Rick, I’d love to see you play a round with ultimate forgiveness type stuff. The smart sole wedges, launch pad irons, etc. and see how much of a difference it is than playing your normal gamers. Could be a fun 2 ball video
E.L.Dorado they weren’t. Of course there were some rather bad ones in it, too. But Shielsy also liked quite a lot of the clubs. The Wedges, the Wilson irons... just for example.
Wow, as a golfer who has recently got back into golfing on a regular basis, as I currently stare across my bedroom at my 10 year old set of Wilson’s this video upsets me slightly just to imagine ANY of the clubs not being played every week. Is it just me? Also, I’d like to add that after being away from the game that I once loved for so long it’s nice to come back and see how much technology has changed and I would just like to state how nice it is to be able to watch videos like this. This guy is by far my favorite so far. LOVED the 7 iron pro vs full bag amateur video. Much love from Missouri! Keep up the vids!
Korey Whitaker for sure. Like I can’t even get a decent set all at once. I’m having to go club by club 🤣 Sad but true, damn covid outbreak, not working sucks.
Barry Stevenson I duffed my hybrid off the first tee, (short par 4), just made the edge of the fairway, using the same hybrid, smashed it 210 to within 15 feet of the flag, 2 putt parred it. Not bad for the first hole after lockdown. But yeah nearly missed with my first swing off the first tee. Rest of the round mix of pull hooks occasional great shots lots of putts finishing after 7 1/2 holes due to hail, rain 🌧 and very scary lightning 🌩 (did mention 25-30 mph wind gusts) still had a great time and was for the most part able to laugh away my poor ball striking with lots of after lockdown jokes
I’ve been hitting this one callaway chrome soft since March into my net (I don’t have any simulator) and it is completely misshapen now. It’s crazy how much it’s worn out.

Hey Rick, just wondering do they send these and expect them back or are they yours to do with whatever suits? I've always wondered how it works . Keep up the great content. 👍

Hello Rick, Just wanted to let you know I really enjoy your videos. I have probably watced over a hundred of them over the past year or more. We are getting a bit of that UK weather here today (rain). So no golf today. I,m 63 years of age, 6'4", 216lbs. My current irons are six year old Callaway X2hot Pro, 4 thru 9 with PW,AW all Steel shafts stiff. I use Cleveland 588 60 & 56 degree wedges. Driver also X2Hot, 3W-XR, 3hybrid-XR, Putter Ping. All my clubs were fitted to my height and arm length back in 2014 by golf professional. 1.5inch long, plus2 upright lie, grips-midsize-Winn. I hit my driver 250-280 yards, 3W about 235max, 3H-215 max, 4I-205, 5I-195, 6I-185, 7I-175, 8I-165max, 9I-145max, PW-125max, AW-115, 56-95yds, 60-50yds max. Ghin=10 So I hit all my clubs pretty good but I,m just in the mood to upgrade to a new set. My golf shop at my resort pushes Taylormade & Callaway and my place of work Pronghorn Resort pushes Callaway clubs. These are two of the some of the best manufacturer's of golf clubs but I,m open to any of the top brands. I work at a golf resort in Central Oregon and live on another golf resort same area. I would like your opinion or thoughts on what golf clubs you would believe someone of my age & height could benefit the most from? I know this is kind of difficult but I thought it would be interesting. I going to have True Spec Golf do a fitting on me soon at Pronghorn Resort. Oh did I mention that my Ancestry is 94% UK. Scotland, England, Wales, Northern Ireland. Golf must be in the blood. Robert A. Firth (Bob) bob.firth2012@gmail.com

I didn't need that much carry, now to carry 180 I have to pull at least the 4 iron out of my bag and this man is hitting a 7 iron 200 😂. Great video Rick, you're a lucky man to get boxes of brand new clubs. I've never had any brand new clubs. My brother works at a golf course and gives me his old clubs when he upgrades. I had some Wilson oversize before and now for the last 5 years I've been hitting King Cobra irons. I can tell a huge difference in how they feel and hit and I've NEVER been able to tell that about any club in my life. Also got an M5(used, like new lol) from my father in law for Christmas last year and I absolutely love it!! Back to hitting 250 plus when I hit it good. Thanks again Rick! Been watching your videos for a while and I've always enjoyed them
You wouldn't buy a car you don't like the look of. Why buy golf clubs that look terrible? (Answer: you are an absolute beginner and just need some kind of club.)
Yeah, well, that is why I just unsubbed. I don't care about their looks. I care about their performance. (Seen enough people on the course with "pretty" sets, who cannot play for shit).
Well that was interesting ! Obviously manufacturers are targeting newcomers into the game, we are far from blades for old players like us, but it also shows that Golf is alive and new players are coming into the game, and this is a benefit for the entire Golf Industry. Well done Rick for sharing this with us.
I would love to see a full on review of those Wilson D7s and the Cleveland wedges on the simulator and the course when they are open again. They look like they could be clubs for my game.
Great fun. Being fairly new to golf, taking it up seriously 3 years ago at 68, I doubt different clubs will help. I’m still trying to get the ball to go where I’m aiming.
Hi Rick, would love to see you do a greenkeepers day on the course when the problems are over as it might be an eye-opener for many golfers. I worked at the East Sussex National for a summer and loved it. ;-)
This is awesome. Rick's job perks are awesome. Here we are planning to upgrade iron sets years in advance and Rick has figured it out. They're mailing them to him. I tip my hat to you dude.
this vid says so much about you, so many products sent to you for a candid review. Love your complete honesty, just love it when you pick something up that doesn't quite do it for you....... I can only imagine some of the research and development staff cringe when they see that response
hlca might be why I started using head covers on my irons... 🤔 But honestly, I don’t even notice them - certainly not at address which is all that matters for me. And I like that when I hit it low on the face those power holes give more flex and minimal loss of yardage
Video idea for when restrictions are lifted: 9 holes only using illegal clubs. The Hammer driver! That wedge with the slots cut in it stuff like that see what you score.
Buy them. Got some at the end of last year and are unbelievably nice to hit. Great forgiveness and distance. Also the added bonus of being half the price of anything else out there
Julian Roberts - I haven’t got D7’s, I play the C300 Forged. But they are basically same looking iron just with weaker lofts. They are brilliant and no reason why the D7’s wouldn’t be too. People should wake up to WIlson Staff - their irons are absolutely up there with the best in the game, and half the price. Win win.
Thanks Rick, great fun watching. Who needs that much carry?? Need you even ask!! Intrigued by the Maverick Pro. Might have to give them a try. Playing the Apex CF 16s right now. Love them.
Just a warning: Careful around the 8 minute mark when that Launch Pad iron comes out. I migjt have thrown up in my mouth a little. Rick, you gotta warn us before pulling pranks like that! Great vid.. Curious if in that huge box of XXIO stuff if there was a driver with a shaft more suited to you. 47g senior flex at 115mph is fun to watch tho.
I've always fancied trying the hybrid style irons but never had the opportunity to hit them. They look like they'd help with consistency for sure. This must of been a fun video to make keep um coming
It's sad when I'm over here like "I think I could afford one iron from one of those sets" meanwhile Rick's garage looks like the golf display at a dick's sporting goods 😂😂😂😂 love the video Rick
Beautiful irons from Wilson with some pockets on the sole, Rick says they're ugly. The most hideous irons I've ever seen in my life, the SIM irons from TaylorMade, and Rick says they're "jam packed with features" LOL
I wanted to check out this video, because I need new clubs. My cousin and I played last week and he hit a 5 Iron 225 yards. He has the Taylormade P790s and I have a 20 year old set of Wilson's. Big difference. I'm torn between Callaway and Taylormade. Thanks, Rick.
Ruan Esterhuizen totally agree with you. And no surprise at all. I play Wilson’s C300 Forged and they have the power holes too, but not cranked up lofts. They’re superb. Thought the Cleveland wedge line-up were impressive (not that I would play Smart Sole, but they’ll work for some people. )
I also play with Wilson C300 forged irons and I absolutely love the feel and control. I didn’t know what to expect from Wilson. I love their baseball equipment but just got into golf a year ago and fell in love with my irons. Wilson super underrated
I switched last year from c300 to d7 forged purely to gain more distance as I'm getting old. They are everything that my c300 forged gave me with more distance so a big win for me. In the process of testing the d7 woods as I'm that impressed with the wilson gear
mike laurence is completely correct these clubs are marketed to senior players with swing speeds about 85 MPH and for us this 'whip' gains distance and height. always need to match club and shaft to golfer, i my 7iron is 135yards ricks is 180+yards
Now I know why the guy gave me for free haha I tried sometimes I there are some bombs there but yes, not for me. A pitty. I've seen prices around 700$ for only the driver :(
It'll inevitably catch me too, but I think I have a few more years until it hits me. And until then I'm with Rick, even though I'm not AS long as Rick. If I would switch to longer irons, there would be a huge gap between my gap wedge and pw. And to be honest anything else than a full swing is increasing the incosistency a lot. So I'll stick with my V2 set for now. Leaves me more money to buy balls and green fees too 😂
I dropped $699 today on a set of Wilson Staff Launchpad Irons. I cannot wait to receive them! Edit: 7/23/2020 - I've golfed three rounds with the LPs, and despite the physical size of the head, it weighs identical to my vintage Wilson Pro Staff OS irons. The crack of hitting the ball square is fantastic, and the ball gets in the air immediately. I took my ball over a 40' tall Oak tree with my pitching wedge, while being 25 yards in front of it. The PW is great out of sand also. I could not be happier with the set.
As an amateur golfer I love watching your videos and getting pointers. First year playing regularly looking forward to improving and playing more golf in the future.
I am always surprised how much credit Rick gives to how the club looks. Both in the bag and behind the ball. Surely feel and performance are way, way, way more important than pure aesthetics?
I think for most of the audience seeing the clubs and the "eye candy" is much more entertaining. He can make any club work as long as it stays together, and one of the main way clubs are differentiated these days is forgiveness, which we can't really tell from verbal description anyways.
MJ_ golf Tandem your UA-cam with social media presence like instagram and Facebook. They're the two biggest ones and quality assets like a good logo and cover photo on your platforms to make a good first impression. MJ_ golf if there's one thing I've learned from having a go at long drive in 2017 for the first time is if you want to have a go at being world class at something is you should go for it. Make it your passion and be around people that are willing to support you and accept you for it 😁
My driver 3 and 5 wood I broke in 2 rounds after awhile because I swung them to hard. Saving up for some clubs as of late. Love the vids! This is a dream day for me
Lmfao and if he dragged out 10 videos for these clubs you would have said “this didn’t need to be all separate videos! This could have been one video!” Let him do what he wants
I am jealous, my 7 iron broke last week during a match, got it repaired and then my 9 iron broke this week during another match. It's be nice to have a backup set to fall back on. Hunting marketplace now for a newer set. My Adams CB2's are at their end of life. Thanks for all the amazing reviews you are doing.
Love your videos Rick. I really enjoy watching them. Not only are they fun to watch but they help me improve my swing so much!! Great choice on the Scotty!! I liked the Diamonds Scotty. Keep up the good work Rick!!

This video is every golfers wet dream
Nah, I wouldn't play most of these.
For me Wilson Staff took this one
Ruan Esterhuizen totally agree with you. And no surprise at all. I play Wilson’s C300 Forged and they have the power holes too, but not cranked up lofts. They’re superb. Thought the Cleveland wedge line-up were impressive (not that I would play Smart Sole, but they’ll work for some people. )
I also play with Wilson C300 forged irons and I absolutely love the feel and control. I didn’t know what to expect from Wilson. I love their baseball equipment but just got into golf a year ago and fell in love with my irons. Wilson super underrated
@@scruffymcmuffin9441 I have Wilson d 300 and I love them just shame I can't hit in a straight line lol
I switched last year from c300 to d7 forged purely to gain more distance as I'm getting old. They are everything that my c300 forged gave me with more distance so a big win for me. In the process of testing the d7 woods as I'm that impressed with the wilson gear
Darren bell - I’m gaming the 9* WIlson D7 driver. Pretty good
I have an XXIO with a light shaft too and I can't control it. Maybe it's designed for senior or shorter players?
Designed for Asian market. Small thin grip for small hands, super light shaft for small frame etc. Mistake sending it for Rick to test 🤣🤣
Xxio are specifically designed for slow swing players.
mike laurence is completely correct these clubs are marketed to senior players with swing speeds about 85 MPH and for us this 'whip' gains distance and height. always need to match club and shaft to golfer, i my 7iron is 135yards ricks is 180+yards
Now I know why the guy gave me for free haha I tried sometimes I there are some bombs there but yes, not for me. A pitty. I've seen prices around 700$ for only the driver :(
Designed for seniors and ladies who are short and have less power, ie Asian people 😂😂
One of my favorite videos that you've made!
I’m only starting out in golf Rick and your videos have certainly helped!! Thank you sir👍
man that's my dad when he gets a pay check and then trying to hide from my mom
Tell your dad to keep and use the old head covers on his new clubs.
So jealous of you here! I’d be like a kid in candy shop here.👌
I'm curious to see how well you hit the clubs while they're still in the box.
Possibly better than out of the box
@@RickShielsPGA judging by the first one, it's certainly possible.
I recently bought a set of one length irons from giga golf and I love them. Cut 1/4 " short and 1 degree flat
So jealous!! So much fun to watch. Thanks Rick!
Here’s me with 7-sw s3 cobras with graphite shafts apart from the 7 which has steel and then a 6 s2 cobra 😂
Me: saving up for taylormade sim clubs.
Rick: buys them, tests them out, and forgets about them...
Jackson Ziesmer he didnt buy them.. they were sent to him
Either way, I have to work to get money to buy them. He has them sent for free
Jackson Ziesmer he still has to work for them, this is his job
Ya by golfing when I have barely go. I try to go as often as I can but it's difficult
"Does anyone out there need that much carry?" - I didn't used to need it, but Father Time is winning. :D
But appearance breeds confidence!
I think for most of the audience seeing the clubs and the "eye candy" is much more entertaining. He can make any club work as long as it stays together, and one of the main way clubs are differentiated these days is forgiveness, which we can't really tell from verbal description anyways.
Like a Child on Christmas. Plays one minute, opens next box, throws it aside, what Else?
Sooo Jealous! Home simulator and multiple boxes of free clubs to play with during quarantine! I’m stuck putting on my carpet in my room 😂
Grant, try the Putt Out. It'll add some fun to putting on the carpet.
I've never played golf. I've never been on a golfclub. But stilll; I enjoy your vids! :) Your enthousiasm is addicting. Thank you :)
This was the funnest video to watch in a long time.
Any advice on a new golf channel???? Please anything trying hard
Keep uploading quality content
MJ_ golf Tandem your UA-cam with social media presence like instagram and Facebook. They're the two biggest ones and quality assets like a good logo and cover photo on your platforms to make a good first impression. That's what I'd say after working in social media and graphic design. Boom happy to help 😊
Rory Peters thanks means a lot trying hard.
MJ_ golf if there's one thing I've learned from having a go at long drive in 2017 for the first time is if you want to have a go at being world class at something is you should go for it. Make it your passion and be around people that are willing to support you and accept you for it 😁
Rory Peters thanks for the amazing advice and I will do that!!
"It could be anything... Could be a bowling alley "
I you going to have a giveaway 😂⛳️
Ohhh! Loved the WS Launch Pad, Cleveland Wedges and of course the TM SIM OS. Nice.
My driver 3 and 5 wood I broke in 2 rounds after awhile because I swung them to hard. Saving up for some clubs as of late. Love the vids! This is a dream day for me
I've never even had a free tee, nevermind boxes of clubs 😂
Rick: "Are these wedges? Oh yeah they are wedges"
When you have had the same irons for 10 years :(
I have the 56 degree smart sole wedge, love it. Fantastic out of the green side bunker!
Mine is in black!
I have the Wilson D7s, great club and don't even notice the grooves on the bottom when they are in the bag
U could have done 10 vids with it. This is too fast of a video to cover so much.
JustGolfSwing agree. Felt very lazy.
Lmfao and if he dragged out 10 videos for these clubs you would have said “this didn’t need to be all separate videos! This could have been one video!” Let him do what he wants
"I hope you've enjoyed seeing what's inside these empty boxes" 🧐
@@scottayton1009 I wouldn't say lazy, just a bit more relaxed than other videos, and tbh I think we need that every once in a while
JustGolfSwing fully agree if I’m any of those club reps I would be quite upset.
"It feels powerful"
Translation: "It feels like jacked lofts"
;)

I am jealous, my 7 iron broke last week during a match, got it repaired and then my 9 iron broke this week during another match. It's be nice to have a backup set to fall back on. Hunting marketplace now for a newer set. My Adams CB2's are at their end of life. Thanks for all the amazing reviews you are doing.
Love your videos Rick. I really enjoy watching them. Not only are they fun to watch but they help me improve my swing so much!! Great choice on the Scotty!! I liked the Diamonds Scotty. Keep up the good work Rick!!
The guys at Cleveland must be cringing watching this.
These clubs were bought using Rick’s drug money
What the hell
is wrong with you
Zhongyi Yao chill its a joke
who needs 190 carry with a seven iron? I would like 190 carry off my 3 wood!!!!!
Just recently picked up a Smart Sole 4 chipper for the bag. Definitely like it so far!
Always a pleasure to watch.
