of the revenants because since they're evil in story mode and we don't even see old Liu Kang and old Kung Lao, why make them old and human in versus mode in the first place?
kavon brown the reason being so far, is that most of the characters that died have what if costumes. As in what if they didn't die/were revived i assume. Revenant costumes definitely have their own dialogues though.

I'm really hoping but it most likely will not happen but I hope there is a story DLC at least that can fill in the plot hole on how everyone saves the last of the revenants because since they're evil in story mode and we don't even see old Liu Kang and old Kung Lao, why make them old and human in versus mode in the first place?
kavon brown the reason being so far, is that most of the characters that died have what if costumes. As in what if they didn't die/were revived i assume. Revenant costumes definitely have their own dialogues though.
