I really like the humor in these, but I remember feeling really disturbed/creeped out by just the look of it when I was around 11 or 12. Always loved animation, and I was poking around Aardman’s work and was glad they did more adult aimed stuff as well. Something about this show though really creeped me out as a kid. Not really anymore, but I’ve got memories of the vibes it gave off.
I think Russian Roulette is the most disturbing one, even Angry Kid was scared about smacking Speccy’s head with a hammer, causing his head to bleed to death.
I was 14 when I saw this and now I'm 18 still very disturbed as this kid is just being abused and his life is a hell the fact that people actually watch this and some people's life is like this is disturbing are all British people like this because if they are this is just fucking miserable

tv? oh no. it was 2003 and i was getting these on one of the first phones that could run videos. the phone company 3 fucked up. thier store screwed up and everything was free... me and 2 other people had the same phone and between us we got most if not all of the episodes... everything was free. ringtones, music videos, sms chats, phone calls. everything on 3 was free for about 3 weeks. i wish i was making this up but it really happened.

Iove these SO much. Would love a movie.. It's crazy the amount of patience needed to make an episode.. Sure, ALL stop motion takes time and patience... but those are usually with claymation puppets. With this one, its an actual person swapping out god knows how many masks... So these people deserve a lot of credit and praise tor a great melding of live action AND animation.
the hard part was already done. just any stop motion, the faces are made well ahead of time and the swapping is a piece of cake. even then, compared to the actual motion, the face seems to be at a much lower frame rate, maybe half or even less than the 24fps most video media runs at. ran at, was standard... whatever.
Basically if horrid henry taught us anything, it's that all British kids are either portrayed as the most evil thing alive, or the most polite and goody goody people to ever exist.
