Away in a Manger

No Crib for Jesus
There was no crib, no nice baby cot or small bed, for the King of kings. There was no space in the inn for the architect and sustainer of the entire universe. Indeed, when you are all powerful, all knowing and supreme over all things, you have nothing to prove and no urgency for comforts that others consider indispensable ... with mighty angels bowing before you and waiting to attend to your slightest thoughts. Imagine if He is always by your side, His Spirit indwelling you, loving and protecting you.
Also, let us remember how God dealt with the enemies of the star ... even as the star was a mere baby, sleeping on a bed of grass in an exposed stable with no doors and no seen defenses. What lessons in humility, in being more than conquerors ... in resting at peace - on the sure promises of God. Enjoy this classic Christmas favourite - Away in a manger. I pray this season will be one of joyful celebration, new victories, restoration and spiritual revival. Amen
