Really excited about it. Troy is probably the best game for a Fantasy like total war, aoart from warhammer, but that is not that modable in terms of map.
Saw this and felt (finally another third age full game is coming) I loved third age and played it for years. And the combat mechanics in Troy were awesome so combining the two makes me very very happy. I wish this was already out and able to be played or that I had any skill as a modder and could help speed up the process. Rooting for you guys!
Honestly not a fan of Attila and as time past Attila became even older and say anything about Troy but Troy has the best graphics and lighting. Much more details and it is well optimized too. I love the progress on the Dawnless Days but Attila is a huge downside for me, it took so long that now it has come to this. This mod will be really impressive if it doesn't take 7 years to be released. Looks very very good so far.
Also i hate how Attila's atmosphere makes everything depressive and brownish. Like, All the battles are set in Mordor or something. Credit when is due of course. The modders have achieved what it looked impossible in Attila, but i wish they did it in another game.
This mod looks great! Thanks for those news! I'm just wondering how artillery units will be implemented in the mod given that we don't have that kind of units on Troy.
It looks absolutely brilliant, and I am pretty much in agreement about most things except for two things. 1 I doubt Aragorn will get an Ithildin rangers bodyguard. I suspect he'll start of with a dunedain ranger bodyguard and if they retain the Troy mechanism whereby you pick and change your lord's (or lady lets not forget about Eowyn) bodyguard as gains in rank he'll get access to other Dunedain, Arnor and Gondor forces (perhaps even some Rohan-horsemen and well Elven units)...that would be a way to give certain characters some units and mechanics to set them apart from the standard lords of their own culture in the campaign. for example gimli could gain bodyguards and abilities from the different dwarf factions, Legolas has access to Rivendell, Mirkwood and Lothlorien....Gandalf has access to basically every good culture...... 2 I am hoping that they won't go with the heavier is better route that seems to dominate most total war games. One of the things I liked about Troy was that light, medium and heavy mostly related to their function rather than usefullness and each of those three had its place and uses on the battlefield. Whereas that traditional route might not be out of place for say the core units of Minas Tirith or the Dwarfs, other factions like say the dunedain ought to focus more upon light forces.
This mod is not going to develop substantially faster, it is helped by a partnership between The Dawnless Days (we do 3D models for both mods). But maps, tilemap & balance and all that jazz is not gonna go faster. These areas are brand new, especially concerning maps
I like everything so far, but hopefully mode maker's will pay more attention to settlements and make more village's arund map's that would be brilliant 👏 😀
This look amazing great job from the devs ! But do you have your graphics turned down a bit? It is lacking shadows on unit models, idk if it's from the mod or your settings
You mentioned Aragorn bodyguard in this video, so does that mean there will be no single entity heroes in this mod? We can see Boromir as a single model soo.... will there be possible to switch from single unit to bodyguard? Also i was wondering how team can implement sidge equipment like catapults and trebuchets. As of right now i do not see them in base game. Great video and i cant wait to see more of this mod :)
Whether they will get bodyguard units is unconfirmed at the moment but it's easily done with Troy. I think there will be single entity units though as well. And no news yet on the siege units but I'll keep an eye out :)
This is I creditable this is the mod I been wanting BUT I hope they go all out with alot of and factions to play like medieval 1212, but in my opinion what would get me to put hundreds of hours and even pay monthly for support of it is if there's a sandbox mode just straight conquest no story mode just let us role play for ourselves
Looks amazing... just an observation... wondering why some of the faces on the units look plastic? Very pink and artificial, secondly the helmets don't seem to be casting any shadows on the faces? It does very look odd...is that because of mapping?
Big question, I got the free epic games version, and being a LotR mod, I imagine it will not be a steam workshop mod, they always take them down. So my question is if the mod will work with both steam and epic. Upon this depends if I just get mythos for epic or wait for a discount amd get everything in steam. I see the free version in epic as a beta, but I'd like to spend the lest money as possible.
Not sure to be honest but hopefully they do release on Epic as well. Either way it will release for the base-game version on Steam so if you picked up the game on steam you don't need any of the DLCs including Mythos
i honestly hate the mod made for atilla and that purely of the lighting but this even tho this game was not great the lighting is amazing and so are the visuals so if theres is a lotr mod coming for troy bet you cheeks im playing this
A bit disappointing that the fiefdom units are T1. I much prefer how it is in Third Age DaC, where the fiefdom units are fairly strong and fill a niche in the base roster.
Thank God these games take inspiration from the original lotr trilogy, and not later films like hobbit or rings of power God forbid Unit cards look very professional...can't wait to not play this cuz my pc sucks!

Really excited about it. Troy is probably the best game for a Fantasy like total war, aoart from warhammer, but that is not that modable in terms of map.
Did you add in the film score for the video or is it part of the mod? If so, it smells like DMCA
What I dont understand is why nearly every middle earth mod is made on the old as fuck games.
@@andreasaa2000 Because the more modern games don't have the capability to edit the map, thus you can't really make a middle earth mod.

This mod is literally the only reason I'll consider getting Troy.
Same
Actually Troy is very good.
Honestly not a fan of Attila and as time past Attila became even older and say anything about Troy but Troy has the best graphics and lighting. Much more details and it is well optimized too. Keep us updated my man! Been waiting for an lotr mod for a long time now.
This mod has huge potential!
It really does!
I would buy Troy just to play this mod. Please keep us posted Terminator!
Will do!
Really looking forward to this mod, i have always thought that Troy is a great game with very good optimization, and perfect for a lotr mod
Agreed!
This is so exciting to see, Dawnless Days I followed since R2 days but this will be so much better
I think Dawnless Days will be insane personally. But yes I think WTSL will be just as good if not better :)
@@TheTerminatorGaming definetely WTSL no frikin way not in this life going to be better than dawnless days
Love it! Give us more content related to this mod!
Will do!
This mod looks so fantastic and will breathe new life into Troy!
Glory to the modders!
More like revive troy for some time
This looks and feels fantastic!
Excellent! Thanks for sharing... Looking forward to your next one :-)
No matter sir! Has to with 3rd age good enough for me. Did outstanding job show casing the different units! Thanks a lot sir!
The unit cards look amazing!
This is coming along nicely.
Guess I have a reason to buy that Troy DLC.
While the latest video adaptations of LOTR are failing, our wonderful modding community is making this a golden age for LOTR gaming.
It's failing because it's an adaptation in name only. Zero respect for the lore, whereas the modders only respect.
@@agonsfitness7308 That's Tolkien's fault though, not Amazon's.
Man the UI is AMAZING!
Awesome Video
Glad you enjoyed it!
Incredible
Beatifull!!
Damn, those unit cards are amazing.
This mod looks great! Thanks for those news! I'm just wondering how artillery units will be implemented in the mod given that we don't have that kind of units on Troy.
Maybe the hydras ai might work, it is kind of an Artillerie unit
Looks good, the graphic gap between Atilla and Troy is clearly visible.
It looks absolutely brilliant, and I am pretty much in agreement about most things except for two things.

CAN'T WAIT FOR THE CAMPAIGN!
Hahaha you're gonna have to wait a while buddy :D but hopefully not as long as Dawnless Days
Amazing
Looks great! Hopefully they add some variants to the faces add facial hair etc
Yeah I'm sure they will :)
You say that this mod can be developed quickly? That is amazing. The Attila one is taking ages. Is there an ETA on this one?
This mod is not going to develop substantially faster, it is helped by a partnership between The Dawnless Days (we do 3D models for both mods).
But maps, tilemap & balance and all that jazz is not gonna go faster. These areas are brand new, especially concerning maps
Thats because modding tools in attila is limited CA hold a grudge on us when we bombard negative review on rome 2
Yeah I think it' my settings. Need to re-look at them
I hope they go all in on the nerdery like Divide and Conquer.
There's something funny seeing super armored men on top of a naked horse lol
Haha I know right

hyped for isengard en the elven factions.
Daaaamn
Looks amazing. No Battle? 😭
When do you think a campaign map will be ready? It looks awesome
No idea mate unfortunately. It's very early days

Are they planning to campaign in the future?
i hope this mod gets to the steam worshop
So ready to buy Troy Total War for this. How is the battle ai in this game though compared to Rome 2 / Attila?
Troy battle AI is alright, nothing special but probably better than previous games
Do the units have abilities like devastating flanker etc? Or not yet? I loved those about Troy
No abilities as of yet, but I'm sure that will get worked on down the line :)
So Troy is on sale @steam. Should one buy it now or is it too early?
Looks amazing... just an observation... wondering why some of the faces on the units look plastic? Very pink and artificial, secondly the helmets don't seem to be casting any shadows on the faces? It does very look odd...is that because of mapping?
I actually think it might be my settings. Need to have a play around with them
Bout to bust gawd damn
Welp own Troy TW now… literarily said “shut up and take my money! Middle earth needs me!!!!”
"How many LOTR inspired mods will you do?"
"Yes"
Big question, I got the free epic games version, and being a LotR mod, I imagine it will not be a steam workshop mod, they always take them down. Please release for epic ❤
Mod will be for both versions (steam and epic), mythos dlc isnt needed
All the modders that are developing this mod can join with those of total war Attila in order to enjoy a fully finished one
is the unit spacing going to be adjusted? like elite spearmen being tighter together?
Yes
@@hecleas5942 nice, thx
To play this mod i will have to buy Troy on steam? Ihave it on Epic with all DLCs..
Will it be available via epic games?
The only thing i’d buy troy because of this mod
Haha I feel ya mate!
can u make a updated installation video ?
Its not released yet bud :)
When will the mod be released and will it have a campaign?
It will have a campaign and release date is TBA for now
Awesome
Is this done?
Any news about the mod
i honestly hate the mod made for atilla and that purely of the lighting but this even tho this game was not great the lighting is amazing and so are the visuals so if theres is a lotr mod coming for troy bet you cheeks im playing this
Lighting can be fixed…other than that Atilla is superior to troy as a game
Someone tell the texturers to reduce the brightness of those helmets and armor.
So what happened to this mod? Nothing on their moddb.
A bit disappointing that the fiefdom units are T1. I much prefer how it is in Third Age DaC, where the fiefdom units are fairly strong and fill a niche in the base roster.
I wonder why these Lotr mods keep coming if we already almost have Rise of Mordor
Lol really theres not going to be something better than TDD
This mode for which game?
Troy
@@TheTerminatorGaming When will it be published?
Thank God these games take inspiration from the original lotr trilogy, and not later films like hobbit or rings of power God forbid
Unit cards look very professional...can't wait to not play this cuz my pc sucks!
Get a new PC!!
Too shiny for regular armour
Tbh Attila seems like a better game for the mod…
