This guy (El Estepario) HAS SOMETHING! He really has something! And also that two AMAZING guys that joined into this new band, are so freaking GOOD!!! Also, they are managing so well to achieve their very personal style. And i believe they're nailing it!
An Irishman & an Englishman walk into Berklee's campus in Valencia Spain to do their jazz-leaning Masters, & meet a crazily-skilled drumming phenom Spaniard... luckily the jazzers have some heavier influences too, so they form a band... & I couldn't be happier with the results tbh! Between this & the first single, I'm now looking forward to buying the album when it appears. :)
I need to do more research on the guitarist and bassist, I think that’s super cool they’re jazz musicians and have molded into this genre. It definitely gives a unique feel to what they’re doing
What you're hitting on is this: First it IS music. I'm not a fan of "Metal" not a fan and never listened to it. I've spent a lifetime immersed in Classical music, the Baroque and Bach and Scarlatti, and Jazz of the 60's, 70's and 80's as well as classic rock, Procol Harum, The Doors, The Yardbirds, The Beatles, John Mayall, The Rolling Stones and Blues from my home state of Mississippi! SO NOT a fan of "Heavy Metal" per se, however Jorge has wowed me with his drum covers and now I'm enthralled with his new venture, The Cost and so far I can't get enough! "It's Not for Me" is definitely FOR me, and "Into The Drone" just takes me further down the proverbial "Rabbit Hole" and like Alice, I'm questioning my reality. This is a real group of musicians with the potential to be as groundbreaking as they want to be.
Lovin yer work in these 2 singles fella. :) So satisfying to hear melodic *singing* in heavier music like this- it's so frustrating that there are many bands I'd otherwise enjoy if they wouldn't give in to the unintelligible noises thing rather than singing. You can probably tell from my username what level of vocal I love over heavier music! I just hope you get the appreciation your vocals deserve in this setting. Also, the thought of just *playing* live is enough nervous energy for me (I don't sing- I'm upper-bass-to-baritone only!), so I'm curious how you deal with playing the sole guitar *and* vocal duties, particularly if y'all are going with spicy timings on the regular! I'm hoping for a cheeky wee interview from you on Chris Liepe's channel sometime sooner than later? Anyhoo, all the best from a random music appreciator in sunny Dundee! :)
