So two VERY interesting facts of note: 1: Togemon X heavily resembles Ponchomon, but without the ghostly vibes. 2: Ponchomon's lore implies that they made be born naturally from the data of defeated/dead Togemon. This may just be a triple reference. That Ponchomon resembles Togemon X (similar to how Alteros Mode and Sagitarrius mode resemble MetalGreymon X and WereGarurumon X), that Patamon becomes Ponchomon via the DigiMental of Sincerity, and that Ponchomon is basically a slide evolution for Togemon. Ponchomon is strangely enough nowhere in Palmon's regular Digivolution Tree, so direct physical contact with Patamon was necessary for this branch to occur - both to draw Ponchomon's Data and for the Ancient Species Data that's missing from Palmon's code that would otherwise prevent an Armor Evolution from being possible...
So grateful they brought back Etemon's original voice actor Masutani Yasunori to reprising his role, his singing and style like everything, I was literally screaming when he used "Dark Spirits", miss his old BGM. Same as Volcamon, who voiced by Kensuke Ōta, reprising his roles since Frontier.
Oh, this episode was an absolute joy. It had good character interactions, a brand new evolution, and plot progression. I can limit it to those simple factors but something beyond that made this episode really good and I cannot quite word it out. Maybe the structure just felt more unique from what we had, maybe it was just cute seeing the team's interactions throughout this whole ordeal, maybe it is something else entirely. I honestly cannot put my finger on it.
I really wasn't a fan of Mimi in the original series but she's becoming one of my favourite characters in the reboot. Still behind Izzy, who I'm also glad to see is getting some good episodes, but might be ahead of Joe for me now. Though the Burgermon episode is still the best overall
I really love how this episode brings back the charm of the original series, I got so heartfelt and nostalgic lmao. Also, I feel like by the end of this series, Mimi will have her own battalion. I mean, if you guys rewind from her debut episode to all her solo episodes, she always managed to make friends with the digimon: her debut kingdom episode, Guardromon (?), that company / kingdom / gemstone cave episode and now Etemon and Volcamon (two ultimates!). If she isn’t crowned as a leader, then idk what is. This might sound like a flex but it has to be made, only Mimi so far has managed to recruit or befriend a lot of digimon compared to her friends in the group, more so than Taichi. And I love that.
Mimi and palmon seriously have gotten so strong, they defeated 6 ultimate digimons on record so far, she literally stepped up and somewhat surpassed Yamato, both in character development and leadership., and is comparable to taichi
I’m very hopeful that it’s setting up a 02 reimagining! Ever since seeing that five of the seven holy Digimon are each related to the non-Wormmon rookies from 02, I’ve been sure that 02 is on the minds of the writers. After seeing that Magnadramon and Goldramon are the holy megas for this season, I see this series as being the first part of Hikari and Takeru’s story. And now that armor evolutions are popping up, I think that we will be getting a lot of 02-themed surprises in the near future!
Fun fact: This is not the first time Ponchomon appeared in the anime. In the frontier episode where Tommy gets his B spirit, a Ponchomon appears in the background!
This was a fun episode, made even better by the *complete* surprise Ponchomon. I really wasn't expecting a new Adult/Armor this late in the game, and I certainly wasn't expecting an obscure goofball like Ponchomon. I love that Adventure: is still able to surprise us even now when it felt (at least to me) like we had everything figured out in terms of new evolutions.
I would like to point out and kind of theorize that the human items falling into the Digital World after the black lightning are what resulted in Volcamon and Etemon where they both ended up coming into contact with sound equipment during their supposed training to reach the top. Etemon found a bunch of sound equipment and somehow got those working and he used them to set up his stage along with a guitar he found. Same for Volcamon where he must have found a Mic. What I am getting at is there is a chance the human appliances falling into the digital world is starting to have an effect on the native Digimon in that continent. As for Ponchomon, what Koshiro said in the episode was the sound resonance causing an irregular evolution due to all the Chosen digimon's data being scrambled. Not to mention Digimon regularly evolve differently based on how they are raised and in this case the maracas also had a role to play in Palmon evolving to Ponchomon. However, if it's supposedly an armor evolution of Patamon using the Digiegg of Purity, I guess because Palmon "ate" Patamon and because their data were still ragged, some of Patamon's data might have gotten mixed with Palmon during evolution. Putting all that aside, that DIM card since it was not mentioned, because of black lightning and falling human world items. Tailmon was no longer able to recognize the road to FAGA but Koshiro after inserting the DIM card into his pad created, it created timelapse geography of the entire continent currently and the geography of the continent in the past allowing Tailmon to once again lead the way to FAGA. Timelapse mapping helps with detailing of changes in land geography.
Ok, I would like to say that, the part where Mimi took Izzy's tablet and played with it some how reminded me about the episode in the original. When Tai and Agumon both tried to attack his original computer.
This shocked me even more so than the "Pegasusmon" episode! WHAT A SURPRISE! (Now I'm REALLY hoping that we will see *Nefertimon* in the next episode too! :D) Also, the episode titles from (44 to 47) have been revealed and I'm REALLY HYPED for *episodes 45 and 46* in particular! :D
So far we've witnessed different digivolution methods that involve interactions with the Chosen Children: 1.) Through environmental anomalies: MetalGreymon to BlitzGreymon 2.) Influence: Chewmon to Searchmon via Koshiro's influence 3.) Digimon lore aid: Palmon to Ponchomon whilst Patamon was in there (possible connection) 4.) Variation evolution: Patamon to Pegasmon then to Angemon (that's weird) Correct me if I'm wrong and tell me if I missed anything.
I think everyone should stop thinking about Digimon 02, this show is not a direct reboot by any mean. beside the characters this show is completely different. If they will make Season 2, I think we will only get the Golden Digimentals, since they are not connected to the other chosen children.
I’m thinking if anything, those eggs in the original season 2 just were there. Maybe these alternate evolutions, which seem to be oddities, are what create the eggs and thus they have an actual origin for the next season if they go there.
what i understand in that evolution is it can be category to champion and armor but what Koushiro said is they digivolve by absorbing or adopting do to nature or environment like what happen to metalgreymon evolving to blitz greymon . thats why i like the Digimon adventure 2020 because their digivolution got affected by environment which not happen in the old series.
I smiled from ear to ear the whole episode, personality was overflowing in every second of it, we didn't have seconds of outstanding animation, but rather the whole episode was fluid, you could see the writer having fun in this, and Ponchomon was the cherry on top, one of my favorite episodes!
2 episodes in a row where the enemy Digimon wasn’t killed!? :O It was nice seeing Etemon wasn’t expecting him. I loved Etemon from the original English dub. I hope we can see Metal Etemon and Myotismon. They’re definitely building up all these Digimon that the Digidestined have sort of befriended to come fight in the battle against Millenniumon. It’s kinda like Goku where his enemies become his allies or even friends.
For Nefertimon to appear Gatomon should go back to rookie level (Salamon) 'cause it won't make sense for a champion digimon to digivolve into.... another champion level... in 02 it did kinda make sense since they made the excuse that Gatomon lost her holy ring and therefore was not as strong as before. I would love to see Salamon > Nefertimon > [insert X ultimate digimon here] > Holydramon (it makes sense because they all would be "beast digimons" the same as they are doing with Patamon > Pegasusmon > [insert X ultimate digimon here] > Goddramon. Basically having 2 digivolution lines, a human-angel one and a holy-beast one. It would be really cool.
The Armor level doesn't sit in a concrete place on the evolution tiers. In other media where the Armor level isn't used they become anything from Champion/Adult (Ponchomon) to Mega/Ultimate (Magnamon). What's more is that the Digimon Encyclopedia segment for Pegasusmon listed his evolution stage as ???, so the status of Armor Digimon in this continuity is still up in the air.

Yes, technically armor is "another level" in itself...but according to the "history of digimon" (lol) the armor level was achieved by some ancient digimons and only decendants from those digimons are able to use the digi eggs to get to the armor level (patamon, veemon, hawkmon....) and that happened basically bc they weren't able to get to the champion level. The only "ultimate" (or perfect level) of armor digimon we have are Magnamon and Rapidmon (gold) and (someone correct me of i'm wrong) i think Mgnamon can also be mega level (only when being a royal knight). But anyways, according to the anime and all the context we got from the armor it's pretty safe to assume that the armor level it equivalent to the champion level (except magnamon). In fact, in this season, Pegasusmon is presented to us as a "champion" level, just a different digivolution line, that's all. Same with Ponchomon. And the power of a digimon is not necesarilly related to it's level, for example, in this season Angemon being able to battle with DarkKnigtmon or with WaruMonzaemon, or MagnaAngemon figting with Piedmon. I guess it will be what they want it to be...LOL it always bothered me the ambiguity of the armor level to be honest xD i just assumed that the golden digi eggs made perfect level digimons and the rest of the digieggs made just champion level digimons xD We'll see what happens. (sorry for the long post, i can't talk with anybody about digimon... :')
Honestly i dont care about a 02 remake, it's cool to see these armor digimon be available as essentailly alternate champion forms, which is great cause in 02 once champion digivoloving was possible the armor digimon stopped being relevant. Each iteration of the digiworld in each series is different so its fair game to change some of the rules regarding digivolution, personally i perfer Pegasumon to angemon as patamon's champion.
It should also be noted that Panchomon was also an ultimate evolution of Togemonas well... In overall Digimon canon, not only do Digimon have alternative evolutions, but there are multiple evolutions where different digimon can digivolve into the same Digimon (unlike Pokemon). And Armor evolutions have regular evolution versions as well (same Digimon, but the Digimon doesn't armor digivolve, just regular digivolve). Digimon have more variations in evolution than Pokemon cause they're just data...
It’s crazy to think that the original Etemon could have been defeated easily... if they just gave Palmon a pair of maracas lmao. Another Mimi highlight episode and I’m loving it. Even if it’s “filler”, this is still a very fun episode to watch. That Ponchomon digivolution was definitely a surprise and opens possibilities for more character appearances in the future. And lmao at Matt trying to find Gabumon. Can’t wait for a possible Nefertimon or Plotmon/Salamon appearance next week!
Been keeping up with ur channel big fan of Digimon since the first one so I watched adventure 2020 but this episode right here was top 3 of adventure 2020 for me top notch episode
The Digi-Eggs/Digimentals seem to have gone the same way as the crests, from the original run. I.E. The kids already have access to their crests/eggs when they were chosen. They just need to show the associated traits to use them. This is likely a backdoor pilot concept for a new adventure 02 run. We won't have the second team looking around the digital world looking for the eggs. Rather, when Davis/Daisuke and Veemon show courage, Flamedramon evolves. Like when T.K./Takeru and Patamon showed hope for their predicament and suddenly we got Pegasusmon. Or with this, Mimi and Palmon showing sincere determination we get Ponchomon. This run is easing us into the idea of alternate forms and varied evolution paths.
The preview for this episode had me skeptical but to my surprise it was wonderful. It was hilarious and exciting, especially given how the sounds Volcamon and Etemon were emitting were driving the kids' Digimon crazy. I sincerely hope that both Volcamon and Etemon return at some point as part of the resistance. Also, Ponchomon as a side evolution for Palmon is fantastic. Although I don't particularly like that Ponchomon as an Armor digimon, it is still a very cool Digimon and this being an alternate for Palmon was completely unexpected but not unwelcome. Not only that but I'm glad the flash drive actually has a purpose which is a literal GPS which is really cool and will be interesting to see where they go with it. Overall this was a very good episode. Also if you read Volcamon's profile, he is in fact a rival to Etemon, both him and his mega form. So it is great to see an episode incorporate that rivalry.
As much as a I like this ep I don't think the rest will be enough to develop the story like we still have their "mega evolution" episodes and then the climax? Hopefully they'll make a second season ala xros cuz I don't want this to be rushed. Though something we can confirm this ep us that yeah the writers totally have a bias with Mimi and I'm pretty sure they wish they could do more with her if Tai wasn't the centric character or they had tooooo much characters to develop. Give Mimi a spinoff.
Loved it. Ponchomon resulting from Palmon evolving with Patamon involved is great. Patamon becomes Ponchomon with the digiegg of purity (sincerity), Mimi’s crest. So happy with the reboot 🥳
It an armor digivolution, normally it Patamon with the digiegg of serenity, which is Patamon line code, so when Patamon is stuck in palmon’s bloom palmon and patamon’s code which was copied allow palmon to armor digivolve. Armor is an ancient form of DNA digivolving with the code of one in the form of an egg. This also explains how Patamon can digivolve into Pegasusmon without the egg of Hope, cause it already part of Patamon’s code which apparently was locked.
This was definitely a great episode. Pretty much all the Mimi centeed ones are. I loved the energy that the "villains" of this episode brought, especially Etemon. My favorite part tho would have to be poor Mat just in the background worried sick about his boy Gabumon.
Well if episode list from wiki is true next week will be hikari episode and after that metal garurumon. I hope its true coz i hope all of them have mega evo before they meet final boss. And mimi episode somehow always spesial...
Just to simply things based on the visual of Ponchomon, the Maracas can play a big part in the digivolution like what impmon's champion(?) or ultimate evolution got that blast mode out of a toy gun in Digimon Tamers. Cause it been a know fact even during the 1st Digimon Adventure game, you can digivolve any digimon to a specific evolution using a specific item. So that maracas CAN be a special item like how Nunemon can evolve to a Monzaemon by going to the bear suit.
I mean, to be honest if anyone was going to get a sudden Armour Evolution in this situation, it would have to be Mimi... remember how she rolled with slightly whacky situations in the original Digimon Adventure? xD Kind of like "What the...? Yeah okay, let's go with this."
02 confirmed??? My opinion is Yes They never talk about what level is the Digimon it's probably because there will be something important about Armor in the future.
I kind of wish they had Etemon singing Love Serenade but how the episode was done helped me get over it. Plus, this Mimi episode is another reminder that she's helped build a potential (extra) army with other digimon when the time comes when the chosen children face off against Millineummon's army.
It'll be a big cliche if all of them died cause of melliniumon, then triggers lilymon to rosemon, I hope rosemon debute in some unthinkable way. And the others too
Hmm, correct me if I'm wrong, but~ from what I watch the Zero Two series... one of the episode they did mention about restoring the Digital World by sacrifice the Power of the Crest. By after restore, the 4 Holy Beast active/restore the Ancient Evolution (Armor Egg) Which mean the Armor Egg it's gone or never exist during the 1999 Adventure, until the Digidestined restore the world. (like from Armor Egg become Crest, and return to Egg again) So with current 2020 ver, it could be possible the same theory, the Armor Egg been destroyed during the Ancient War, and currently is the Crest form in the Digivice I guess? and all the Digimon still able to evo to different evolution line by the Crest Power instead of using Armor P.S: Just my POV and theory only~ don't take it serious. :P
Anyone else just want them to introduce Davis and the other kids into this series? Maybe they could re-boot the whole Dark Ocean stuff, and find Ken there? He could either be there with his brother(I'd cry a lot), or even Ryo since we know he was with Ken for a while. The only issue I can see is their ages, since they would either need to be aged down to the same ages they were in 01(that would be weird since Cody would be a baby), or keep them the same age as they were in 02 and just not have to deal with Davis's denial of the word "no" when it comes from Kari. Actually, let's just go with that last one, that whole half baked love triangle was never done well.
The Reboot is trying to introduce branch Evolution. Yes, this can be used to introduce Armor digivolution, but the orginal idea for digimon was made in the games where you can evolve them base off there stats/environment. Etamon and co. are Virus-types so naturally Palmon would be Ponchomon who is a Virus type. I can only guess Izzy is gonna make the Armor eggs as a contigency plan in case the digi-destines can't deal with X threat Also the bit where Patamon was in Palmon's hair. It's actually a elemental exclusive skill called Root Breaker where Plant- types can drain other digimon's HP.
With all these side evolutions, I wonder will Gabumon get a new evolution since he doesn't have the Garurumon's skin. Like a more reptile one? I'm guessing not.
Is the show still only 60 episodes or has it been confirmed to be longer? Or maybe it will have a cliffhanger ending and then we get 02? I bring this up because 60 episodes seems kinda short compared to how long Dragonball Super and GeGeGe no Kitaro were. The first being 131 episodes and the other close to 100 episodes.
Perhaps we are underestimating how much can be done in 23 episodes, that's a little above 5 months of episodes. Granted I do understand the show's pacing has been relatively slow so far. But also consider every single arc in the original series was less than 23 episodes long. The Devimon arc was around 13 episodes long, the Etamon arc was around 8 episodes long, the Myotismon arc is 18 episodes long, and the Dark Master arc is 15 episodes long. There is enough room to make a satisfying last arc, though it is recommended the pacing be changed, which seems to be happening.

Totally the armor digi-egg in the digivolution sequence. Only armor digi-eggs have extra wings/pieces added to the eggs. A normal digi-egg is always a normal egg shape
This is an Alternate storyline, when you watch the Armor digimon Armor Digivolve you see the Forms of the original Digimon with that crest. Armor digivolving and Fusion aka DNA digivolving were introduced in this season. I believe that the DigiEggs are just that Digimon code, Hope is Patamon’s, Purity is Palmon’s and so on. Since Patamon + DE of Purity = Ponchomon so would Patamon + Palmon. This would also explain Patamon digivolving into Pegasusmon since it’s already in his code, it just a slide evolution.
I believe that Armor and DNA are the same, look at ExVeemon and Stingmon digivolving into Paildramon or Dinobeemon, they are both ExVeemon wearing Stingmon as Armor. So by this Aquilamon with DE of Light should digivolve into Silphymon, Hawkmon with the DE of Light becomes Harpiemon which could become Silphymon possibly.
I’ve stopped watching after like the first 10 episodes and only caught up with recaps and stuff, but I have no idea where this series is going. Like there’s only 20 episodes left and we’re just getting alternate digivolution after alternate digivolution. Is there even a main plot they’re following at this point?
So my theory is. Since they seem to link divivolution with the holy digimon , like Calumon in tamer. this time around. Maybe Angelwomon is link to mega, (since it would explain why only Augumon is able to go mega at this moment. Since he was empowered by angelwomon before) While Angelmon is link to armor egg. And Cherubimon is link to something else. (Fusion?)
Ponchomon is pretty much a hilarious Digimon and he did appear on Digimon tamers till this year. And if people are talking about armor digieggs are being outclassed by Sub/side Digivolutions then you might as well say this is an alternate and fusion of all series into one big reboot. Plus there’s also a possibility that there’s a new form of millenniumon or other enemies soon on the final episodes of this reboot series such as DoneDevimon/Nidhoggmon and a mysterious eye 👁 Digimon like cell that is close to ghoulmon but only an eye appeared after the countdown ends on episode 18. Sometimes people say millenniumon is the third antagonist but I don’t believe that. He’s the Main and final antagonist of this series! He’s quite OP!
Nice theory, but I don't think Patamon has as much to do with armor evolution as you think. We also already saw more armor evolution Digimon roaming around as normal Digimon, so I think they just chucked the digimental/digi-egg mechanic. These alternate evolutions are simply the result of environmental influence and strong need/desire. We saw something similar with BlitzGreymon, MetalGreymon Alteros mode, and WereGarurumon Sagittarius mode, where environment especially facilitated new powers/evolutions. It harkens back to Digimon's roots where depending on how a Digimon is raised, it can become multiple kinds of Digimon.

Ponchomon is strangely enough nowhere in Palmon's regular Digivolution Tree, so direct physical contact with Patamon was necessary for this branch to occur - both to draw Ponchomon's Data and for the Ancient Species Data that's missing from Palmon's code that would otherwise prevent an Armor Evolution from being possible...
So grateful they brought back Etemon's original voice actor Masutani Yasunori to reprising his role, his singing and style like everything, I was literally screaming when he used "Dark Spirits", miss his old BGM. Same as Volcamon, who voiced by Kensuke Ōta, reprising his roles since Frontier.
Kensuke Ota, or known as Pile Volcano Ota, was one of the creators of Digimon. Volcamon was created based on him.
Oh, this episode was an absolute joy. It had good character interactions, a brand new evolution, and plot progression. I can limit it to those simple factors but something beyond that made this episode really good and I cannot quite word it out. Maybe the structure just felt more unique from what we had, maybe it was just cute seeing the team's interactions throughout this whole ordeal, maybe it is something else entirely. I honestly cannot put my finger on it.

I really wasn't a fan of Mimi in the original series but she's becoming one of my favourite characters in the reboot. Still behind Izzy, who I'm also glad to see is getting some good episodes, but might be ahead of Joe for me now. Though the Burgermon episode is still the best overall
I really love how this episode brings back the charm of the original series, I got so heartfelt and nostalgic lmao. Also, I feel like by the end of this series, Mimi will have her own battalion. I mean, if you guys rewind from her debut episode to all her solo episodes, she always managed to make friends with the digimon: her debut kingdom episode, Guardromon (?), that company / kingdom / gemstone cave episode and now Etemon and Volcamon (two ultimates!). If she isn’t crowned as a leader, then idk what is. This might sound like a flex but it has to be made, only Mimi so far has managed to recruit or befriend a lot of digimon compared to her friends in the group, more so than Taichi. And I love that.
And she defeated more ultimate ( 6 in total) digimons than all of the digidestines on her own. Other than taichi
Mimi and palmon seriously have gotten so strong, they defeated 6 ultimate digimons on record so far, she literally stepped up and somewhat surpassed Yamato, both in character development and leadership., and is comparable to taichi

I’m very hopeful that it’s setting up a 02 reimagining! Ever since seeing that five of the seven holy Digimon are each related to the non-Wormmon rookies from 02, I’ve been sure that 02 is on the minds of the writers. After seeing that Magnadramon and Goldramon are the holy megas for this season, I see this series as being the first part of Hikari and Takeru’s story. And now that armor evolutions are popping up, I think that we will be getting a lot of 02-themed surprises in the near future!
Fun fact: This is not the first time Ponchomon appeared in the anime. In the frontier episode where Tommy gets his B spirit, a Ponchomon appears in the background!

Wouldn't be surprised if there's a season 2 that introduces the 02 cast. Yet a longer second season with two teams of protagonists would be great.
This was a fun episode, made even better by the *complete* surprise Ponchomon.
I really wasn't expecting a new Adult/Armor this late in the game, and I certainly wasn't expecting an obscure goofball like Ponchomon.
I love that Adventure: is still able to surprise us even now when it felt (at least to me) like we had everything figured out in terms of new evolutions.
I would like to point out and kind of theorize that the human items falling into the Digital World after the black lightning are what resulted in Volcamon and Etemon where they both ended up coming into contact with sound equipment during their supposed training to reach the top. Etemon found a bunch of sound equipment and somehow got those working and he used them to set up his stage along with a guitar he found. Same for Volcamon where he must have found a Mic. What I am getting at is there is a chance the human appliances falling into the digital world is starting to have an effect on the native Digimon in that continent.
As for Ponchomon, what Koshiro said in the episode was the sound resonance causing an irregular evolution due to all the Chosen digimon's data being scrambled. Not to mention Digimon regularly evolve differently based on how they are raised and in this case the maracas also had a role to play in Palmon evolving to Ponchomon. However, if it's supposedly an armor evolution of Patamon using the Digiegg of Purity, I guess because Palmon "ate" Patamon and because their data were still ragged, some of Patamon's data might have gotten mixed with Palmon during evolution.
Putting all that aside, that DIM card since it was not mentioned, because of black lightning and falling human world items. Tailmon was no longer able to recognize the road to FAGA but Koshiro after inserting the DIM card into his pad created, it created timelapse geography of the entire continent currently and the geography of the continent in the past allowing Tailmon to once again lead the way to FAGA. Timelapse mapping helps with detailing of changes in land geography.
Ok, I would like to say that, the part where Mimi took Izzy's tablet and played with it some how reminded me about the episode in the original. When Tai and Agumon both tried to attack his original computer.

Palmon to Ponchomon whilst Patamon was in there (possible connection)
4.) Variation evolution:
Patamon to Pegasmon then to Angemon (that's weird)

I think everyone should stop thinking about Digimon 02, this show is not a direct reboot by any mean. beside the characters this show is completely different.
If they will make Season 2, I think we will only get the Golden Digimentals, since they are not connected to the other chosen children.
I’m thinking if anything, those eggs in the original season 2 just were there. Maybe these alternate evolutions, which seem to be oddities, are what create the eggs and thus they have an actual origin for the next season if they go there.

what i understand in that evolution is it can be category to champion and armor but what Koushiro said is they digivolve by absorbing or adopting do to nature or environment like what happen to metalgreymon evolving to blitz greymon . thats why i like the Digimon adventure 2020 because their digivolution got affected by environment which not happen in the old series.

I smiled from ear to ear the whole episode, personality was overflowing in every second of it, we didn't have seconds of outstanding animation, but rather the whole episode was fluid, you could see the writer having fun in this, and Ponchomon was the cherry on top, one of my favorite episodes!

It was nice seeing Etemon wasn’t expecting him. I loved Etemon from the original English dub. I hope we can see Metal Etemon and Myotismon. They’re definitely building up all these Digimon that the Digidestined have sort of befriended to come fight in the battle against Millenniumon. It’s kinda like Goku where his enemies become his allies or even friends.

This was a good episode, but I did find it strange that they had singing Digimon wanting to be Digimon King and Shoutmon did not show up.
For Nefertimon to appear Gatomon should go back to rookie level (Salamon) 'cause it won't make sense for a champion digimon to digivolve into.... another champion level... in 02 it did kinda make sense since they made the excuse that Gatomon lost her holy ring and therefore was not as strong as before.
I would love to see Salamon > Nefertimon > [insert X ultimate digimon here] > Holydramon (it makes sense because they all would be "beast digimons" the same as they are doing with Patamon > Pegasusmon > [insert X ultimate digimon here] > Goddramon.
Basically having 2 digivolution lines, a human-angel one and a holy-beast one. It would be really cool.
The Armor level doesn't sit in a concrete place on the evolution tiers.
In other media where the Armor level isn't used they become anything from Champion/Adult (Ponchomon) to Mega/Ultimate (Magnamon).
What's more is that the Digimon Encyclopedia segment for Pegasusmon listed his evolution stage as ???, so the status of Armor Digimon in this continuity is still up in the air.

Yes, technically armor is "another level" in itself...but according to the "history of digimon" (lol) the armor level was achieved by some ancient digimons and only decendants from those digimons are able to use the digi eggs to get to the armor level (patamon, veemon, hawkmon....) and that happened basically bc they weren't able to get to the champion level.
The only "ultimate" (or perfect level) of armor digimon we have are Magnamon and Rapidmon (gold) and (someone correct me of i'm wrong) i think Mgnamon can also be mega level (only when being a royal knight).
But anyways, according to the anime and all the context we got from the armor it's pretty safe to assume that the armor level it equivalent to the champion level (except magnamon).
In fact, in this season, Pegasusmon is presented to us as a "champion" level, just a different digivolution line, that's all. Same with Ponchomon.
And the power of a digimon is not necesarilly related to it's level, for example, in this season Angemon being able to battle with DarkKnigtmon or with WaruMonzaemon, or MagnaAngemon figting with Piedmon.
I guess it will be what they want it to be...LOL it always bothered me the ambiguity of the armor level to be honest xD i just assumed that the golden digi eggs made perfect level digimons and the rest of the digieggs made just champion level digimons xD

Honestly i dont care about a 02 remake, it's cool to see these armor digimon be available as essentailly alternate champion forms, which is great cause in 02 once champion digivoloving was possible the armor digimon stopped being relevant. Each iteration of the digiworld in each series is different so its fair game to change some of the rules regarding digivolution, personally i perfer Pegasumon to angemon as patamon's champion.

In overall Digimon canon, not only do Digimon have alternative evolutions, but there are multiple evolutions where different digimon can digivolve into the same Digimon (unlike Pokemon).
And Armor evolutions have regular evolution versions as well (same Digimon, but the Digimon doesn't armor digivolve, just regular digivolve). Digimon have more variations in evolution than Pokemon cause they're just data...

It’s crazy to think that the original Etemon could have been defeated easily... if they just gave Palmon a pair of maracas lmao. Another Mimi highlight episode and I’m loving it. Even if it’s “filler”, this is still a very fun episode to watch. That Ponchomon digivolution was definitely a surprise and opens possibilities for more character appearances in the future. And lmao at Matt trying to find Gabumon. Can’t wait for a possible Nefertimon or Plotmon/Salamon appearance next week!
Been keeping up with ur channel big fan of Digimon since the first one so I watched adventure 2020 but this episode right here was top 3 of adventure 2020 for me top notch episode
The Digi-Eggs/Digimentals seem to have gone the same way as the crests, from the original run. I.E. The kids already have access to their crests/eggs when they were chosen. They just need to show the associated traits to use them. This is likely a backdoor pilot concept for a new adventure 02 run. We won't have the second team looking around the digital world looking for the eggs. Rather, when Davis/Daisuke and Veemon show courage, Flamedramon evolves. Like when T.K./Takeru and Patamon showed hope for their predicament and suddenly we got Pegasusmon. Or with this, Mimi and Palmon showing sincere determination we get Ponchomon. This run is easing us into the idea of alternate forms and varied evolution paths.
the new digivices are all in ones also the data they absorb and environments are playing factors now too.
Im all down for a second series BUT, it needs to be these same OG kids.

The preview for this episode had me skeptical but to my surprise it was wonderful. It was hilarious and exciting, especially given how the sounds Volcamon and Etemon were emitting were driving the kids' Digimon crazy. I sincerely hope that both Volcamon and Etemon return at some point as part of the resistance. Also, Ponchomon as a side evolution for Palmon is fantastic. Although I don't particularly like that Ponchomon as an Armor digimon, it is still a very cool Digimon and this being an alternate for Palmon was completely unexpected but not unwelcome. Not only that but I'm glad the flash drive actually has a purpose which is a literal GPS which is really cool and will be interesting to see where they go with it. Overall this was a very good episode.
Also if you read Volcamon's profile, he is in fact a rival to Etemon, both him and his mega form. So it is great to see an episode incorporate that rivalry.

As much as a I like this ep I don't think the rest will be enough to develop the story like we still have their "mega evolution" episodes and then the climax? Hopefully they'll make a second season ala xros cuz I don't want this to be rushed.

Loved it. Ponchomon resulting from Palmon evolving with Patamon involved is great. Patamon becomes Ponchomon with the digiegg of purity (sincerity), Mimi’s crest. So happy with the reboot 🥳
It an armor digivolution, normally it Patamon with the digiegg of serenity, which is Patamon line code, so when Patamon is stuck in palmon’s bloom palmon and patamon’s code which was copied allow palmon to armor digivolve. Armor is an ancient form of DNA digivolving with the code of one in the form of an egg. This also explains how Patamon can digivolve into Pegasusmon without the egg of Hope, cause it already part of Patamon’s code which apparently was locked.

This was definitely a great episode. Pretty much all the Mimi centeed ones are. I loved the energy that the "villains" of this episode brought, especially Etemon. My favorite part tho would have to be poor Mat just in the background worried sick about his boy Gabumon.

Just to simply things based on the visual of Ponchomon, the Maracas can play a big part in the digivolution like what impmon's champion(?) or ultimate evolution got that blast mode out of a toy gun in Digimon Tamers. Cause it been a know fact even during the 1st Digimon Adventure game, you can digivolve any digimon to a specific evolution using a specific item. So that maracas CAN be a special item like how Nunemon can evolve to a Monzaemon by going to the bear suit.
I mean, to be honest if anyone was going to get a sudden Armour Evolution in this situation, it would have to be Mimi... remember how she rolled with slightly whacky situations in the original Digimon Adventure? xD

It'll be a big cliche if all of them died cause of melliniumon, then triggers lilymon to rosemon, I hope rosemon debute in some unthinkable way. And the others too

By after restore, the 4 Holy Beast active/restore the Ancient Evolution (Armor Egg)
Which mean the Armor Egg it's gone or never exist during the 1999 Adventure, until the Digidestined restore the world.
(like from Armor Egg become Crest, and return to Egg again)
So with current 2020 ver, it could be possible the same theory,
the Armor Egg been destroyed during the Ancient War, and currently is the Crest form in the Digivice I guess?

Anyone else just want them to introduce Davis and the other kids into this series? Maybe they could re-boot the whole Dark Ocean stuff, and find Ken there? He could either be there with his brother(I'd cry a lot), or even Ryo since we know he was with Ken for a while. The only issue I can see is their ages, since they would either need to be aged down to the same ages they were in 01(that would be weird since Cody would be a baby), or keep them the same age as they were in 02 and just not have to deal with Davis's denial of the word "no" when it comes from Kari. Actually, let's just go with that last one, that whole half baked love triangle was never done well.

The Reboot is trying to introduce branch Evolution. Yes, this can be used to introduce Armor digivolution, but the orginal idea for digimon was made in the games where you can evolve them base off there stats/environment. Etamon and co. are Virus-types so naturally Palmon would be Ponchomon who is a Virus type.
I can only guess Izzy is gonna make the Armor eggs as a contigency plan in case the digi-destines can't deal with X threat
Also the bit where Patamon was in Palmon's hair. It's actually a elemental exclusive skill called Root Breaker where Plant- types can drain other digimon's HP.

Is the show still only 60 episodes or has it been confirmed to be longer? Or maybe it will have a cliffhanger ending and then we get 02? I bring this up because 60 episodes seems kinda short compared to how long Dragonball Super and GeGeGe no Kitaro were. The first being 131 episodes and the other close to 100 episodes.

Perhaps we are underestimating how much can be done in 23 episodes, that's a little above 5 months of episodes. Granted I do understand the show's pacing has been relatively slow so far. But also consider every single arc in the original series was less than 23 episodes long.
The Devimon arc was around 13 episodes long, the Etamon arc was around 8 episodes long, the Myotismon arc is 18 episodes long, and the Dark Master arc is 15 episodes long. There is enough room to make a satisfying last arc, though it is recommended the pacing be changed, which seems to be happening.

This is an Alternate storyline, when you watch the Armor digimon Armor Digivolve you see the Forms of the original Digimon with that crest. Armor digivolving and Fusion aka DNA digivolving were introduced in this season. I believe that the DigiEggs are just that Digimon code, Hope is Patamon’s, Purity is Palmon’s and so on. Since Patamon + DE of Purity = Ponchomon so would Patamon + Palmon. This would also explain Patamon digivolving into Pegasusmon since it’s already in his code, it just a slide evolution.
I believe that Armor and DNA are the same, look at ExVeemon and Stingmon digivolving into Paildramon or Dinobeemon, they are both ExVeemon wearing Stingmon as Armor. So by this Aquilamon with DE of Light should digivolve into Silphymon, Hawkmon with the DE of Light becomes Harpiemon which could become Silphymon possibly.
I’ve stopped watching after like the first 10 episodes and only caught up with recaps and stuff, but I have no idea where this series is going. Like there’s only 20 episodes left and we’re just getting alternate digivolution after alternate digivolution. Is there even a main plot they’re following at this point?
I assumed it was because of Palmon getting attacked mid evolution. Kind of like a nod to the rumor that Panochomon are born from defeated Togemon.
So my theory is.
Since they seem to link divivolution with the holy digimon , like Calumon in tamer. this time around.
Maybe Angelwomon is link to mega, (since it would explain why only Augumon is able to go mega at this moment. Since he was empowered by angelwomon before)
While Angelmon is link to armor egg.
And Cherubimon is link to something else. (Fusion?)
Armor evolutions do have a level... Flamedramon was a champion.
Ponchomon is pretty much a hilarious Digimon and he did appear on Digimon tamers till this year. And if people are talking about armor digieggs are being outclassed by Sub/side Digivolutions then you might as well say this is an alternate and fusion of all series into one big reboot. Plus there’s also a possibility that there’s a new form of millenniumon or other enemies soon on the final episodes of this reboot series such as DoneDevimon/Nidhoggmon and a mysterious eye 👁 Digimon like cell that is close to ghoulmon but only an eye appeared after the countdown ends on episode 18. Sometimes people say millenniumon is the third antagonist but I don’t believe that. He’s the Main and final antagonist of this series! He’s quite OP!
Nice theory, but I don't think Patamon has as much to do with armor evolution as you think. We also already saw more armor evolution Digimon roaming around as normal Digimon, so I think they just chucked the digimental/digi-egg mechanic. These alternate evolutions are simply the result of environmental influence and strong need/desire. We saw something similar with BlitzGreymon, MetalGreymon Alteros mode, and WereGarurumon Sagittarius mode, where environment especially facilitated new powers/evolutions. It harkens back to Digimon's roots where depending on how a Digimon is raised, it can become multiple kinds of Digimon.
