I’m retired Army and you’re well deserving of the Soldiers Medal which is the Army’s highest peacetime award. Yes your training took over but more importantly this is also called leadership. Thank you for doing the right thing.
As an RN in critical care, I can tell you, your muscle memory and mental acuity kicks in within nano seconds and you find you can do CPR for longer than you'd think. I don't know how to explain it, but everything else flows out of your mind but that NOW moment to give help to someone in need. Bravo to her!
Clean up your city and maybe people will want to work there. I tried working in the STL area prn 20 years ago. You couldn’t pay me enough to work there then , and it would take even more now. I am not risking bodily harm for less than $20/hr.
Tragic 😢, I'm so sorry for your son, sir. Prayers for complete healing. Thank God for the EMT jumping off the bus and the other gentleman who joined in to help. You both did a caring, wonderful thing responding to a cry for help. 🌿🙏🌿
They were staged within a few minutes. Most EMS cannot go in without the scene being secured on calls where violence is in effect. EMS can't help if they get shot going in to an unsecure scene.
@@yveeriksson7437no, but because it was a shooting, the FD policy requires police to secure the scene first. I believe the 911 operator should just be able to ask “is the shooter(s) gone?” And let the ambulance crew decide. But because of policy, the ambulance crew had to “stage” a block or two away, wait 6 minutes for the cops to secure the scene, and another 2 minutes to get to the scene (so 8 minute delay on providing care). Nobody wants to see a firefighter/end to get hurt, but these policies are ridiculous. It really should be a judgment call by the firefighters.
Thank goodness for Lilly! Collin's family, from another hockey family, please hold on, talk to him, keep the hope going! Sending you love and wishes for many more fantastic games
Thank you Father God for having Lily in the right place and keeping her and the others strong to do what needed to be done. Praying in Jesus Name for Colin's healing. God Bless you all.
I thought I was the only one who felt 16 minutes was way too long to arrive to a shooting, where mere minutes can life or death. The ambulance should be the FIRST to arrive. Not the LAST!
With a gun shot victim PD has to clear the scene before FD and EMS arrive They were staging for PD FD and EMS doesn’t carry guns so you don’t want more victims
@@royhoward4181 Understood, but those practices are for active threats. There was an EMT already on scene performing CPR for 4 minutes and confirmed there was no threat. Plus, where the hell did they stage - in Geneva? They took an additional 4 minutes to get there after PD “cleared the scene” for 4 minutes. No need to stage in this case. This CFS response time should have been closer to 5 minutes.

It's St. Louis, the Oakland of the central U.S. .......... Remember during the fentanyl "summer of love", when p.d. was telling people they were, ON THEIR OWN.........
Technically this counts as a CPR save. The chances of a first time CPR save esp gun shot are ASTRONIMCIAL!!! That was her billion dollar lotto ticket. I was lucky back in 1987 my first CPR was a save. I was doing a transfer from a nursing home to a local hospital as I was prepping the gurney and my Medic was getting the paper work I watched the old man just fad away...so it all just kicked in...got the CPR board under him called for my medic and away we went got him to the hospital and just before they called him..he came back. He died 6 months later but I got to talk to him a week after.
Amazing that this young woman was able to step in and apply her training. Well done. Why isn't there a conversation about it taking about 16 minutes for first responders to get there. I worked for a fire department (admittedly almost 3 decades ago) and, IIRC, the standard was 6 minutes. Isn't it the same now? Almost 20 minutes is just too long! This kid's parents should look into that. EDIT: Just saw that Colin Brown didn't make it. What a gut punch. Condolences to the family. :(
Unfortunately, he didn't make it. This amazing young lady, and the other good Samaritan who jumped in to help as well, gave him just a little extra time. I imagine that time was enough for his loved ones to say goodbye while he could still hear it. He may not have survived in the end, but even having an extra day for loved ones is still a huge blessing. Praise God for this woman and the other guy. 🛐🛐🛐

My son received this award after saving a man from drowning from an inexperienced dive exploring coral reef.
Awww... .you miwitary?
She's an everyday hero who doesn't wear a cape, bless her. ❤
She should wear a cape .
@robgindc Yeah... that ameritard trope is not WAAAY over played..
Her local EMS Department Should Immediately Employ that fine young Lady!!
Hope Colin makes a full recovery. Blessings to the young lady EMT and others who assisted

Thank you Lily..❤
My prayers for this Colin and his family.
Also, well done to "Respond Right EMS Academy", that has to make them proud! I didn't know such a thing existed in a storefront setting like that.
As a new EMT, we don’t know anything real. She learned real fast how strong she is. It takes a lot of courage to jump in and take control.
Wonderful young lady. Thank you, Lily.
What a hero.. thank you Lily!!!
A REAL hero.. not enough of these in our society. Hearts to this chick.❤
May God bless you abundantly, Lily! Well done, young lady. Well done.
So proud of Lily!
Thoughts and prayers for Colin.
Thank you helping.
So often you see people videoing instead of helping.
Basically you die waiting for an ambulance in St Louis. 😮wow.
Thank you Lily for your heroism ❤

14 minutes from time 911 call to firetrucks arrive. *When seconds count, help is minutes away* God bless Lily, Colin, and his family 🙏🏻✝
Wasn't it 16 minutes? Anyways, far too long. Did they have a coffee brake?
