Thank you for the tour of JoAnn's Helene, I couldn't believe how much beautiful yarn they had, I don't think I would have been able to resist. They have so much fabric also, I don't do anything with cotton, years ago my Mother and I bought a lot of knit fabric, I need to buy a new sewing machine, I really miss not sewing. We have been having snow and ice here, pretty much an old fashioned winter with the cold temps, it's supposed to do something later tonight. It has also been super windy, so far February feels like March with all the strong winds we've been having. Stay warm and well my dear friend, see you in the next video!
Happy Saturday! I didn’t do a very good job of resisting, myself! I did mostly focused on that Vortex I fell in love with. Will make lovely gift blankets + some for me. I’ve hardly bought any yarn for over a year. It was a good time to purchase, and at $3.32 each, I went for it. Did you and your mom make garments with the knit fabric? That gives a much nicer feel and drape on the body.
Sorry, those biting winds are back. Awful how it just cuts through, no matter how many layers you have on. We’re finally getting our winter. Snowing again right now, then turning bitter cold. Or rather, colder! Single digits and minus temps at night. 🥶 Stay cozy! Hope you can get a new sewing machine soon! 😍
@@cabinfevercrochet We did sew garments with the knit fabric, lots and lots of them! Mostly my Mother though, she was quite the seamstress. I think we're supposed to have 3 storms this week, one ice storm and the rest snow, we had ice last night, it's mostly gone now.. Stay in and stay warm Helene!

I’m so glad you enjoyed my video, and got to see it snowing the last time. We got a fair amount more the other day. So nice finally getting our winter. Sigh of relief. The spring melt becomes our water supply for the year. Still holding out hope for JoAnn. Have a beautiful rest of your day too. 💕

Joann’s has certainly outdone themselves with those new yarns. I have one more order coming. Then I will be holding my breath to see what happens with their stores. My local store isn’t as large as yours but it does stay busy most of the time. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I just gasped and fell in love with the same one's that you did! There were so many yarns there that my Joann doesn't carry. On my way to Morro Bay this June, I will be stopping in at the big Porter Ranch Joann (If it is still there!😬) and they might have some of these. Thank you for the fun tour of all the beautiful yarn. A week ago, I went to my Joann in Redlands, Ca and it looked pretty normal in there, except for some big boxes piled up by the framing dept. Take care.
Hi Sandy! That’s good your Redlands store is still open and stocked pretty well too. Maybe they still have some of that Big Twist Vortex? Or was it the Splendid Merino bulky? Either way, you can go online, using that store’s zip code and see what’s in stock. I’ve been doing online orders to pick up in store. Holds the yarn and gives me a few days to get down there. Right now, there’s an extra 20% off the $3.49 Vortex sale price, when purchasing that way. Plus you get an instant $5 coupon for in-store shopping, emailed to you, right after you pick up your order. Your trip sounds exciting! Hope you’ll have some fresh fish and chips for me while you’re there! I love Morro Bay and really miss that place. Cayucos, just north, is nice too. Quaint and laid back, Old West feel. A really neat and large antique shop there, with all kinds of interesting stuff. Like stepping back in time. Cambria, north of Cayucos, has a lovely speciality yarn shop if you have the time, Ball & Skein. So many other artsy independent shops there too. Fun to look and take it all in. Nice little places to eat or grab a homemade pastry and latte. Tiny town, just beautiful. Pines along the sea. Worth the extra jaunt. ☺️

The Vortex yarn works up great. I'm surprised you found it since it isn't available online anymore. I got a bunch of it and will check my local JoAnns on Friday.

Your store looks great! I went to one of my Joanns this week and it looked like a prison - minimal lighting on, no one hardly working, floor extremely messy and dirty, and hardly no yarn unpacked. It is the store that has the most yarn available when you order and pick up, which is what I'm doing now. Very depressing. 😢
That's must've been so sad and disheartening, seeing the store like that. Wow, minimal lighting too. I forgot to mention, ours had no functioning bathroom. I was told, just a hole in the floor, when I asked to use it! Yikes! I sure hope JoAnn can get things turned around. 💗

Remember, don’t ask salesperson if they know when the stores are closing. It’s like asking when are you loosing your job. Just listen to these sites because they are asking the questions to the right people. Kindness is not forgiven. Crocheters are the sweetest okay, knitters, too.❤
Absolutely! Thank you for posting that. I happened to be there at the right time, during my first trip there, about 10 days ago. I approached the subject gingerly, to an in-store rep, as I was cruising around. I'd asked if she minded me asking, if she knows of any updates. We wound up having a lovely chat. She was so nice and interesting, and openly shared what she knew. We talked about crafting too. I did briefly talk with a couple other JoAnn employees, who were very gracious; but I didn't ask specifics. Just let them know how much the store means to me, and the wonderful people who work there. And that I'm hoping and praying it stays open. Anything else they wanted to share, I left it up to them. 💕
I'm happy you picked up some Vortex. It's beautiful and has been flying off the shelves and online... *sigh* Hopefully they can be bought by someone good. We're gonna miss Joann's and the memories.
Thank you! SO beautiful and soft. It's disappearing quickly at my store and sold-out line. I'd wanted one more of Superbloom; but oh well. Guess I'll "have" to go back and get the Rose Bush too. JoAnn will be dearly missed. I'm still hoping for a miracle. 💗
@@cabinfevercrochet The Northern Lights - blue (sold out first), then Beachy Splash, and Superbloom. Those are my favorites, everyone else's too and of course they're mostly gone everywhere. I want more of those, but I'm happy I was able to grab some more of the other colors. I did have to drive 1.5 hrs for them, but worth it. Ebay is trying to sell them for almost $15 each, not even the 3 I listed. I get it, people will buy it, but that's too much of a price increase. I need mine for my yarn stash only. 🤣...... They are so pretty! "Yarn Preview: Joann's Big Twist Vortex" video by Danni (here on YT) is a great swatch video. She worked up a knit and crochet sample for each...... I'm hoping for a miracle too. We need a bunch of those at the moment. 😅
Oh and if you spot Big Twist Prism at the store, maybe check it out and grab some. It's so soft, but super rare to find. I I found it hidden in my store the first time I went a couple of weeks ago. I ain't afraid to look in boxes that are on the floor. 😆 "I'm helping" ..... myself... and them, get product sold. 😎 Thanks for the video!
@@sunflowerhaze1498 Looks I'll have to do some deep bin diving, to look for that Prism! I jumped online right away to see if any in stock at my store. None showing up. I almost bought the Beachy Splash; but put it back. Feeling overwhelmed, not wanting to collect too much. Especially if JoAnn makes it, then I want to be able to go back and support them. But that's a big if; so on the other hand, I want to stock up, just in case. I'm in love with that yarn! My store still has that color left. Additional 20% off the sale coupon right now too. The ever-present yarn obsession, strikes again! I'll just chalk it up to doing my part, too! Ha-ha! As far as eBay, $15 seems steep, unless it includes free shipping. Depending on the buyer's location, the cost is up to or over $5. Plus, $15% off the top for eBay's fees. So if a person bought the yarn at $3.49 + tax (which is 10% in Spokane), then the seller is only $3.75, less their packing supplies, for their time to list, pack, and ship.
