Love Ortlieb bags. I bought the Roll Top version of this one since I worry about the durability of the zipper, and it's been fantastic so far. Highly recommend and definitely worth the cost.
I just bought it, the full frame bag, the gravel panniers and the fork packs. The frame bags are roll top. I took advantage of some sales that end on 12 May. I look forward to dressing up my Surly Bridge Club and hitting the road.
Speaking about fully waterproof bags - I was quite impressed by Riverside Bikepacking bags from Decathlon recently. Among others, got their half frame bag which also features TIZIP for about half price of Ortlieb.
Sure looks nice, but I have a $30 Rockbros frame bag that I've never had water intrude. Maybe I've just gotten lucky. And it has two zippers with the orange interior panel that makes it oddly easier to spot stuff. I'm sure the Ortlieb would last longer for heavy use based on that zipper alone.
Yeah, I got the fullframe 6 litre version in black, had this one before that. Perfect 'simple' bags that won't fail you. Only nitpicking 'down side' is the fit on a frame with smaller tubing. While they do recommend a different way of fitting it for smaller tubing, it just looks a little less 'neat'.
Looks like they changed the straps on that bag. I had the previous version and the glue that held the top strap came undone while I was on a ride. Had it for a couple of months so I was able to get it replaced with the roll-up frame pack. That was the only time I had any issues with Ortlieb products.
I have the larger frame pack and love it. I can confirm the zipper can be dangerous to goods inside, as it tried to eat my frog toggs rain coat and left a small hole in the sleeve. The cutthroat can be fully kitted out with ortlieb product from my kit, and I have had great luck with all.
I wonder what the forever chemical make up is on such a bag. Through production and what not. Ever since I read an article by Keen about forever chemicals I’ve leaned heavily away from waterproof products. I have ortlieb gear as I live in the PNW so I’m not knocking them. I’m just curious.
Just wondering, has anyone fit one of these bags to a Salsa Cutthroat 56CM frame? I've printed out the template and can't get a good read on fit and no local dealers have one in stock to try...
Why did my comment asking about what you think of Orucase get deleted? I realize that's not what this video is about but it was just a simple question. Thanks...
Made in Germany, lasts for many many years and they offer a fantastic repair service. I own the complete set of bikepacking bags since the day they where launched in 2016, nothing on them failed in well over 15 to 20.000 km but I had them send in for repairs of two spots where something sharp pierced through and got charged maybe 10 € plus shipping.
Like the OneWrap straps, or the hook and loop straps? I simply like that they are replaceable in the first place, some bags have velcro sewn into them, and when they break, they are useless.
Very cool! Great to see a bigger brand getting the design right. Looks like a solid bag.

I own the black 4L version for some time now and it never failed me. Great bag!

Oh the irony of storing a flask of water in the waterproof bag :D

Got a handlebar bag from Rocbros 5 yrs old still waterproof!

I’ve been really impressed by how thought out the few pieces I have from Ortlib!

Love mine. I bought Ortlieb's own "T-zip lubricant" :)
Can i use in doble suspension bike. In the vertical tube ? What do you think?
Yeah, maybe the smaller 3L one, I would print out the template and see if it fits.
Ok. Let me know

I'm sure they can chime in here, but I do know they have taken steps to reduce the use of forever chemicals, but to what degree... I'm not sure.
Does anyone have one on a 50cm Surly Midnight Special? I’m wondering how it fits on this size frame.
Ortlieb makes great stuff. Kinda weird installing the stuff, but it lasts forever.
HEY kislux !! I have been watching you for years and im so proud of where you have made it! I love you so much! Also thanks for making my day

I tried, the 4L does not fit, would assume the 3L does however.
Using it for 3 years, reliable, durable and keeps water out, but pricey

Nothing got deleted. Not sure what you are referring to.
Waaaaay too pricey

Heirloom quality compared to everything else I have worn out, and thrown away.
ortlieb strap always broken ! ahh so bored this brand ..
