  • A video showing the 2nd to last take off of the Hawaii Mars as it did one final night of video shooting before making its retirement flight to Victoria and the BC Air Museum. This is August 10, 2024. There are shots of it taking off, passing overhead, passing in the distance, and landing. My microphone completely died by the end of the night. (It was still on and supposedly working but only static came out.) But there are lots of great shots with great audio of that unforgettable rumble. The video also features the "Green Goose" one of two former Grumman G-21 Goose flying boats that flew as fire support/spotter planes for the two Mars aircraft.

Ya LOVE IT. I do hope to get a glimpse as it passes over Victoria! It’s pretty emotional.
