I did the same thing awhile back, but instead of turning the motor, I just turned the grinder around backwards. The switch is on the back, no big deal, it does the job!
Thanks for this works on my 6 inches X 3/4" Old Black and Decker that is single phase and if desired next I can put veritable speed control easily. Got the wheel and compound ordered.Thanks that one I've got probably more than 20 years old but it's a fairly easy job. Lucky me I have a question for woodworking and vice and the grinder was held surcurly during the final parts of the job.
Looks very helpful and I've just brought a older grinder that I can hook up to a verbal speed switch and I'll be checking out the buffer and strop wheels Thanks and I'm subscribed.
I honestly can't never remove the burr on a hand strop and i don't know how anyone is able to. I use my power strop 1x18" leather belt on a ken onion grinder attachment and stropping d2, s35, even 20cv is no problem
I like that variable speed control on a grinder.

It's a big upgrade from my drill motor mounted upside down on the bench with a small stropping wheel chucked up.
