Hardly anyone uses pronouns in callouts? That's just wrong. Spending very much time competing in multiple shooters, he/she is commonly used to describe a character on the field. If there's two opponents left, and one is male, and one is female, its extremely common to say "He's xyz!" if you don't believe me, it doesn't take a whole lot of time to research any pro game uploaded with comms. Not just in Overwatch, but most shooters with characters...
"Venture" is just not as fast when you need to make a fast comm where "he" or "she" could fit, very easily. You basically just ignored this argument and said we're not trying, so I don't know what to tell you. At the top level, people will try to win, optimizing anything they can, including comms, for the dub. Not to be nice.

After going through the whole video, I do have some things to say, To keep in mind, I don't disagree, nor agree, I'm just some dude in between which is the majority of people about this whole ordeal.
Me personally, I don't have any issues with the OW cast having different sexual orientation or identity, If it's built into their story or if its just a little fun fact, It never bothered me.
Instinctively, I naturally call Venture by "She" simply due to the feminine voice they have, I don't mean to be malicious, But when I'm in a heated fight, gender is the last thing on my mind, Sometimes even misgendering males and females because I can't make up my goldfish of a mindset, For example a Kiriko or Reaper. It's not because I don't know, It's just because I get wracked in the head when playing.
However Story wise, I'm intrigued by the nature and their lore, Granted I'm more about their history and how they got with Overwatch rather than who they're attracted to or Identification, But It's still something I'd look into just for that extra knowledge.
Venture is a goofy character, They've got a pretty unique kit to fight alongside, I've only played a few rounds as them since they don't really fit my playstyle, But I do still enjoy their gameplay.
I think the main issue was that to me, Venture doesn't really fit with the other DPS characters. By fit I mean design wise, All of the other Dps characters have some form of unique attachment or armor that implies they're a damage dealer.
Venture just always stood out to me as bland, A long coat, some goggles, The only notable thing I can point out is their large backpiece, Even then you won't be seeing it that much.
Other than their design, Everything else kinda nails the coffin shut, Solid character with some..Not so interesting lore Blizzard threw in, But overall, I like them.
As for a bit of reason why I'm so deprived of gender coordination, I've never really exposed myself to a lot of LGBTQ, I still respect the people who are apart of it that don't force their whole ordeal on me, I've had 4 gay friends throughout my life, And they've all been super chill, cause they don't really care if someone should know what they're attracted to. I don't typically go around sharing my orientation unless someone asks. Which is what I think a huge issue with this whole thing with Venture can be directed to. The people who are over the top "Everything MUST be like this." and the people who are angry "everything MUSN'T be like this."
You can't win with a person like Venture, There will always be people who aren't happy, People are mad that Venture is nonbinary, thus retaliating with hate and "Why does it matter, It's a shooter game." Same could be said about the people defending Venture, with the same sentence; "Why does it matter, it's a shooter game.". There will always be counter fights, This and that yadda yadda. It's a neverending fight until the next character is released and then the haters will nitpick something about them.
TL;DR, Venture will always have people who hate them, and people who love them, or just tolerate them. You can't win a fight with people online, Portraying videos like these will only fuel keyboard warriors to fight back, Recognition is good, and to share your opinion on the whole situation, (just like this comment). Overall, Solid video with some solid points, But there will always be some other guy to push them back with their own unfortunately.

i agreed up until the last 3 or so paragraphs, and i like the way you approached this, so i'm gonna dignify this comment with an actual response:
if lgbt people don't make you uncomfortable, then you should be fine hearing about it, yes? we're loud about it because if we aren't, we will be silently oppressed.
"i know this is a thing that people are murdered for regardless of how they act, and i know that their rights are slowly being removed, and yeah, i also know that they can't post anything about them being queer on their own channel because keyboard warriors will come and yap at them and make excuses for being a bigot, yes, i do know that but i just think maybe they should stop being so loud about it!!!!! like quit forcing it on me!!!"
let me ask you how many people irl have shoved their identity down your throat. i'm not talking about twitter users, but talking about REAL lgbt people you have met face to face. i bet that number is incredibly small. and no, talking about it openly doesn't count as shoving it down your throat. nor does asking to be respected. nor does getting frustrated for being disrespected count, because then you'd have to ask yourself what DROVE them to that frustration? right?
i make these videos for myself and people like me. in a world full of vocal, cruel people, i want someone to be inspired by what i do, to realize that they aren't alone, that we're faint, but we are surviving. in this day and age, our rights to exist are being questioned and some of us don't even get that chance because we get murdered. we NEED people to pay attention to us because we cannot do anything, we need allies who hold the power. we can't do it on our own.
i think that people inherently deserve the right to be themselves. i don't understand a lot of things even about the lgbt community and i'm a part of it. being queer does not hurt anyone.
i appreciate your comment, as much as it frustrates me, and i apologize that i don't have the energy to go more in-depth/make more sense. ^^

@@coffeeopteryx I apologize if It made you frustrated, That really wasn't my intention but I suppose I was going off on a bit of a tangent.
Again, Me personally anyone can be who they really are, I don't judge since at the end of the day, It's their life.
I'm aware of the large oppression people of the lgbtq community face due to its "Abnormal misdemeanour" According to nay-sayers. Back in high school I'd met roughly 3 people who got mad at me for not properly gendering them via the first say, I made sure to get it right afterwards, That's what I meant by "Shoving it down my throat."
I dont mind if people correct me at all, But I don't like it when people get mad at me for something I couldn't tell at first glance.
Point is, Each day the Lgbtq community is gaining and losing members, Just like a lot of other communities, It deserves to thrive amongst society so we adapt to the changes and preferences people have, and who they are. Granted, Not everyone will agree or be on board, That's literally impossible with any community.
So, Again I apologize if the original comment upset you in any way.
I also would like to mention that It's completely fine to speak your heart out and shed your voice for others to hear, I saw the video on my feed and thought I'd watch, I didn't have any problem because It's just what you think, who am I to say otherwise, I just thought I'd share my opinion as you have yours.
Be as loud as you want, It's your channel, and your life, Nobody should be in control of it except yourself.

Venture is a character that I'm happy is in OW2. I have multiple reasons why which I'll name for the fun of it
    1. Their personality
    2. Their play style
    3. They like Ice cream which so does my partner
    4. My partner is non binary
But it's so weird how hostile people can be to someone's pronouns? Like bro calling someone they is never going to kill nor hurt you.
But with the recent elections there's been alot more hostility then needed, but it's funny because its exposing those who spends alot of time listening to others people tell them who to hate.

I watched the whole video I have a few things to say. When you said "Good job I'm incredibly proud you know they're part of a video game." "Overwatch players aren't know for their intelligence" comments don't insult the viewer you're trying to convince to accept your opinion it will just erase any progress you try to make or have made them. While I do think your opinion on what Venture should to go by is completely fine it's your right to have it I still don't care about what a fictional character wants to be called. As for my opinion on Venture in general the voice is not my cup of tea and I think Blizzard missed the mark on the design for Venture they had far better concept art options I preferred the heavy mining suit option the most but that's cause I like big armor. I think the reason why Illari and Mauga didn't get criticism isn't cause of transphobia it's probably cause Mauga and Illari have better personalities (Maugua's being my favorite) and stories compared to Venture Mauga's warm fun personality and his living in the moment story and Illari's stoic personality and her sole survivor story makes Venture look really boring Venture has the adorkable personality (which in my opinion has become way to overused) and a story that's just about them really liking history (Which I respect as History lover myself) Venture kinda falls flat in intrigue. As for the streamers who ban people for misgendering Venture I think it's a bit of an overreaction there are people who do it on purpose to goad a reaction out of the streamer but that's how shit is they're are people who are dicks it's how things are on the internet and I don't think banning people is a good reaction. Hopefully you'll respect my opinion like I have yours and if you don't oh well that's how it is.

youre letting all the people in these comments get to you. Also, I generally don't mind that venture is nonbinary, because I personally think diversity does well for games. But I think a lot of the overwatch cast is forced to be a part of the LGBTQ in order to pander to woke culture. They have basically turned the LGBT community into willing dogs that eat anything they feed them. And personally I prefer higher quality character over lower quality LGBT template number 5. Venture is by far one of my favorite character in OW, but isn't because they're non binary or anything, its because they are COOL. Them being non binary has little to nothing to do with their lore, and them being non binary just happens to be a fact about them. Same for tracer, cool character, cooler concept, and her being gay has nothing to do with her story. Diversity is only good when it comes naturally, not when its forced, and if you're really willing to sit still and let blizzard shit all over you, and give you an apology in the form of LGBT representation for the umpteenth time then you seriously need to broaden your perspective.

Sorry if this is long :D
On the topic of streamer reactions, (I forgot his name,) there was a streamer that said something like, “she looks like a girl, so I’m going to call her a girl,” (referring to Venture.) He was giving ugly…like his beard. Anyway, I’m not a fan of his personality so I don’t follow him. The lengths people, with big platforms, go to announce their ignorant opinions without consideration is idiotic. I believe everyone has the right to say what they want but his response seems to stem from hatred and caters to his audience; almost like he’s putting on a show.
Aspen is a streamer I rarely watch but I happened to catch her stream around Venture’s release. I noticed that she had a rule where if anyone in chat misgendered Venture, they would get banned. Like you, yes I understood the sentiment. Aspen makes it known she does not tolerate bigotry. But that comes with the cost of silencing people (which I don’t like) and with people potentially losing their ability to watch her stream. Yes, it’s her stream, her rules. Watching her live is not a right. But, once again, I believe everyone has the right to say what they want in good faith. People will slip on Venture’s pronouns. I’m thankful Aspen is considerate, but her way of handling the situation would only cause more uproar.
I know in my heart I would never judge someone solely because they’re a non-binary person, a trans person, any other member of the lgbtq+ community, or race, or ethnicity and that’s all that matters to me.

That's really is an important thing about our humanity. Why wouldn't they just call us as who we are instead of labeling as someone that they assume we are!? That's like assuming names of people by just their appearance.
I don't understand why is it so easy to call people by their names, but so hard to call people by their pronouns to others. And morons who say "it's just a game character" also misgender people in real life, but they take other stupid excuses. I don't call Lifeweaver as "she" just because of him wearing pink clothes, because it's a character that's male.
Same goes for Echo, Bastion, Ramattra and Zenyatta: no one calls them "it". They are robots, but people still call them by their pronouns. They call *ROBOTS* by their correct pronouns even, but not humans, like Venture.
