  • Are you worried about your child's flat feet? I have helped several families of kids with flat feet find out the degree of their child's pronation. This video will show you images and videos with several real life examples. Pronation can be divided in 3 categories, mild, moderate, or strong, and depending on the degree of your child's pronation you will might need to get supportive shoes, orthotics, or both.
We all have a certain degree of pronation, the issue arises when that pronation becomes excessive, which is usually referred to as overpronation. Usually, when children experience overpronation their foot muscles are shifted in an inefficient position and that’s when we would get concerned about it.
Be Proactive and Don’t Take the “Wait and See Approach”
Moderate and strong pronation can shift your child’s body out of alignment and affect your child’s walking gait and overall posture. Once the feet are pronated, your child’s knees and hips also become misaligned. This means that the muscles that move those joints no longer work efficiently, and it will take more energy for your child to do the same work as other children who don’t have this condition.
If after watching the video you are still unsure about the degree of your child's pronation, I suggest that you read this resource: fittingchildrenshoes.com/find...
It has additional images to help you better visualize and also a list of supportive shoes to help treat your child's mild, moderate, or strong pronation.

Hello, since your child is seven years old, chances are that she won't develop arches. Most children can develop arches until the reach the age of five, after the age of five most children remain flat footed.

Some children have flat feet that don't interfere with their daily activities. However, if your daughter has poor posture, stability issues, or experiences pain, then supportive shoes can help her perform her everyday activities without any issues and live pain-free. Here is a resource that has a list of supportive shoes for children with flat feet: fittingchildrenshoes.com/the-best-shoes-for-kids-with-flat-feet-stop-your-kids-foot-pain/

My experience is mostly with children, as I work for a children's shoe store. However, I do have some experience fitting adults in supportive shoes. Are you experiencing any foot or leg pain?

I am happy to help. Do you know if your son's feet are narrow, medium, wide, or extra wide? I also would need to know the country that you are contacting me from to check what specific shoes you might be able to order.

@@YeabsiraYksweet Hello, I would like to clarify that I am not a doctor. I am a shoe fitter with many years of experience. It does seem that you have hemihypertrophy. Is there a considerable size difference between your feet? Are you experiencing any foot or leg pain?
