Probably still Metrobuses back then. Not always the fastest at climbing up hills (like between South Mimms & London Colney) but they were steady plodders that got you there in the end!
I remember the blue and yellow metro buses working out of Green St Green, Bromley Common, Catford and Lewisham bus stations a lot back in the day, there are a few ex LT night bus units utilised on the school runs round here in Dorset and I remember when Gravesend's buses were down they brought in several Bournemouth Borough units which I all knew from when I lived down there with me mother living right next door to Mallard Road bus depot and when I moved back down the loaners reappeared back in the depot not so long after lol
The mcw metrobus was quite a reliable solid machine, but I found that they a bit reluctant on open road to go over 40mph, I did some rail replacement work 2005/7, agency with blue triangle, and when running light from rainham to north london, titans could manage 45-51mph, the metrobus(?) - 43mph at best
@@SoiBuakhaoRoutemasterbus i found the titan was the better driving experience of the two overall, but I was mostly a lorry driver, dont drive at all now, surrendered my driving licence beginning of the year
@@SoiBuakhaoRoutemasterbus although I cannot place you, it seems we have previously worked together at ash grove garage? No, not due to accidents I may have had when I was an arriva driver, but other reasons, such as my lgv/pcv entitlement expiring, my cpc expiring, and being I am now unemployed, and its expensive to replace, not having used it, and a disability as well, I decided to surrender my licence voluntarily
I was watching a YT video on cars from different eras on a UK car nut's channel earlier tonight and the VW Golf mark II was mentioned, saying how he didn't like driving them and what should appear at 1:37 and 5:28?!! Also seen is a Leyland DAF van which he has reviewed before same colour and high roof 0:03. 4:11 was a trifecta with nice beefy sounding MCW with AEC wheel trims as well as a Ford Cargo truck which I love as well and the same guy mentioned his father used to drive for work only the other night! He has also said he wants to one day review an MCW bus!
It's amazing what's in the background for those that look beyond the buses, people see all sorts of things i just don;t take in when i'm viewing......keep it up!
Hi Peter, thank you. I thought this may be one that you'd like! Keep your head down and stay safe especially at work! My mate Paul at PB says the 234s are very quiet, which is lucky for him!
Quite possibly. They were working for London Traveller and they may have got them from Metrobus. They worked the TfL school route 626 to Dame Allice Owens School and then filled in the dead time until the afternoon working as 584s. It didn't last too long though....
Yes, it was filmed direct onto a VHS E180 tape. Then when DVD came along it was copied in high quality speed to DVD, and now has been also converted to MP4.
It has been remodelled since i made this vid but it's not much better now. See a vid i made last year there and you'll see what i mean ua-cam.com/video/psgRc6OvnCw/v-deo.html
I used to get the 84 bus to St Alban's for college back in 2000

Yes, i'm pretty sure these were ex Metrobus (already being ex London Buses) and were working here for London Traveller over at Willesden.

The station forecourt bus stop isn't exactly bus friendly. No doubt designed by someone who's never driven anything larger than a Ford Fiesta.
