nice use of octaves with the melody chords, gives a cool wes montgomery vibe.....forgot to mention the bass and drums lock in and swig hard....love it.
I agree, this is a beautiful performance. Now, I don't mean to necropost, but I take issue with your comment, and I can't stop myself from arguing on the internet. First, there are hardly any negative comments; these are the only 3 I found: - "Soporific at best" - "it doesn't swing well with me" - "not so good at swingin blues eh?? hehe everybody has weaknesses" and this one got ratioed What are you mad at? And more importantly, brilliance is in the eye of the beholder, and the eye of the beholder is just the result of forces upon it, so to blatantly insult someone's taste as "unsophisticated" because it doesn't match your own is rude and egocentric. This kind of comment, a pompous attack on those who don't like what you like, is damaging and aimless, as those you insult will either feel hurt or disgusted, and as a consequence, they will subconsciously avoid the thing you've just tried to extol.
no real biggety prizes for you son. why the ? It is or it isn't . you're on stage, old jazz cat starts playing "Sandu" you better be sure it's Eb blues and start playing or you get sent home. How's the ear training and form recognition going after 5 years?
It’s funny you mention Wes, because I just posted a comment asking ‘Does jazz guitar get any better?’ To which I answered ‘Wes’ but Kurt is up there. The guy is just reaching new levels every time I hear him.
couldn't disagree with you more. as a matter of fact, he is the one guitarist currently in modern jazz who uses signal processing MUSICALLY, and beautifully incorporates them ORGANICALLY into his overall sound. Kurt's tone is absolutely beautiful!!!! Always was.
This is brilliant....his chord vocabulary is insane!!
so perfect laid back played, it swings soo hard that it hurts
I could listen to him play like this all day. Love it.
kurt and revis are just locked harmonically... unbelievable ears
What a DRUMMER
Highly sophisticated, a pleasure for the ear.
Que baterista!!!

The sound of Kurt is amazing with or without delay and reverb, but for me is so perfect
It's fuck*** Amazing, Awesome, damn it... Harmony and swing are incredible...
it was last year.. and I was there..
and.. his performance was.. one big hell... just gotta luv him...
this was truly epic!
oooh i am in the front row hahaha this was so much fun. thank you kurt, eric & justin!
Great, simply another great version from the hands of a true Master. And what a great band too. Clifford Brown's "Sandu" blues in Eb.
Great rhythm section ,
pure swag
Very Cool!!!
"oh Kurt is just that cat who plays a lot of lines, like a horn player" (kurt proceeds to open his solo with 6 choruses of beautiful chordal material)
Thats so true, his chord solos sound so gorgeous
Damn I want More!!
Man, Justin has some sexy drumming!
lol berklee guyz
Blues, man! Mr. Brown! Yeah!
This is a brilliant, extended chord melody solo by KR, despite what some of the commenters unsophisticated, pedestrian ears have led them to believe.

@@Maou3 how dramatic!
Justin is so killing !!!!
WOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! :0
Does jazz guitar playing get any better? Wes maybe, but that’s about it. Dude’s next level.
Justin kills it!
KURT!!!
What is the name of this tune? I know its very popular but its escaping me
sandu by clifford brown.
Could anyone tell me what was the name of this standard song?
9 years too late, but it's Sandu :)
Eb Blues?

Average by KR standards but it's a swing blues which is so cool to hear from him. Don't recall any on records or CDs.
Average?..
Image trying to transcribe all Kurt's on this 😂
I still haven't forgotten Wes Montgomery when we talk about taste, melody and chords....
I think most people have, and I think thats a good thing
I listen to the present guys and then play some 'Wes', the contrast is staggering. Wes so far hasn't been matched.
It’s funny you mention Wes, because I just posted a comment asking ‘Does jazz guitar get any better?’ To which I answered ‘Wes’ but Kurt is up there. The guy is just reaching new levels every time I hear him.
I have
how's this tune called?

SANDU de Clifford Brown
Kurt!! Turn down your delay bruh!!
totally, his playing's fine but it's drowning in delay and reverb! all it does is muddle the music
+Kyle Benford youre all over these youtube comments bruh!!!!
CAHARLIE STURNENR
Metheney/Scofield-over-effectitis. A sad modern affliction.@@josky852
Disagree. He works well with this sound and others he's conjured.
I’d lost counts through drum solo...
sandu
yah sometime's kurt's effects are a bit out of place in straight-ahead jazz
couldn't disagree with you more. as a matter of fact, he is the one guitarist currently in modern jazz who uses signal processing MUSICALLY, and beautifully incorporates them ORGANICALLY into his overall sound. Kurt's tone is absolutely beautiful!!!! Always was.
the delay is a bit too much
he should take his hat off for a change.
Why?
Soporific at best...
not so good at swingin blues eh?? hehe everybody has weaknesses
this is swinging as fuck what are you saying
it doesn't swing well with me
sandu
