The fact that snail is physically capable of roaring scares me
Fr
It's a world were an octopus is the apex predator, wouldn't surprise me if it had a jaw filled with nighmares.
@@sharlockshacolmes9381 Nakarkos right?
@@lemonsice2409 yup
@@sharlockshacolmes9381 bro octopus and squids are apex predators in real life as well. the food chain is divided into trophic levels where level 1 is plants and things that can produce their own food. level 2 is herbivores who eat plants. level 3 is carnivores who eat herbivores and level 4 is carnivores who eat other carnivores. there is a level 5 where they have no predators but in the ocean biome that would only be toothed whales (like orcas) because only they truly have no predators.....i men technically humans could kill and eat them but we don't. Thus trophic 4 can be considered apex predators as well since only other trophic 4/5 will hunt and eat them.
Imagine if you taunt at it, the monksnail become all like "u wot m8" and rushes towards you full speed
Goes from yellow to red and just charges through the water towards you at full speed and the water doesn't slow it down in the slightest...
All while doing a high pitched screech
That would be the most terrifying thing I would witnessed
@@traceyjacobsen8544 with the speed of an Valstrax and the power of an Fatalis and it summons lightning like Kirin and shoots fire everywhere like Dire Miralis and it got the wind barrior like Kushala and the last thing it can becomme invisible like Chameleos XD
Oh god! At that rate, it'll be upon us by 2025! Prepare the ship, ready the ballistae- WHERE'S MY DRAGONATOR?!
@@notthalis9545 No, thats for dragons, we need the snailnator
It kinda disturbs me that it can roar at you, imagine how loud it is for you to be able to hear it from that distance
its description in the hunters journal says sailors dont really like it id imagine thats why
@@babster6856
It's based on the Umibozu, a yokai that sinks ships. Unsurprising.
A roaring snail... that's a thing.
I actually heard it a couple times during regular hunts/tours. Now I know where it came from.
Makes me think of the Citadel alarm from Half-Life 2. No matter where you are you always hear it. So i imagine the closer you are to it, it gets so loud you lose hearing.
It’s kind of freaky that it even knows you’re there. You’re absolutely tiny compared to it, and really far away, and yet it not only notices but acknowledges you- the fact that it can roar is horrifying in all honesty
No wonder sailors live in fear of this Umi-Bozo
I thought the same thing like, you are not miles away from that creature? the fact that how it manages to see you and having this intelligence ability to recognize a wave and give an answer scares me
see i have this theory that hunters are actually Immortal Gods which is why we can do insane feats of strength and tank the strongest of attacks and literally walk it off. At most we faint but even that doesn't have any lasting effects as once we're back in town there is no lasting damage.
i mean we get hit with lighting, burned alive, fall from crazy heights, get hit with attacks that melt steel and rock, blow up, poisoned, and still have the strength to swing a sword hard enough to cut off a monster tail that's thicker than your whole body.
this would also explain how we kill these insanely powerful legendary creatures that have wiped out entire civilizations in under 20 mins.
What's even crazier is the fact that those glowing spots aren't even it's eyes. They're bio illuminating organs. That may not be its full body.
@@chi7818 Hunters aren't immortal. They are superhuman but Wyverians easily outlive them.
@@nirifer7275 we don't know this. we have never seen a hunter actually die. at best we hear stories or don't see them anymore but there are plenty of explanations why that could happen.
we have though seen the ace hunter face tank Fatalis's kingdom destroying flame breath and was ok less than an hour after.
Imagine a new class of monster called snail wyverns.
mollusks class sounds better
@@kushgodreturns5873 that way yama and nakark have finally a place to fit in
Imagine fighting an oyster
Then im gonna need to cover my hammer in salt then.
@@IsaiahHollins I hate the fact that can probably work XD
I love it so much. Umibozu is my favorite yokai. His response to your gestures are cute.
Umi bozu is my favorite yokai as well as soon as i saw the monksnail I literally said” an umi bozu snail”
fun fact : in japan, monksnail name is Umiushibouzu
He was fun in Nioh. And Fun Fact Umibozu means Sea Monk.
Omg it is an umibozu! Only just realised thanks to your comment.
@@ayubyub6009 that's so CUTE
I think what's more interesting is that some of those responses look like it's blushing.
Ibushi and Narwa- i yawn
Monksnail- oh god
He is just a chill dude
I love when the hunter applaud and it coloration made it looks like as if it was blushing and showing off at the same time
Now that's creepy but cool at the same time...
Is it wrong this guy is my fifth favorite monster of all time?😂
Is Nakarkos also on that list xD
AsT5tm AsT5tm de q
Awww its soo cute
(slowly approaches you)
Nope! Do not want!!
Knowing that it's monster hunter the people would be thrilled and quickly start making preparations like harvesting Zorah or Jhen
@@eririspencersawamura5291 WOOOO ITS FUCKING FESTIVAL TIIIIIME!!!! YAAAAA-
I'm going to assume Hunters are never dispatched to hunt these big boiz down.
Monsters don't normally respond to emotes, and it knows you're there from a very long distance; it seems completely passive and not dangerous at all, probably more of a rare delight for Monster Hunter civilians to interact with from a ship or shoreline rather than be afraid of.
it's based on a yokai that actively tries to sink ships -- the ship you have to stand on to see it is referencing that
@@frost2094 it's _referencing_ that, but the Frost Islands notes tell you exactly what happened when you find all of them.
Although in the Endemic Life notebook, they say that it scares the sailors because of its appearance, & I don't blame em. But it doesn't mention anything actually happening because of it though.
@@CaptainCFalcon It's probably scary looking to dissuade the sort of monsters that exist in the sea from trying to eat it, there's probably some big things out there
@@ChainsawGutsFuck I really would love to know what resides underneath the water in MH, we barely see anything underneath it.
@@gojigiante Ceadeus is one.
He’s adorable idk what yall are on
Awww what a gentle giant
*loads siege weapons*
People keep saying the Monksnail is cute but once they read the lore on him in the game, they won’t think it’s cute anymore lmao you never want to get close to one.
Wdym? The lore just says it's a gentle giant right?
You're really out here playing miming at a hill, and it's miming back.
Damn, didn't even know about this. Now I gotta go take some more pics for the Handbook.
Imagine if underwater hunts were still a thing...I guess they could also make you hunt it on a boat like jhen moran.
Snail-lad seems to be chill so it would probably never be a hunt in the first place.
"A gigantic sea snail from the Frost Islands. It hates bright lights, and so remains in the sea during the day. At night, it surfaces where squids and other such potential prey gather."
Yeah, sounds pretty chill.
"It possesses an organ that projects various patterns of light onto its skin. Its eyeball-like glow and colossal silhouette are the dread of every sailor in the region."
I don't think it's trying to scare sailors. More likely, it's trying to scare off anything that would eat it...but those things would have be huge and/or immensely powerful in their own right - something like Ceadeus or Nakarkos would probably chow down on a Monksnail if given the chance.
I Hope She Will be hunted in the next mh with underwater fight... Just Imagine colossal things that you have to fight underwater at night (this thing kinda fears and hype me up at the same time)
Absolutely livid that I can’t pet it
0:45 - And here I was thinking that the thumbnail was a photoshop, good find!
You might think that thing is friendly but I bet my zenny that it was the one who wrecked the ship ur standing on
lol no, what happened to the ship is written down in the notes you can find on the map
(Me with my notes, knowing that it isn't)
_How much Zenny you betting?_
@Captain Falcon each and every one of my precious 0z
@@somedude2468 oof, I feel that.
Here's a suggestion I found for Zenny farming. Have your submarines gather nullberries, & just sell em. 100 nullberries is at least 12k
Just wait for the DLC. When we get a Narwa and Ibushi quest and everything seems lost, the Monksnail will appear and safe the day.
We can hope
You get a Monksnail hat plushie in Sunbreak instead.
I was just now gathering in the Frost Islands, and this thing scared the SHIT out of me. I didn't expect to see a huge monster out in the distance like that at all.
That’s cute! Let’s kill it and make our Palico’s mini versions of it....
I have a severe phobia of snails, and this absolutely terrifies me. Its a giant snail thats capable of ROARING. well, Nakarkos could also roar but still
Thank you for showing me how to do gestures, I was having trouble with that!
why does everyone get scared or dislike monksnail? it is huge and cute...it also says hi to me :)
Well I mean, it kinda looks intimidating and it the fact it “roars” towards you, but I too think it’s a cool creature
This particular creature gives off the vibes of Umibozu from afar and that's kinda creepy and curious.
it gives me baby narkarkos vibes
200 hours in but I finally found my favorite monster
Giant friendly Umi Bozu Snail.
That's cool and all but when can we make a Hat out of it?
Yes. There's one in the Sunbreak expansion now.
"Square up slug, I want your armor"
The monksnail seems to have a glowing organ
Glad to know I'm not the only one who noticed this.
The Ultimate good boy
Calling it now. This is the boss in the new final ending
monk snail, giant snaily friend
They replaced the balloon from the old monster hunters.
Wolf:HELLOOOOOOOOOOOO
Monk snail:WASSSSUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUP
well now I don't wanna fight it, it waived at her
The Monksnail is very cute here
Alternate title : Gesture showcase feat giant snail
Tbh I never knew that was there until now like wtf yo
What a crazy detail! Nice find!
Thats so cool, now I wanna go inside the game and wave at it!
After playing Pikmin I really can't trust a creature based on the Umibozu no matter how passive it may seem.
Queue The Goonies ending theme.
Its like a blue whale. so big and tame yet intimidating
Monksnail is my new religion
Nakarkos basically confirmed
So....when do we hunt the snail? Lol
Nooo
Guys, its 'that' snail.
Awww its a little babyyy
I just ran into it last night. I was minding my own business mining and looking for notes when I feel something staring at me. I turn and see a mountain with eyes... thought it was a jellyfish. Went to take a picture to see if anything came up... it's a snail! Please make it an elder dragon capcom! I dont really want to slay it... but I want armor from it.
Make it into a pet
It looks like a clam and a umibozu had a baby because I first has thought that this snail was small but its actually huge also is it just me or does it look like its smiling
Whaaaat?! This game is beyond amazing!!
Dude i never even saw that thing
How is that possible snails don't have vocal cords and how is this thing classified as an emedemic life form this thing should be classified as an elder dragon
But it is unable to truly cause harm, it is just loud, and lives in one of the most remote places there
Supposedly it’s a normal creature because it’s just a big snail. A fairly friendly one at that. I’m sure all of the Endemic Life do have proper classifications, like how the Regitrice is a Wingdrake or the Wailnard is a Bird Wyvern(supposedly)
Whether or not something is a Monster is mostly dependent on whether the Guild sees it as a threat or not. Probably why Herbivores are classified as such instead of actually put in other classes.
@@itsturniptime3699 herbivore being a classification in general is already kinda confusing. *stares at Cactus-Eater Diablos*

Im just curious what the fuck he looks like under the water... there's clearly more to it then it lets on...
I think this is cute
Can't wait till its the final boss in a high rank update 🤣
Cute Monster
All of them can react to gestures
i love it
The thing on the back is not the head! It poked it's head out! at 00:48!
Is the jelly set made from his parts? lmao
True Final Boss confirmed?
He do be kinda schmoving though.
Ok, when can we fight that thing?
How big is it? What monster class is it in? Dose it have specific elements and ailments? I need to know!
That thing is a snail ?? It is like a moving stuff of nightmare .
Noo, don't call it!
Baby shaped
when do we get to fight it?
what is her weapon called?
When do we get to kill it?
How to spot that giant snail please answer me 😢😢
he will come at night time in the frost island
Is this real?
Yup. Check the Frost Islands at night
How does he appear?
sometimes he appeared at night
Ok thanks
Don't put spoilers in the thumbnail.
how is it a spoil
Not a spoiler
@@robot9.0 The thumbnail shows the exact location of a secret in the game. Anyone who gets this in their recommendations now has that secret spoiled.
@@petrie911 that's not a bad thing, it's nothing related to the story, and it is related to a trophy so people are actively looking for it
I agree that it's a spoiler. I found this guy on my own and it was incredibly cool. If I had known of it before I think I wouldn't feel the same way
