Wow!! Still alive. Crazy run continues. Also the “Gave up” mental break seems so rare. I wonder what are the chances that it triggers from the pool of all the other mental break options. I think “Gave up” and also “Return to the wild” might be the rarest for me. In dozens of playthroughs I have had them maybe once or twice
And it seems to happen to the most useful colonists too 😂, was watching a series by someone a couple years ago. They decked this melee fighter out in beta poly gear and he was like, great memory blood lust brawler iron willed, with a double burning passion in melee. Dude had his first break the whole series and returned to the wild, the UA-camr threw his whole colony at the guy and lost his run to his godly melee pawn

Best way to level up melee? The yttakin ‘war call’ on any high HP animal, the melee attack it with fists. It won’t fight back, and you can get XP fast for a bear, elephant or Thrumbo.
Its so sad sir, ive got like... 2000 hours of rimworld, i love that game. But just in this Stream i realised you can order more then one thing manualy by Holding shift... i am happy on the one side to know that, on the other hand i am embarassed by myself. Why havent i tried that ONCE in years. Gives me really Hard tableless food vibes.

I've got a bit of a question. I saw you didn't go for it even when you had several perfect opportunity to do it, so I've got to ask. Did they nerf loosing ?
@@RFC-3514 high strung grammar nazi with a chip on his shoulder here. Wants you to know that you misspelled a word & that you should feel dumb. Personally, I think it's an honest mistake & he's just a douchebag so don't feel bad.
10:32 - If you use grenades to take out the turrets, they never explode, and you'll always be able to get the power cells. It's a bit more micro-management, but you only need to do it for the ones sitting right next to cells, and it's generally worth it unless you have no use for the extra power generation.
I know, I've been doing that and teaching that for years. The important caveat is that you have to be close enough so that the miss radius is only 1. I explained why I didn't do it in this series, but it was lost to the editing.
@@AdamVsEverything - But you could definitely have done it (with a miss radius of one) on the one that exploded there (at 10:32). Just aim the grenade one tile to the right of the mini turret, and it wouldn't have hit any of the cells. Unless the reason that got cut in editing was something else?
@@RFC-3514 I know I could have done it, it wasn't that I couldn't do it. I've done the exact thing you are saying many times even in series that are here on UA-cam. That wasn't the reason. I had destroyed, sold, or given away all the frag grenades that had landed/accumulated. I would have had to make another. I also mentioned how I was going to 'take care of these differently than normal to be safer' which was expanded on in the vod. One of the main things I meant about this was having fire power to kill/kite manhunters spawning (or prior to that if a mech spawned from one of the generators before I destroyed etc.) It's also one of these reasons I was taking way more pawns out to clear these than normal in most cases.
@@AdamVsEverything - So the reason (which you mentioned was lost in the editing) was that you didn't actually _have_ any grenades? That would certainly be a good reason for not using them at that point. ;-) Might have been worth it to make some, though, if you had the ingredients, since you'd get three extra unstable cells. P.S. - Regarding the editing, sometimes I get the feeling the person editing the videos doesn't play Rimworld, because they cut some parts that are kind of required to understand other parts, but leave those in. A bit like the editing in the theatrical version of Lord of the Rings (either cut that sub-plot completely or leave it in, if you leave just half of it in it's more confusing).
Yeah, I've done it successfully lots of times. The idea is to just target the explosive carriers with the ball of pawns to down them quickly. Unfortunately, the one with the rocket was literally hidden under the pawn portrait and I didn't see that one :( Obviously its always easy to look at it in retrospect and such now, but in these moments during no pause sometimes things happen :P
I heard Adam mention kill boxes and then I looked at the video and noticed he doesn't have a kill box, did kill boxes get nerfed? Imagine making unique comments, sounds like a difficult task. I'll keep beating the dead horse instead
Dunno how you can hold that long haha, when i build walls, Randy just send me termites and breachers; or drop pods, also feeling that every kind of armor before marine armors are useless and time wasting , congratz !!
Flak vest is the same defensive properties for the chest as marine but doesn't have a speed penalty. Obviously it doesn't protect as many parts, but flak vest, duster, button down is better than recon (depending on quality) and in general as good as marine armor when taking into consideration mobility. Then just use whatever the best helmet is you can get etc.
@@AdamVsEverything I've tried plate armors as tribe start, but i don't think it's really effective by the time to build/ressources spent and movement penalties 😖 flak vests with duster seems good indeed, esp in devilstrand material; i might have a question for you tho, are sandbags the best for cover? Because walls are good, but just on an angle and i'm not sure about sandbags if they get the same nerf on diagonals?
Locust armor is pretty good in the sense that lit lets you have a jetpack + another accessory, and it's tactically useful to have a couple of pawns like that. I generally only use locust, phoenix or [prestige] cataphract. And mechlord, of course, since Biotech.
I really hate it when people say things like killboxes and whatnot are cheesing the game, so long as something isn't an exploit...no it isn't. This game is damn near impossible without killboxes and no modded content, if you ever get an end game raid that's majority melee you're totally fucked trying to fight 100 Raiders with like 10-15 pawns because their melee guys will just steamroll your door blockers, which is kind of a dumb thing for the game to recommend over killboxes.

I had them often when they have lots of breakdowns.

You can use crematorium or NP dispenser to wall your base and use animal flap as door to make barracks. It is legal move, but... ;]

I was going to ask if it would be a good idea to wall in the climate adjuster, but then I remembered.
Why not fire the smoke at the turret on the initial pull instead of smoke at your people who have to fire through it?
Doesn't matter where the smoke is, the accuracy hit is the same shooting through it
