- The "trash panda" is my 1993 Honda Shadow VLX 600 chopper. Hand built without a proper garage or knowledge. Swap meet finds, hand made parts, and the occasional internet order make up this crusty gem. The bike has been ultra reliable and a total blast to ride around.
If you are considering a Honda Shadow 600, get one! They are easy to work on and there is tons of information available online. Thanks to all of those of have helped and inspired this build along the way!

I love your bike! That king and queen seat looks so comfortable! I suffer from chronic back pain and this version of a K&Q seat is exactly what I need. I'm going to try my best to make on myself on my Spirit 750. It's a bit trickier with no hardtail but I've got a good template going. Thank you for sharing your beautiful machine!
You are very welcome, thanks for watching
It has the adventures look to it
Looks nice
It's more of a project bike at this point
Shadow is going to be definitely my first bike
Thanks for uploading Scott. Got to see those rippin' at the end again. 🤙🏽
Found your channel. I have never ridden a bike. Dad's best friend past away, and their family wanted to give our family the bike because no one in their family rode. So my dad has given it to me because he has a Harley. What you did with this 600 is honestly my dream build. The look and everything so unique. And my dad does not want me hard tailing it. I really want a hard tail shadow though lol and I don't see that happening to achieve a look similar to this. Other than that, dude, your bike has given me huge amounts of inspiration to get into riding. This came out of nowhere for me too lol. I really want a bike and just ride. Off I'm going to respect the machine and enjoy the view. Your location looks absolutely stunning to be riding. Living the life lol Tahoe looks beautiful man. Stay safe, and I'm gonna enjoy the rest of these videos. Please make more content. That would be super dope. I would love to learn a bunch from ya!
Welcome! Thank you for the kind words. Shadows make excellent starter bikes, especially for chopping up! Maybe preserve the Harley and slice up the Honda. I'm stoked you've found inspiration and a new passion. Feel free to ask questions along the way! Thanks again dude
If you've never ridden, a hard tail isn't the bike you should start out on, in my opinion. But, it's your bike.
dude. totally dig all your videos, but this one was probably the best. bike still sounds badass and its cool that you put in your own "go fast" switch. 🤣 "because everyone should have one." 🤙🏽
Love the bike. Looking forward to the completed Sportster
I like it! I have an 86 Shadow vt700 I want to modify. I've just begun with some simple things, like smaller mirrors, wrapped pipes, small turn signals, and new grips. My problem is if I keep going down this path it will end up just looking like a Shadow with a bunch of Amazon shit thrown on lol. So I will bob the front and rear fenders soon, and either put on a different tank or just take the stock tank down to bare metal. Not sure yet. Anyways, nice bike, I love seeing inspiration like this
Every bike starts off the same and there is no shame with that! I tend to eat my own words on a regular basis - my current project bike has a ton of 'bolt on bs' as I put it in this video, lol.
I'm stoked if you found any sort of inspiration from this video and thank you for the kind words! 🙏
Ayy first UA-cam vid I’ve watched in a while and I get a shoutout 🙌, hopefully get to start on mine again soon and do a similar vid once finished
Nice scoot! I had a -93 as well. It was a really reliable bike. It survived a head-on collision with a car. I rode about a thousand kilometres the same weekend. :D I would still have it if it would have had a bigger displacement.
The B Roll footage at the end was, well, fun... Still No Pixie... 8/10
Awesome bike man I hope it’s still riding well for you. I hope to build something similar out of a Yamaha virago.
Thank you! The shadow will not die, it's the most reliable thing in the stable. Best of luck on your Yamaha build!!
23:13 that’s what mine looks like on my build! I had kenda k671 tyres with a 6” fender from tcbros - cheers for the great video!
P.S. in that pic is it the fender or the tyre that’s kinda wonky? think my sissy bar caused the fender to pull to one side like in the pic.
Thank you! In that photo on that timestamp the fender is just laying on top of the tire and not mounted to anything. Also that tire is the stock size tire, which is SUPER wide. Cheers!!
Sick dude... Beautifull machine!
Thank you!
This is one sick build 👍
Thank you! I probably will be selling it next spring/summer and moving on to another project bike! Stay tuned
Great video man. Amazing bike. Just subscribed to your channel. I hope to get any of my bike builds as nice as yours on my channel. Freaking completely jealous you have Lanesplits exhaust. I watch their channel so much and makes me wish I didn’t live in Oregon anymore and back in SoCal hahaha. Keep up the great work wrenching man.
Thank you! I appreciate the kind words. I have been working a bunch lately but I should be getting back into the habit of making and posting videos soon!
Take care brotha
28:53 adorable shot of “her” feet !
🤙🤙Dope as bike. I'm a shadow fan! ❤LNSPLTBLD.
Thank you!!
Great Video!
Nice bike man I have a 2006 built pretty much the same way but I have a lot more space from the e tank to the rear fender any chance you can measure your wheel base it seems much shorter then mine
the information I found (based on the appearance of the knife, says it is a, WW 1 German trench knife
Badass! Thank you
@@SUPPORTYOURSELF no problem, glad I could help
Trade you a 1988 Vulcan vn 1500 clubstyle look runs good lol
Where can I find a dual carburetor and I love the bike bro
Depends on the model of shadow. Some have single carbs some have duals
Hey dude, what about the 'comfort' after switching to hardtail without the spring seat?
You feel the road more! It's a lot better than I expected and not as bad as people said it would be.
With that Seat do the bigger potholes break your back. I have been thinking about doing the exact same thing to my 95 shadow and getting the same seat
I have like the same still aftermarket pipes. How did u cut the baffles out?
Easiest way would be to slice the tip off where it meets the pipe and replace it with a new tip. I went through the trouble of actually cutting it out and that was a nightmare. The baffles are welded in at a bunch of different spots
@@SUPPORTYOURSELF also how many turns out you got your mixture screws
My dude is that in big bear area ?
Tahoe
Did you go tubeless with the rear wheel?
Tube in the front and rear! Thanks for the question!
What’s a “go fast switch”?
Headlight hi/lo beam
Is there anyway to FI swap or kits for this
tbh i'm not sure
How thia seat calls? Where can i found it?
King & queen seat. It is custom made 🔨
Anyone know the name or brand of that seat?
Unbranded...looks custom
It’s a rat🐀bike👍🇩🇰denmark🇩🇰
