Love your tutorial, you have no idea how much it's appreciated that you include instructions on other sizes. May not be a surprise that a whole lot of people are not a small or medium size. What a beautiful sweater.
Thank you so much for a variation of esc. The ones where you just pull the second loop up longer didn't really give the look I wanted. This is perfect. And Thank You for such a simple and beautiful cardigan pattern. I'm 4 years back into crochet after a 20 year hiatus and things are so much better with video tutorials as I'm a more visual learner.
I love love love this stitch. Thank you for introducing me to it. I’ve only done extended doubles before but I like this texture more. Also bless you for taking the time to include all the sizes and number of stitches needed. I don’t need to do any math. Wish more people would do this to simplify things. You are a blessing to math challenged crocheters 😊
Thank you so much, great video. Really appreciate you saying the sizes without me having to go to another site to see how much I have to chain. Simply wonderful
I just want to say I always wanted to learn how to make cardigan. This was so easy to follow. And I'm happy to say I did it👏👏😘❤God bless you. I will look forward to looking for more of your videos.
Just got done making this for a cosplay. Love how I was able to do more rows to make it longer and, with it being summer, leave the long sleeves off if I chose to. Did a scallop edging on the arm holes and it fits amazing!!!!! The size (XL) is perfect! Will definitely make this agin ❤
I am almost done with the dc stitch only cardigan. It took me a day. I’ve made many cardigans , but was looking for one that fit just right. You know that elusive Goldilocks fit…not too loose, not too tight! Plus. I wanted numbers for my beginning chain and row 1 of increases (I wanted them for the “box”, you know, where you make the front, sides, and back then put the # of starting chains). This way I could use it for similiar cardigans in the future. My shoulders are smaller than for my size, so it’s hard to find the exact chains needed. Your #’s were perfect! Thank you. This cardigan is next on my list.
So helpful to have this video to visualise the working of the cardigan, compared to seeing just your pattern for this, because I'm pretty new to making cardigans. It's great to see the raglan style of working, offers so many options and frees us from sewing. Thanks, Breann!
So happy I found this. Was getting frustrated with finding a tutorial that would work for the cosplay top I’m doing (Monkey D. Luffy’s red shirt/cardigan from the One Piece anime). This is gonna be super easy and nice. Love that you gave the different sizes and such. Explanation and tone of voice is definitely a plus for me as well. ❤❤❤❤
THANK YOU SO MUCH ! I found your free pattern and figure out what I did wrong , I subscribed to you. XXXOOOO I promised I won’t be a pain ! Lol I just kept doing foundation wrong and that’s the Main important one 🤦🏻♀️
Oh my gosh that’s so cool! You make it look so easy! I can’t decide now if I want to do the EVERYGIRL Sweater or THIS one! This one might look better in the Red Heart Roll With it Tweed (Sunset) that I already have in my stash to work with...hmmmmm
I am making this now - so easy! I just started crocheting beginning of Sept. and i am making a sweater. 😀 Your tutorial and pattern are excellent and easy to follow. I think this is a versatile pattern - you could make a vest or cardivest, add ribbing, use wool, cotton or other yarn, etc. Christmas presents! 👍🏻💜 thank you! New sub!
1st time seeing your video. I was looking for an alternative beginning for a granny square cardigan I'm making and this is perfect. I've never heard of the extended single crochet until now and I love how it looks. I like how you give stitch counts for the different sizes, so there there's no guessing... I'm half way through the video and I'm enjoying it. Good job!
Thank you so much!! And sure! You can use any stitch you like :) I would make a gauge swatch to see how the sizing will compare to the original pattern. I think a herringbone half double crochet would look really nice!
Love your tutorial. A small suggestion: in future, could you place the camera closer to your work so that beginners, as myself, enjoy & learn how to follow your instructions. ( can you re-do this tutorial. I'm dying to make a cardigan😊)
Is extended single crochet, the same thing as double crochet? It almost looks like it!!!! thank you for sharing. You’re an awesome teacher. I can’t wait to start mine.
Hi! Thank you so much!! No it's not the same :) esc: Insert your hook, YO and pull up a loop, YO and pull through one loop, YO and pull through remaining two loops
@@HookedOnHomemadeHappiness ok I figured it out finally and I love it ! ♥️ but the only problem I’m having (I’m making for a large). I know it is to start 98 stitches but you mentioned 12 foundation extend single stitches and at the end I have a longer amount ????? So I have 12 ESC corner space 17 ESC corner space 24 ESC corner space 17 ESC corner space At this time I have many more LOST HELP 🙏🏼 Please help so I Not start with 12?
Hi really nice cardigan and well explained, I only have no 4.5 crochet hook I was wondering if I keep same no of stitches for medium or should I change, as my crochet hook is different than you suggested.
Ok so I love the pattern and the tutorial, and I was halfway through making this cardigan myself when i realized I wouldn't have enough yarn to finish it, so i had to unravel everything 😢 But I was wondering if it would be possible to use double crochet instead of an extended single crochet to make this, as double crochet uses less yarn than extended single crochet?
Hi! I would go a gauge swatch and see how it matches up to the patterns gauge. If it is too big try going down a hook size to see if you can get a match :)
Can I ask the length of the cardi for example a M is 82 row is that including the rows from the start or is that additional to the ones you did before you joined the sleeves together? Thankyou 🙏
Hi! I want to start out with chain foundation instead of fsc. I want to make a size S so would my chain be 74 or 75 total? Just want to clarify! Please and thank you!
Hi! You can sell finished items from my patterns. You may not sell, claim my patterns as your own, make translations or video tutorials of my patterns. You may sell finished products made from my patterns, but please link back to the post and give credit for the pattern.
Hi Neela, I haven't this cardi (I've just started) but according to the tension I'm making a small on 5mm hook. I'm a UK size 16. I made another similar top down cardigan with 92 chain and it was huge. Check your tension...Id say follow medium if in doubt.
Hello and I love your patterns and videos!! Question....in your written pattern, Round 2 says to "join to first ecs with sl st". This really doesn't make sense to me AND you do not have this step in your tutorial. Just wondering if this should be removed from the pattern/ignored? TIA and stay safe!!
I used the Lion Brand Heartland and a 4.00 mm hook using the 2X instructions. It’s HUGE. I could put my leg through the armhole LOL. I do love the pattern and it was so easy to follow, so I’ll give it another shot with some modifications.
Thank you so much for uploading this. I've just made myself a gorgeous red version and I am in love! So easy to make - thanks!! :)
Yay! Thank you!

I totally agree!
Best video for sizing …love the cardi plus my new favorite stitch replacing the half double is this awesome extended single…who knew …thank you 🥰

Hi! Sorry, that's a typo! Do not join :)
How would I size this up to a size 60” finished bust?
Hi! Hmm.... my advice would be to start with the 3X size and then you can continue the increase repeat until it's the desired bust size.
Is there a way to do this in children sizes? I love the pattern and would love to make for my niece
Hi! How old is your neice?
Well she wears a 10/12 in kids clothes
That should be pretty close to an adult small. I'm thinking you could use DK weight yarn and go down a hook size or two and make a small.
Is this a particular size on this video? It looks very easy and I want to make it.
The sample in the video is a size small :)
Hi, it's so nice but I like to have a circle shape collar would you please help me?
Does this fit well or small? Im usually a 2xl
Hi! It's true to size. I usually wear a small and this is what I am wearing in the photos :)
How many gram of yarn does it take to crochet a knee length cardigan with long sleeves
What are the measurements for a size small and a size medium in inches? Please
Hi! All the measurements are listed in the description.
thanks
Anyone else gauge too big?! I used Caron One Pound and have to work with a 3.5mm to get a 4 in square... What's everyone else using?
I used the Lion Brand Heartland and a 4.00 mm hook using the 2X instructions. It’s HUGE. I could put my leg through the armhole LOL. I do love the pattern and it was so easy to follow, so I’ll give it another shot with some modifications.

Please do a v neck cardigan
It's hard to see the stitches. If the camera was closer to your hands, it would be really helpful.
If I need to see the stitches closer I just zoom in by putting thumb and first finger on my screen (on my tablet), and spreading them apart .
Camera needs to be closer
