Hi Alice, thank you for sharing 🎉 I just got a pot of this beautiful plant. My question is i can see there's about 4 or 5 in a 2 Litter pot. There's 1 flower is blooming and 2 buds. I have a big garden, should I sperate them now, or should I do in next spring? I see some leaves are yellow, should I cut them now? Could you pease advise, thank you in advance!😊
Hi, Are they the dwarf variety or the larger agapanthus? What I would sugest is repot it into a larger container. Dont separate it or disrupt too much of the rooting. As it is still blooming enjoy the flowers, after the winter when the new shoots appear in Spring, this would be the best time to separate / divide the rhizomes.
At 1140:14:44, is this how to overwinter aggies in containers? Also, what temperature? Should i leave them in my garage, or inside my home? Thanks for the info!
Yes you use this method in areas where you ground will freeze during the winter. If the ground does freeze then the Agapanthus rhizome will be damaged. You start digging up the agapanthus before the first frost. Clean them and you can also to start your divisions. Yes you can leave them in your garage provided it is frost free, bright and has circulation.
In a container, you could let the leaves die out naturally as it will also provide insulation. You could also cover the plant with hay, or a frost blanket so that it keeps the soil warm.
Thank you for sharing..

Do I need to cut off the leaves in order to overwinter in containers?
