There are many reasons why bands and artists stay away from covering 'legendary' songs, the most notable reason being that if they fuck it up then it stains their reputation with the fans. BUT, when you have the guts and skill to take such a song and possibly even improve on it, then, then you deserve a lot of respect and all that comes with it.
