It's been a rough 2 months into the season between all the injuries and the cold bats, but man is Chris Sale turning into a good trade!
Hopefully we can sign him long term
A .600 winning percentage would normally seem like a pretty good year but the Phillies playing above .700 changes the perspective. Hopefully Philly will finally hit a skid.
162 games definitely gonna be ups and downs, hopefully Acuna b ok.

Time for the Braves to dial it in and contribute with smart, fundamental baseball. For all the inefficiencies up and down this lineup throughout the first two months, they’re still 10 games over .500 and have great starting pitching (4/5 times)
Chris Sale and The Big 🐻 have literally carried this team to where it is now. Hopefully, others will start to join in offensively. Matty O made his presence felt during this series though 💯 Also, D'Arnaud deserves his flowers for what he's done both offensively and defensively at the Catcher position while filling in for Murphy

Of ALL the things that could cause the Braves' Offense to awaken Today...
- Did it have to come from ACUNA GETTING INJURED?! The Most Exciting Player in Baseball EXITS with what is currently being described as 'Left Knee Soreness', but judging from that Replay... I am FEARING THE WORST. To this point in the 2024 Season, Acuna is Batting .250 with an OPS of .716, 4 Home Runs, and 15 RBIs through 49 Games. If he goes down AGAIN for the Season...
+ In his Absence, Jarred Kelenic HAD A DAY! 3-4 with Two Singles, a Double, and 3 Runs Scored! Kelenic Stands in with a .265 Average and .699 OPS!
+ The OZ-MAN Continues to work his Magic! 2-4 with a Single, Double (Though he did get thrown out trying to stretch it for a Triple), Walk, and 2 RBIs! Albies stands firm with a .269 Average with an OPS of .725!
+ Arcia was able to contribute as well! 1-3 with a Single and RBI Sacrifice Fly. Arcia holds onto a .243 Average with a .665 OPS.
+ HAVE A DAY, MATT OLSON! 3-5 with a Single, Double, and a SOLO SUPER MISSILE THAT BOUNCED INTO THE ALLEGANY, Totaling 3 RBIs on the Day! Olson holds firm with a .230 Average, .744 OPS, and 8 Home Runs on the Season!
+ How about DUUUUVAL getting in on the Action? 1-5 with a SOLO SUPER MISSILE OF HIS OWN in the 8th! Duvall clings to a .207 Average, .683 OPS, and 4 Homers on the Year!
+ Even Travis d'Arnaud got to score one! 1-4 with a Double and an RBI Sacrifice Fly! d'Arnaud is now batting .268 with an OPS of .834!
+ OTHER NOTABLES: Michael Harris II had a 2-4 Day, while Marcell Ozuna, despite going 0-3, was Walked Twice. Zack Short was the ONLY Brave to not get a hit, going 0-3 with 2 Ks.
- DISASTER AVERTED.... AGAIN. Consistency continues to elude the Braves, but a Win to Avoid the Sweep is always good... ESPECIALLY against the DRUNK Sailors of Pittsburgh. Still, Acuna's Injury puts a SERIOUS Damper on a 3-3 Road Trip where the Braves remain Inconsistent and CAN'T get the Engine Started Long-Term, not to mention the Starting Rotation getting Thinner with each passing day. Crossing my fingers that the Upcoming Homestand will be JUST what the Braves Need to Recalibrate the Team as a Whole.

The Pirates will get a Bye before Traveling on the Ohio Turnpike and I-75 to the Motor City, where the Detroit Tigers will battle them in a Short Two Game Series. Tarik Skubal will answer the call for the Tigers, looking to bounce back from a rough outing against Kansas City, allowing 4 Runs on 6 Hits in just 5 Innings of Work. Meanwhile, Jared Jones will take the rubber for the Pirates, Who's coming off a Decent Start against the Giants, Allowing 3 Runs on 6 Hits in 6 Innings of Work in a No Decision.

@matth7260 I have. They win enough to get paid. They were lucky enough to win it 2021, they had a "historical" year last year just to get stomped in the playoffs. Typical Braves.

I’m not worried that much about the Braves. Sucks to lose a player like Acuna but let’s be honest they do just fine without him. It’s more the team as a unit that has to be on for the team to be the best. Record is still great and so many games left. PhiLLies won’t be on fire forever

I’m a Mets fan but I hope Acuña from this injury I feel bad for him he was having a bad year already but it got worse I hope for a speedy recovery and to see him back again, baseball needs players like him.

I’ve got a feeling Acuña will be okay. Might be out for a month but maybe that can be a good thing for him. Sometimes you need something like this to make you hungry to get back out there and play some ball.

Looks like Acuna will be out for a bit before he returns, but he needs some time off as he just doesn't look near the player of last year and not even remotely close. So many injuries to this team all season, and the bats over the last 30 games have been abysmal. Hope we can stay within 5 or 6 of Phils until all star break, their schedule gets tougher after the all star break and ours is easier plus maybe by then, we actually get hot at the plate but this team has been difficult to watch at the plate the last month mostly. Sale is an absolute beast out there. Him and Lopez have been outstanding this year and so has Ozuna for the most part. Rest of the line up offensively, not living up to what we are capable of. Period
Have you ever seen anything like this, lineup-wise? Everyone outside of Ozuna has just been “depreciating” from a numbers standpoint…those batting averages are ugly.
Acuna has clearly been holding back out of fear of getting injured. You can see it in every single game. When he jumps for balls he is guarded, he doesn't hustle to the ball when balls are hit in the corner. When it comes to defense, he is only half the man he used to be. I think it's time to consider DH for him. Only one problem with that. Ozuna. Ozuna has been amazing so we don't want to bench him. But yeah, Acuna has been super guarded over his movements and it is effecting the team. Though a small effect currently but it's like a cancer and spreads.
@wrmonahan30 ozuna is in final year of his contract isn't he? Not sure if Braves will pursue him or not given the past off-field problems he had. Not being judgmental of him, just speaking whether the Braves organization decides to keep him or not. No idea what AA is thinking on that topic. I could be wrong, but I thought Ozuna was in the final year of his contract with us.
@@jb4054I think the Braves will let Fried and Ozuna both walk after this season. Just seems to be what they do.
@acrane1100 Fried is def gone. Ozuna possibly unless he is willing to accept a lot less. If we do let Ozuna walk, we have a major hole at DH, in my opinion. Without him there so far this year, I bet we have 6 to 10 more losses right now at the minimum. He has been huge in several games for us this year. You may be correct, though. We shall see how it turns out.

As I've said since the 2nd half of last year, Arcia is lifetime .246 hitter. He didn't get off to that hot start as he did last year so it's gonna be more obvious as the year progresses that he's not a starter, offensively. I don't believe AA will settle for a .240 hitter that will hit maybe 15 homers in a good year. Bring up a young guy. Arcia is the backup we knew he was.
One of the best defensive SS in the game. If the offense performs anywhere near its potential Arcia can hit .240 all season long and AA won’t give 2 💩.

My heart breaks for Ronnie. Another season ending injury to the opposite knee is absolutely brutal. Wish him a speedy recovery and an absolute monster season when he comes back.
This off-season the Braves should make it mandatory that Acunas not play in any winter league games or any games other than the ones he plays for them. He should use the off-season to rest his body and get healthy

Snitker is to blame. I have been watching him for years with his horrible ability to stop, start, twist, jump, land. Someone should have tutored him and controlled him a little bit more and told him to go 90 percent instead of 100. He does not know how to protect his ligaments and tendons from reckless movements. He is the worst athlete I have ever seen when it comes to this. Someone should have hired a coach to work with him on his body mechanics and broke those habits that a 6 year old has when they first starts sports

Ronald Acuna is the clumbiest ball player i have ever seen and I have played for 20 and watched for 30. He is almost like a non athlete on the field. This injury reminds me of when he blew his knee out. He needs mental therapy about how to play the game and not be so careless. He also is the worst base runner i have ever seen

An athlete has to have a certain degree of knowledge about when to let up at the last moment in order to prevent a major injury, he is completely clueless when it comes to this. He has great hand eye coordination and has great speed on the bases and can hit a ball and is a great player, you are acting like I am saying he is a horrible player, dude I have not said that. Usually, I ignore comments like yours. Just except that somebody might know a little bit more than you about something okay little buddy. I am sure you know a lot about things I don't.
