Cool watch. I actually wear, almost daily, a vintage Nivada Antarctic from the 60's that I got from my father (who got it from his great uncle). I love that thing and I'm very pleased to see this incredibly cool revival of the Nivada brand.
One amazing watch, it would be even better if it comes with a silver steel strap.

The Rolex never got anywhere near the summit of Everest. The watch worn by Sir Edmund Hillary wore a Smiths!
Both a Rolex and Smiths watches were on the same expeditions and you're right, it was a Smiths De Luxe that Sir Edmund Hillary wore at the Summit. Too bad Smiths went belly up and now only exists as a shadow of its former glory.

The Rolex with Sir Edmund never actually reached the peak that was the Smiths watch! And the current version of the Super Antarctic have WR of only 100m. Older versions from when they relaunched several years ago have 200m WR.
Love how true to the original all of Nivada’s watches are but wish they had OTF micro adjust on their beads of rice bracelet. I know it’s not “period” correct but c’mon lol
A beautiful piece. One of Nevada's best. I do think a lumed lollipop second hand would tigh it all in very nicely.
It’s hard to wear the Rolex Explorer on a strap because the lug holes are too close to the case. Without curved spring bars, the strap gets chewed up by the case. Another problem with the Rolex is that the part of the case where the bracelet attaches is completely unfinished. That unfinished portion becomes visible when wearing the watch on a strap. This Nivada looks great on straps!

Excellent watch Horrible Lume. The lume on this watch is about as functional as it is on the Tudor 1929 (which doesn’t have any).

The only aspect holding me back is hearing that people have had trouble with getting their watches serviced and some have had watches delivered to them that didn't work. What is your opinion on this? Is this issue overblown?
I’ve had my Super Antarctic about 2 years and performance has been flawless. Very happy with it so far.

It's good to reward ourselves sometimes . While I'm not one to spend on high-end watch (I spend too much money on travel, lol), I can appreciate your gorgeous and timeless watch. I love how it's a symbol of all your hard work.And i choose NKUWAN every time honestly
