Ohhhh my gosh please please please I’m begging you to react to Cashual Chuck’s break down of this song. He explains the Philippine Mythology of Bulan 🌒, Haliya 🌘and the Bakunawa 🐉🐲 and the main metaphor Felip is trying to get across - THEN watch this MV again... I PROMISE it will all make sense! You’ll understand why he was dressed kinda like a demigod then turns into looking more of a mortal human, what the sea serpent is about & why this song ended with the sound of a gong. Also that majestic singing in the intro is actually SB19’s STELL 😎🤩🥳
My dear Luis..here's a take from ourFelip: "Bulan" talks about recognizing that powerful being within you and not letting other people consume your light. It shows the darker, more confrontational side of self-love. Because sometimes, the negativity gets too loud to ignore and the only way to get rid of it is to acknowledge the power that you hold and face it head-on. "Bulan" has lyrics about how negativity is being normalized-"'Di na bago sa 'kin 'to [This isn't new to me]," and for me, the way forward is to dismantle that kind of thinking-"
In the legend, there are 7 moons that are siblings, each representing a different day of the week. The water serpent Bakunawa rose out of the water and devoured all the moons except for two, Haliya and her brother Bulan. The actual myth has so many more details, but that’s just a short summary!
Amazing! Love this! Thank you Luis! This is definitely a lost history due to colonialism and love that Felip bringing this back for future generation! 😍🇵🇭🇦🇺👏🙌
Nice reaction as usual Luis. BTW, you can watch the documentary that Cachual Chuck uploaded in regards with the newly released song of Felip. It's very informative.
Yah, a masterpiece 🔥 thank you for reacting Felip music videos! 💙 my ultimate bias so talented as in multi, can do everything in his craft, good looking and above all a God fearing man! 💙 I love him! ❤️ Again thank you much for he is your bias also 😍
Long ago, There is a city called Banwa. Bathala(God) blessed them with 7 moons that is guided my moon god and goddeses. They are Libulan,Bulan,Haliya,Banolor,Banilig,Subang And Mayari. They are siblings. The Bakunawa (Sea Serpent/Dragon) is obsessed with the moons.Bakunawa live at the depths of the ocean so it's dark.Bakunawa wants to bring the light with him at the bottom so he ate one moon and its guardian. The moon melts in his stomach so he ate one again until he ate 5 moons and it all metled. Bakunawa attempted to devour Bulan*s Moon and he succeeded but not in eating Bulan for Haliya fought The Bakunawa. When The Bakunawa spitted Bulan, He became a mortal. Bakunawa tried to eat Haliya*s Moon but the people in Banwa also fought the Bakunawa by making so much noise and Bulan helped them not knowing that he is helping his sister Haliya. The Bakunawa fell and the no one ever see him again, But It is believed that when there's a Lunar Eclipse,Bakunawa is Trying to eat the last Moon so the people in Banwa make so much noise again to defeat the Bakunawa Hope this helps
Luis, thanks for reacting to Felip's Bulan. I knew you'd put out an RV for this. I've been waiting for it. I agree. Felip/Ken and Pablo are moving toward the same direction. I think they're brewing up something. My theory: a collaboration as solo artists, a sub-unit. Then the other members (Stell, Josh, Justin) will drop their own solo single that are cohesive. Then the trio will put out one song forming another sub-unit. Kinda mind-blowing but that's what I think.☺️ #FELIP_Bulan #FELIP
Thank you for continues support that you give to our mahalima sb19.Felip work hard on this mv and it turn out 🔥I appreciate your substancial inputs on this 🥰
CasuslChuck just drop a vlog ' SB19 Dark Obsession". He narrates in this vlog the "Legend of Bakunawa" to where Felip's Bulan has taken its cultural inspiration.
Thank you for making an RV for Felip’s Bulan, Luis! I was waiting for you. I hope you can watch Cashual Chuck’s backstory on this legend. Also Ms Shai Legarde’s report on GMA Digital after she interviewed Felip on his thoughts and inspirations. They’re both worth the watch.
In the beginning ,it's really hard to understand, because the characters in the song are all in mythologies...I think he did a research,...with his deep knowledge ,it's quite interesting & I'm sure it's not a copycat !!!
Have been waiting for your reaction of Bulan.... if you want to understand more about the meaning and the message of the song check out sir CashualChuck's video related to Felip's mv Bulan.. ps. Stell is the intro vocal in the song pps. I think the long red hair Felip represents Bulan as God and the short red hair represents Bulan as a mortal man
Felip and his team already released their statement about the issue hours ago , to those people who accusing him wake up for their bad dreams to make other people act like they know everything without knowing what's the real meaning of the song .
The plagiarism accusation and asking to put credits from the other musician are very unnecessary since they're both very different. I noticed that the fan who's accusing ken doesn't have any idea about our culture and philipine mythology. And why not reread the disclamier because the credits were actually put on the disclaimer not to address other artist who the kpop fans are claiming plagiarism from but to the philipine culture instead. And if they still push the accusation ken's team will probably push for filing a case against them, libel and cycber bullying i guess.
@@mimitos3838 I hope that will happen. It will be a lecture to those people who accused them without even learning nor researching of what is the real meaning of plagiarism.
Thank you so much, Luis, for your sincere insights….you’re one of the best reactors I watched especially if the contents are related to our beloved SB19 💙🇵🇭…please watch to Cashual Chuck’s documentary , “ The Dark Story of Felip’s BULAN”….it is so informative & inspiring!
This MV is epic! The story of Bulan (moon god) and Haliya (moon goddess) has lots of versions. You can watch Casual Chuck's documentary about the story behind Felip's MV, that focuses on the story of Bulan. You can also get some sort of insight about what SB19 seems to be getting at in terms of the themes of their songs. There's so much going on in 3 minutes, it's truly a blast to see all the elements come together in this MV. There are many versions of the story that dates back to pre-colonial Philippines. Bulan is one of seven moon deities (pre-colonial Filipinos believed there were seven moons) and the Bakunawa (sea-serpent) was so awed by them that it tried to devour all of them. But Haliya (goddess of the moon) was able to save herself and her brother Bulan. The sea-serpent was punished by the Supreme Deity by keeping him at his current form as a serpent. So Bulan lives, continuing to be the light in the darkness, and Haliya is his protector. The female dancing, is Haliya in this MV. Well, I hope that helped. 😊 Felip is a genius, making this epic MV! Btw, Stell was the intro vocals. 😁
Hi Luis, if you want to understand more about this song please check out Casual Chunk analyzing this song and you will understand more about of Filipino Mythology
stell sang the intro! and hi luis, if you really wanna understand everything about the mv you must watch cashual chuck's documentary about this Bulan hehe anyways, have a good day!
actually the myth story originates from visayas region, during the pre-colonial era of the philippines. the word "bulan" is a visayan word which means "moon" in english; however moon in tagalog is buan/buwan. the dragon creature that appears in the mv is called bakunawa. it is said in the folk that there are three moons before but bakunawa ate the two moons during the eclipse because he was angry at the people.
