Hey Jeff! Just some terms/info that we use not nit picking just giving some info: The "Tri-axel" is commonly, at least on the west coast is just called a drop axle or a drop. The part that goes from the 5th wheel to the trailer is called the jeep. The very back of the trailer is called a booster rather than a dolly. A dolly is a removable 5th wheel set up that connects two smaller trailers together, like if you were pulling doubles or triples. all of the extra axles and length help span the weight over a greater distance. EDIT: Source I drive dump truck, Side dump Occasionally lowboy.
Drop, tag or lift axle. We hear it any way here in MT. I only have my class b so haven’t driven anything heavy, but used to drive a tandem axle tank wagon (bulk fuel delivery truck) with a tag axle. Now I drive a desk and tell the guys driving those trucks where to go!
Boy, does this bring back some memories! I was a heavy hauler for 20 years, and loved it. Even with the same load the next day would bring new challenges. Most eastern states wouldn't let you travel on interstate highways. I noticed you don't have a pole car behind the police escort on some of those high loads. That would be scary. My vehicle was a KW 900 with a 21 speed tranny and a Cat engine. I believe at the time it was a 425 horsepower engine. I could also adjust the pressure on the lift axle, even while I was moving. .
I'm loving the special transport jobs. I ended up doing the same route you did in the last video. The escort vehicle did indeed stop like in your video. I remembered what you said in this one, and when I checked the outside view, there was a car and truck in front of the rear escort vehicle. Once they went by, the lead escort vehicle changed lanes and continued on. It seems to be working as intended. I did get stuck in traffic at the light in Sierra Vista. One car refused to move through the light, so I had to save and reload. It wasn't going to move otherwise. Hope they can get that cleared up.
Jeff, I heard somewhere they were working on Oregon and Special Transport at the same time, they didn't want to put it in Oregon b4 before Oregon was even done.
'American Truck Redemption' (ST-DLC, redeemed!): you might actually get 'red eye' on this one - ha and, '3rd Axle Blind', there's your new band name - All the red/blue lights, seems like familiar territory too and, hopefully last yet, not least - It does astound me how IRL drivers and AI seem to 'think' alike! Cheers - (I can't be helped) 😎 ☀️
About the bridge transport, I was coming home from a hockey game Friday night and some trucks pulling bridge parts had police escorts. Annoying but also cool to see.
Raise your third axle making turns then put it back on the ground, this can be done while rolling also. If you’re not loaded no need to put it on the ground.
Gidday Jeff, you got an easy drop off today. The two I did last night were absolute shockers, both requiring multiple repositions to get it in the slot.
My stepdad owns and operates his own pilot trucking company and he rarely if ever has police running with his drivers. And alot of his runs are with Sin-crude. and my dad is a trucker and its just not common.
Yeah its durastress out of lake county. They run all of there stuff at night with like 20 fhp escorts. Its really cool to watch. They have the lock down on florida when it comes to pre cast bridge beams.
hey jeff you don't need to stop to lift axel down the proper name is called a tag axel so you can drive and just set it down same with picking it up just thought you would likw to know and congrats buddy
I am just getting into oversize load pilot and technically with that size of a load would have to have a high pole escort. Meaning the front car would have to have a pole attached to the front set no less than 6 inches higher than the load to make sure that no overhead obstacles would cause damage to the load and vise-versa. Just found your videos and hope to be getting the game soon!
you can also stay well in the lane, without crossing the solid white, if you notice the traffic coming to pass actually moves well to the left to pass you in a wide load like this. Myself, I don't know if it's a bug or not, but any of the special transports I've done haven't gotten escorts. but I suppose I haven't taken the bigger ones yet. I just for the life of me cant back these up to park correctly. since you cant steer that rear dolly independently.
Great vid Jeff and there's going to be another trucking game called Truck Driver and it's coming out sometime next year and it's going to be on PC, XBOX ONE and PS4 and it's the same developers that made Pure Farming can't wait until Truck Driver comes out
It'd be interesting to see SCS or a mod offer a rocket's first-stage as a cargo option, unless they already do (I don't own/play the game, I just love watching these ATS vids).
I live in Orlando, well Apopka actualy and ive seen those bridge transports on several ocasions. Pretty cool to see. At fist I thought they were transporting nuclear missles lol awesome video btw this game is addictive
That Peterbilt you drive is a Rusty Nail's truck from Joyride 3. Also the CB radio in your rig remindes me of the cherokee nightrider radio used in first movie in the student's car. You know what i mean if you watched the movie.
@@sellinsizzurp Well Rusty Nail used Peterbilt 359 in Joyride 3 that looks like this in the video. At least it looks like to me. I think this one Peterbilt that was used in the video was from 70's as it was in the movie. In the movie it was a 1974 Peterbilt 359 EXHD. It has sam lights as that truck in the video.
Typely over size load take place at night because there isnt alot of people on the roads and they can get people to raise power wires and everything else without dangering peoples lifes. And it depends on the load also because it might be oversize but doesnt need a ton of attention.
The body of the Nissan 350z also has an aluminium/aluminum body and it still got painted. Also, the pilot car adapts its speed to yours, so you can go up to 40mph if you wanted to. The pilot car will never go above 40mph though so you can't go any faster than that.
I did a special transport out of Phoenix and the game basically made me do an immediate U turn to get out of the company and on to the road and they put a cop car right in the way. It was literally impossible to get out without hitting it despite restarting a few times. lol the spawn points of some of these missions are ridiculous.
The pilot cars will speed up to 40 if there is no one in front of them. You just gotta keep accelerating. It will feel like you're gonna catch up to them but they will speed up from my experience.
I’m yet to purchase any dlc for ATS but they look great! Did you notice any performance difference once you installed them? My gpu is pretty maxed running stock ATS on high settings
I run am old AMD quad core with a clapped out GTX 760 and I average 40-50 FPS on high. Mind you, thats with all the DLC's minus the paint jobs and with probably 20 mods.
Is there a special program you have to add on to the American Truck Simulator to get the escort from the Police ? I have the Special Transport and Heavy Load on it all ready ?
As long as he doesn't exceed 40mph. That's the max. speed you can go without ramming into the back of the police car. Unless you're in a town where the speed limit is lower, like 35mph or 25mph. But the actual speed limit is always shown on the GPS screen.
To add to what you've already learned, and in response to the first video, yes you do get priority, however that only applies when the road is clear at junctions, if there's traffic ahead act as normal within the law. Also in Europe special/heavy transport escorting is different, I'm not familiar with the US, but seems police are required at all times and will lead, whilst company escort vehicle will follow. I can't speak for all of Europe as it varies country to country on what regulations need to be adhered to, but I'll talk about the UK (Europe is generally the same). Usually it is up to the transporting company to handle routing and escorting, whether in house or outsourced, you'll always have one escort/pilot vehicle which will provide both front and rear duties as and when required, usually the escort vehicle will sit at the rear to close and open the back door for providing space or safety reasons, then will overtake and close junctions and control traffic if needed. A second escort vehicle may also be used depending on load and routing. Police are not required for many loads, however when loads exceed weight, width or length regulations (I don't know the "trigger" point) or routes through particular busy streets or challenging narrow local routes, than police are required to assist. Certain loads will only be permitted to travel at night, and in Europe, Germany definitely, this is triggered by width. There will also be speed restrictions depending on load, so it's not too out of the question to drive slower. You might be able to find a UK series (4 seasons) called Supertruckers, maybe on Discovery or online, featuring Kings haulage, then later is the series featuring Metcalfe Farms haulage which would demonstrate what I've said.
Looks like a fantastic game but I can see why you need to talk about random conversation's.. or it would just be boring for the viewers. But love the vids dude wish it would come to console... the engine brake is so sexy lol

@Cows Go but you have actual Tri Axles though that runs, The Company i worked with all their Trailers have Tri Axles we haul Lumber, Steel and Cement

21 gears? that's crazy
Dude, you drove right into my hometown in ATS. Passed the shop too. Working on a custom 389 cow hauler right now. Fantastic trucking come on!
I'm always ready to eat when you say somethings about food
Nice looking rig Jeff!

The “off-brand” news trucks are hilarious! CNB and FNOX were covering that run.
My 2 year old son loves watching your truck simulator videos he loves tractors trucks and semis
You're actually teaching people to drive Tractor Trailers keep it up! And way to go!
Makes me want to jump back into ATC. Thanks for all the fantastic entertainment Jeff!

"We should be pretty good here..."
*Turns around*
"OH GOD"
Comedy Gold.
the pilot car match your speed....if u go 40 they will go forty

jeff the max oversize/ over weight permitted is 55 mph. it aslo depends on the state.
hey jeff some other videos ive watched the front pilot vehicle matches your speed untill you go over the speed limit then you catch up with it
"88 miles an hour, Marty!!!"
Yeah, certainly not in this scene.
Gidday Jeff, you got an easy drop off today. The two I did last night were absolute shockers, both requiring multiple repositions to get it in the slot.
Battlefield V is great Jeff. I was kinda on the fence about it as well but after playing some of the SP campaign & trying out the MP, I love it!
Congrats Jeff!!!🎉🎊🤵👰
My stepdad owns and operates his own pilot trucking company and he rarely if ever has police running with his drivers. And alot of his runs are with Sin-crude. and my dad is a trucker and its just not common.
Love that haul that’s awesome and the rig pulling sounds amazing 🤩
I have updated all versions last week.oregon and New Mexico.i use metric no imperial.nice game
that CB is a dead ringer for my sideband radio i had.
Jeff, if you speed up, the squad car will too, up to 40 mph.
Yeah its durastress out of lake county. They run all of there stuff at night with like 20 fhp escorts. Its really cool to watch. They have the lock down on florida when it comes to pre cast bridge beams.

There is special transport loads in Portland, OR and Ontario, OR in ATS.
you can also stay well in the lane, without crossing the solid white, if you notice the traffic coming to pass actually moves well to the left to pass you in a wide load like this.

When you mention about section of bridges in Orlando, they are likely bringing them to the Tampa area for some sections of I-75 they are working on.
Glad to see you back I was one did not leave but don,t watch Farm Sim much
I liked the police lights at nighttime
What would be cool for the silo is if the devs had you take a dirt road to get to the destination.
I know all the different simulator games, but I haven't heard of this one. I have a friend that this would be a good gift for.
you should get GTM's emergency lights mod so the CHP lights look legit
In my town there was a 20 vehicle convoy for a huge rocket
It'd be interesting to see SCS or a mod offer a rocket's first-stage as a cargo option, unless they already do (I don't own/play the game, I just love watching these ATS vids).
The truck is missing the front OVERSIZE sign..! Another thing.. Oversize loads aren't legal on the road after sunset.
Send It depends on the state actually.
You can lower your lift axle without stopping
Very nice truck. It looks like a good heavy haul or logging truck. It needs a headache rack though. They should make this for consoles
Agreed
Yeah itd b nice if they did make it for consoles..it does have a headache rack, strobes are attached to it up top
Love this DLC please do more videos.
Yes great vid 👍
Love this game and the special transport jobs.
God I love that colour scheme. Wow
the way you talk how you talk and the things you makes your video not to be boring keep it up
Lovee yoouuurrrr videos
Cool looking video. If my RC trucks & construction equipment didn't take up my spare time, I'd have to try this simulator out. It looks like FUN!
I live in Orlando, well Apopka actualy and ive seen those bridge transports on several ocasions. Pretty cool to see. At fist I thought they were transporting nuclear missles lol awesome video btw this game is addictive
They need to add this game to ps4
Greg Munson oath
Yes yhay do I only have that as a ps
@@marcusburckhard8813 just build a pc, its not that expensive compared to how much the ps4 pro is these days trust me
Also Xbox
They have plans to but not untill the game has enough dlc
Hey Jeff. I'm a new subscriber... I love your videos man! Keep up the good work!
Level 137,007. Good lord. You're the God of trucking.
HELL YES I’m ready for BATTLEFIELD V
there is a mod to go faster during special transports probably can find it in the steam workshop
Great video! 👍

Always make enough room more than u need to make sure
Jeff love your vids keep up the good work
Good thing is u dont have to stop at stop signs or anything. If they have everything set up for u like they’re supposed too.
What you saw in Orlando the bridge peices I work for that company it's called durastress
Jeff, you have the coolest voice! Your commentary is always so awesome!
I did a special transport out of Phoenix and the game basically made me do an immediate U turn to get out of the company and on to the road and they put a cop car right in the way. jeff please make a video on how u install your mods I don't trust anyone else
Go to the steam workshop and subscribe to the mods you want, steam then installs them for you, problem solved & no video needed.
Bro your a god at the corners am a subscriber
Throwback to ice road truckers
The Deck of that Trailer is 50 ft., to give you an Idea of that dimesions.
wow, that's pretty damn long!
You should do something like this on ocrp
Cool video dude
Your good at swing that big trailar
Its cool to see that the AI hug the yellow line when they pass you on the interstate.
The pilot cars will speed up to 40 if there is no one in front of them. You just gotta keep accelerating. It will feel like you're gonna catch up to them but they will speed up from my experience.
love the escort vehicles and the light bar on the truck
That truck peterbilt are some awsome trucks but next time try it with an international
Bro I'm not gonna lied but I miss u
I thought they raised the speed limit in Cali. As Sammy Hagar once said, " I can't drive 55!!!!!!"
I like this it looks kool!
You can still get a brand new Delorian.
Are there any kind of sound mod packs to use to hear sound from the CB radios when there is one in the trucks? That would be a cool feature.
Hey Jeff!
I didn't know you live in Orlando! I work at a music store in town and I love watching all your truck and bus videos!!

Oversized load and big farm equipment go down the road/highway late at night

Jeff, the lead pilot car AI will match your speed... the whole time you were tooling along at 20mph was for no reason, lol.

The entrance to Interstate 99 looks like the one in GTA.
Time for some more TruckersMP?
Not until they put AI in it
Are there any games similar to this for Xbox 1 ? Wish this game was on console!
Great job Jeff you didn’t break it this time
You even tip the pilot cars it’s game over
shouldnt have been able to make that turn with the lift axle down
