Please do a video about starting a salt water tank on a budget! Y’all have been my favorite UA-camrs since I started my fist aquarium a few years ago because of how y’all focus on making things easy to understand for beginners and welcoming more people into the hobby. I would love to start a saltwater tank but have just been too intimidated by them. 🐠
Large tank size, quarantined fish, titanium heater with a backup, quality return pump, and regularly monitored auto top off, mixed with lots of research and it's doable. Don't completely cheap out though. It makes the hobby exponentially more difficult and frustrating. Often at the peril of the tanks inhabitants.
I’d love to see a saltwater tank on a budget. I’m just starting my freshwater tank (and joined your channel) but I do want to see the other side. My first question is how can you do this without a fancy RO system. I’ve always found saltwater cool
Yes, we're interested on a saltwater tank on a budget! By now, I'm very busy, but I'd like to take up the challenge once things will have settled down. I don't even think it's the colours to make me drawn to it (freshwater still has a ton of it), it's the new challenge to be accepted. Back to freshwater, here on the other side of the pond (I'm from Italy) planted tanks are the default setting since practically ever. Fact is, bulk of the biomass in most enviroments are plants, and their function is paramount - Thus, not putting them in an aquarium is unheard of. Fish also really appreciate them, they clearly are more at ease with a lot of vegetation to explore and hide within.
Same. I started before you, but I took a fairly long break from high school to buying ny own house after getting married. My reintroduction started around the same time as yours, 92/93. It wasnt until the early 2000 though that I ever shared this hobby with someone other than me. Mrs Whip couldn't give rip about aquariums or fish. None of my friends had aquariums. There was no internet that I could access and there have never been clubs within an easy drive. All I knew was what I had learned by trial and error. Now I know people all across the nation, hell, I know people all over the world now. People who have the dame interest as me. Plus, I have access to information anytime I want, that I never had access to before. I still keep my circle of friends pretty small. The act of aquiring the most friends for the sake of sating, "look how popular I am", has never been my thing. Having people I'd go to war with is.
I like the memory lane, its funny how we forget we didnt have many people to talk to about fish but now we can talk all we want. How lucky we are now! Tank in the background already has some great growth! What light are you using on it? It looks just right. Ive done tons of hobbies and have trophies in many but this is the one that has never bored me.
Yes!!! John been loving ur vids lately. Show us a salt water tank on a budget. You and Lisa have been on a groove lately. Enjoying this amazing new world you guys have been building. Thanks for taking us on this ride. My fish are my therapy after a very hectic day. Your videos are part of my therapy as well. Keep up the great work!
You and Lisa have a friend with me, John! I had the same type of father. He didn't know how much my fish meant to me, and pulled the plug on my guppy tank filter in the night because they were "disturbing his sleep." I woke up to a tank of dead fish. He was a cat lover, so we had many cats; fish and plants were not his thing. My mother was very understanding and scooped out the dead fish. We had a few survive, so we just tried to quiet the filter.
Yes, please! I would love to see you set up a saltwater tank on a budget! I’m glad you feel reinvigorated! I too was considering setting up a saltwater tank next.
I really liked this video! Not just the message, but how it was delivered! Like sitting at the kitchen table just talking with your buddy. And SW on a budget does sound like a cool video.
It's funny because I don't usually like the mens men (or lads/blokes is we call him now in the UK where I live) but I see myself in the middle. I have a man bun, I also like gaming and anime and share feelings, but I also know how to lay a carpet/flooring, build things, do diy, gardening, keep my fish tank looking tidy, and like the occasional drink and still believe in harsher punishment especially at schools, and my sense of humour is pretty unfiltered. Probably why I don't have many friends either 😂 can't find anyone in that middle ground. Both stereotypes in this generation can look bad to the other side as ones seen as a nerd who doesn't step outside, and the others seen as a manual worker pub dweller.
I start the hobby back up. It's been a little over 20 years but started introducing live plants into my aquariums. I have an old 10 gallon starter tank I had as a kid I plant to work on. Just doing a few small tanks before I do thar. My mom isn't happy with me but I'm having fun and that's the important part.
I rewatched this video and I’ll tell you what, this is a great video because you explain so much to the viewers like you always do anyway. I’ve had much of the same experience with crossing over to saltwater and I couldn’t have said all this better myself. Thanks so much! 👍
You’re big cichlid tanks got me obsessed years ago and I always wanted cichlids and predator type fish but I’ve recently converted to live plants and small fish and it’s been a whole new experience!
For me it’s 100% the systems, technology, and automation that is very alluring about marine keeping. I’ve drawn a lot of inspiration from watching BRS and applied as much as I can to my planted tank, using dosing pumps, reactors, and even an ATO. One day I’ll go salty!
John awesome video. I was just the opposite, I was a saltwater guy for over 20 years before going to freshwater. I'm now at the aquascaping part....LOL I'm breeding and raising guppies and expanding everyday. I have done many reef tanks on a budget. I would love to see what you come up with. Thank you also for responding to my questions about food last week. I really enjoy the videos y'all produce. Have a great time with the new projects.
Did you have long term success with the cheap tanks? I personally haven't really seen budget tanks being successful long term. Pump, heater, ato failure while you're not home can easily be death
@Racing&Beats I started saltwater tanks before ato's or any of the modern gadgets were put there. And yes I had plenty of success. I set up reefs with true live rock and everything in the tank had a job. A true reef is a ecosystem and if you do water changes provide circulation and lighting you need little else.
@@joestephens1506 Yep my late father was the same, in the early 80's he kept marine with no fancy gadgets that everyone has these days and he kept that tank running for years without any disasters
This is spot on. So much to enjoy about fishkeeping and the aquarium hobby and its not just about getting what fish you like. Recently got serious about my aquascaping game and it invigorated me and my soul for weeks and it feels like i just started this hobby againbfor the first time. Im just filled with excitement now everyday all day.
My new thing? I'm currently gathering supplies to build my very first pond. It'll be in my new greenhouse, sharing space with my hydroponics garden. I'm repurposing an old freezer I dismantled to build it. My brain has been churning with ideas and plans on how exactly I want to do the whole project. It'll be about 140 gallons, and I'll get my very first goldfish. Planning to get just a couple Wakin or Shubunkin goldfish. Definitely exciting!
I'm glad my dad was a bit different way back in the 60s he had a 55 gal metal framed tank with black veil angels it was simply planted with valisneria but those 3 pair of angels were gorgeous in that tank he'd pull slates with eggs and raised the fry to trade at a pet shop my love of aquarium started way back then 😀
Very true. I started a saltwater tank about a year ago and it like I reinvented myself within the hobby. And those of you on the fence, it is not that much more expensive. I'm using the same canister filters I was using. Just that salt is added to the mix. To be fair, the fish are quite a bit more expensive, but definitely worth it. If you are on the fence, just do it. It is very rewarding. Now, on to a planted tank.... ;)
It's so fun to hear about others view on the world of aquariums. I told my partner I wanted an aquarium and he was like "fine, as long I don't have to do anything to it, do whatever you want". Then he came to the conclusion that if he ever should have one, it would be a heavily planted one. So now, when I put up one like that, he actually likes it, and if I ask for his opinion, he actually cares a bit :p It's still my hobby, but just adding some extra plants and so made him a lot more interested.
I'm happy you found new ways to enjoy the hobby. As for me I started as a normal fishkeeper, then I tried aquascaping and went kack to keeping a lowtech tank, because aquascapes where too much of a hassle. Instead I got into tropical houseplants and find them more rewarding than aquarium plants to be honest. Now I am considering to try out aquaponics
Never claiming "to be an expert"...never claiming to be..."smarter than the next guy" and your willingness to stand your ground firmly on what you do know, think you know and be willing to discuss it is what made me switch from a random viewer (since 2008) to subscriber. Thanks for what you share and try to do for the industry and those keeping "glass boxes" with life in them...!!!
I been keeping saltwater fish and reef tanks for the last 40 years. I love to watch your videos even though I did not keep fresh water fish. I am so glad you're getting into saltwater fish. I really liked and can relate to being a man. I am looking forward to future videos.
The story about your dad has me 😂. My dad was the opposite when it came to plants, he was a "man's man", a Vietnam veteran, SpecOps, a mechanic, a fishermen, but also a farmer and rancher. So planting, growing and tending were apart of his nature. 😅 He loved chickens and loved gardening, so I feel like he would've enjoyed a planted tank. Just interesting dynamic. I'm a female, but since I was the eldest of the 4 kids, I was in charge of helping on the farm outside, whereas my 3 little brothers helped mom do the house work. 😅 funny how same but different families can be ❤
I’m not in a position to set up a saltwater tank, budget or otherwise, but I love learning new things! Some handy hints work for some pretty unexpected situations, so, yes. Please create the video!
Great video John! We met at the Aquatic Experience in Jersey two years in a row and we talked at length about....baseball.. You, Jason and I - doubt you'd remember but the fact we talked so much baseball maybe you do recall. I'm a Yankee fan and you are a Nats fan first - and Yankees second (how's that working out). All my tanks - 9 at my zenith, and now down to three - taking a page from this video - planning to convert one of my tanks to a planted tank. Will do this over the summer. But what really caught my ear was you being into scale modelling. LOL! Another hobby I enjoyed over 40 years ago and getting back into it. I purchased all the tools and paints imaginable and have a pretty large stash of unbuilt models - mostly from late 70s early 80s. The technology used today in the scale modelling space blows my mind. As soon as the planted tank is setup - gonna build my first diorama. Looking forward to that. If Aquatic Experience does return I plan to go - and if you are there - we'd talk about scale modelling. Thanks for all the great content over the years! Will continue following your vids.
Thank you John for what you do. From someone who has been in the hobby off and on since the late 1980’s, I appreciate and relate to your father’s hypothetical words. I wouldn’t dare show my late father what I’m doing with my tanks these days. Keep changing your water like a rational fish keeper would and so will I. My best to you and your bride! 🙏
absolutely do a saltwater tank on a budget!!! My biggest fear about salt water tanks is honestly always been the cost if something happens and they die. Salt water fish are typically a lot more expensive then fresh water ... and everything for them has always seemed so much more complicated. salinity, sumps, protein skimmers.. The cost of entry into salt water always seemed just too high for something I could easily screw up and kill .
I would agree. You can avoid catastrophic failure by spending weeks/ months learning. I had one saltwater fish death from disease and now quarantine everything. It's something you can't really ignore at busy times of your life either like many planted freshwater tanks. But hey if you have some cash sitting around and you're confident do it, just don't try to do it really cheap.
You don’t need a sump they are particularly only important for large saltwater systems like 125gal and above anything under that you could run a simple canister filter like a fx4 or fx6 and run a skimmer that is slightly rated above your tank size and your good to go just don’t add anemones unless the tank is like 2 months old or they will just die atleast in my experience
@@thatstonerr7738 I would disagre with this. Generally with saltwater tanks the main benfit of a sump is water volume. With really small water volumes the tank experices very drastic changes with literally everything. Temps, nutients, elements, salinity, alk, ect. This is obviously really bad for a reef enviornment and its even bad for a fish only environments. Generally a newcomer would really struggle with a small tank. A 40 gal tank with a 40 gal sump is going to be a lot more stable than just a 40 with a canister filter. I would argue that a sump also makes the tank look substantially better.
@@racingbeats1493 it’s subjective to the bio media of choice that’s being used some more effective then others I personally have a 40g breeder that has nems and a pair of clownfish in it granted that is a low bio load regardless with just my fx4 a small HOB a 110 gallon skimmer with half an undergravel filter in there and I maintain almost perfect parameters so again it depends on how you chose to setup the system 🤷♀️
YES!!!! Saltwater setup on a budget!!! And if you like planted tanks you could take your salt water budget tank into the planted world and do a macro algae setup!
This is exactly how I felt moving to saltwater. After keeping freshwater for decades, it is cool, but starts to lose a bit of luster. Moving to saltwater truly reinvigorated my love for the hobby, it’s like it was brand new. On paper it may not seem so different, but the fish are totally different! They are awesome, and so much more captivating. It is more expensive, and more work, but I wouldn’t go back. This hobby has always been my main hobby and joy in life, and going saltwater has really cemented that. I’ve never loved a tank nearly as much as this one. Still stocking too, fish are expensive :)
seems like we grew up in the same era. theses days folks get offended by just about everything. keep sharing your knowledge and experience... we love your channel
Thanks for the video, yes, please do post a vid about a saltwater tank on a budget, and thanks for reminding me I need to order some of your plants! Have a wonderful afternoon!😊
Definitely do a salt water tank on a budget video. I've successfully set up a 36 and 75 gallon tanks just by watching your channel and I would love to learn about the salt water side of things from you because you are my go to for anything aquarium related. You always make things easy to understand for me so thank you very much for all your hard work.
John, this video………..the realest you’ve ever been! I am where I am in the hobby because of of your videos. You are the MAN! Keep it up and thanks for being yourself! Props my brother!
How to do salt water tanks on a budget video, would be greatly appreciated, thank you. I don't get bored with my 2 goldfish tanks but, I have always been fascinated with salt water fish. Just gorgeous. I'm glad to see you have an interest in salt water fish also.
Back in the day before social media, we lived in Milwaukee, and were part of an active aquarium club. We were also lucky to have a salt water exclusive store. Friday nights tended to be very social. There was a group of us that would show at closing time and it bscame a great social and learning time.
Hey, would def want to see a salt water tank on a budget! Always wanted to start one up just to get my feet wet. Just need some guidance! Thanks so much for the upload! It's great to see a hobby re‐excite someone that they have been doing for years.
Yes! Salt water tanks on a budget would be a great idea! I’m not sure if salt water will be in my future but I love learning more about it to see if one day I’ll give it a shot.
Game changer or not I still can’t afford salt water aquariums. The fish and equipment are expensive and the keep coral and dosing for water parameters to keep it alive is ALOT. still not sure how to get into. And want to sooo bad but John I’m telling you even the fish are expensive, live rocks all the equipment requirements. It’s for someone who can seriously afford it or have friends to give them the setups. So please do it on a budget for someone who’s broke and owns 8 freshwater aquariums.
Now l see the real reason Jake Adams choose you. Very genuine dude. I must admit Jake have a good sense of picking good vibes on people. Just subscribed , I love the authencity and how you take accountability about things.
After almost 50 years of doing freshwater, I recently set up a salt tank 4 months ago. You hit the nail on the head, my experience was almost exactly as you described. I have 10 fish and 20 corals in a 75g and am already thinking about adding a bigger tank. It is a totally new puzzle solve and I love it.
I am in the same boat too. Been doing freshwater for a while until i wanted a new challenge and after weeks of gathering my supplies for a saltwater tank from dry rock , rodi systems to skimmers and everything in between. I did things on the low end budget such as finding stuff of offer up and fb marketplace. I finally pulled the trigger and started the process of coverting my 40g breeder that i had for guppies. Fast forward a couple months after having my tank cycle i finally purchased a pair of clowns. And man i can say it was all worth it 😅 my kids had their mind blown to have nemos in their living room . For anyone considering a saltwater tank . Its worth it and do-able on a budget. I think the parts i paid full price for was the pair of clown fish.
There are all kinds of magnifying glasses on stands with lights for crafters. I've been wearing glasses since I was nine, nothing "shameful" about needing readers; it's all good. I bet you look really smart in glasses. Thanks for the video. Take care, be well
I have written off saltwater, and I have zero interest in starting one. I've also, a long time ago, put my foot down on going to baby and bridal showers (unless it's my daughter. Then I'd be there to help load stuff and be there for her because she's one of the few people still on this side of the veil that's I'd set the world on fire for).
I can definitely relate to your comments about your Dad! I have a ranch, train wild horses and spend the rest of my time fixing tractors but if my Dad was still alive he'd STILL be saying "Are you playing with those girly fish tanks again? And by the way get a haircut!" 😂😂
Absolutely would love to see a video on a salt water tank on a budget! I loved the videos on your awesome salt water tank build, so this would be a great video for those of us that may be tinkering with an idea to start one of our own. Thanks, John, as always for the great video.
For sure do a video on starting a saltwater tank on a budget. If you can do a freshwater tank a saltwater tank is just as easy. Fish cost more and water changes cost a little more. Other than that same thing. Great content as usual 🙏. I miss my tanks. Someday soon I will take the plunge again 🙈🙏
Yes please John please do show us the budget marine tank. I’ve wanted to dive into the salt water world for a while but my Dad (who hasn’t kept fish for over 30 years but back in the day he kept Lion Fish, Sea Horses, Puffers, Clowns and many more in multiple tanks) says it’s too much work. He says marine is a full time job and can’t be done around working and raising children. He did it, but is adamant I shouldn’t because he struggled to keep it up. If you can show me a marine setup on a budget that can be maintained around a busy schedule, I’m in!!!
I did saltwater for a decade and had a lot of fun, after starting a family I switched to planted aquariums and enjoy the hobby even more. It’s equally as satisfying and not as time consuming or expensive for my particular setup
G'day John. My first saltwater fowlr tank had and still has a sponge filter, heater and a small power head I have added a couple of corals. Just as easy as fresh water . Thanks 👍💚🇦🇺
I got into planta to keep my tanks healthier. I also like mixing live and fake plants too. My favorite part is matching my fish with their eviorment. I also like seeing them swarm and eat like they have never eaten a day in their life.
I'd also be interested in a budget marine tank video or series but also/moreso the "KG Tropicals" runthrough of maintaining and starting saltwater. There's a fair few good ones out there granted, but none that have grabbed me or engaged me. Definitely nothing that convinced me to try out "the dark side." PS I'm offended. 😉
Yes please do saltwater on a budget video. I have been thinking about doing one but don't really know how to get started and what all extra I would need.
I want to see you in Charlotte at the Carolina Aquatics Expo in June, lol. My daughter wants to go so I have to drive 3 1/2 hours to Washington, NC. Spend the night, then me and her will be on the road at 5 a.m. Saturday. Drive back to Lexington to puck up my son and his girlfriend and then drive another 50 minutes to the Charlotte Convention center. Me and my son went down there yesterday to see where it was and where parking is so I don't waste time driving around downtown Charlotte which is not my favorite place to be on a Saturday. Can't wait to see you and Lisa and all the cool stuff.
I’m brand new to the hobby so still learning the whole fresh water side lol, I’d definitely like to try a salt water tank at some point in the future so you making a video of how to do it on the cheap side would be great..
Absolutely do a saltwater tank on a budget. Would love to see it and have been curious myself about how or what direction to go about it. I've been keeping freshwater for 20 plus years but have never done saltwater but want to try it at some point just no idea what direction to go or how. Hopefully if you do make a video on it you use a minimum of a 75 gallon tank being that's a typical person bigger tank. Smaller for some of us but a good middle ground for both sides that could be affordable.
In a world of two hobbies divided, comes John with KG tropicals. The man with the idea, the know-how, the technology. Here to merge two worlds of vast expanse into one consolidated, juxtaposed form of beauty. 😊
Lol, love the dumb and dumber clip!😂. You got to it before I could use it. 🤣 John it’s truely great seeing how you both share the evolution of the hobby to the life style of fish keeping. Yes saltwater is awesome!! I just finished setting up my 120 with sump and my 5 stage RODI with two 65 gallon containers. 👍
Yes, do a series about saltwater aquariums on a budget. For me it's the availability of saltwater fish that is the problem, most pet stores don't have any at all and those that do have a very limited selection. I live in Sweden.
I was considering scaling back to one aquarium and possibly getting rid of all of them. Until I started planting more heavily. Now I'm hooked. I just planted a 3.5g for a display shrimp tank, and am in the process of planting a 75 for a community with a pair of angels as a centerpiece. This is after scaping the rest of my tanks, except the one with Buenos Aires tetras (tried it once, they even ate swords and Anubias). With it slowing down the frequency of water changes somewhat, I'm thrilled, and all my platies and rasboras seem to enjoy the plants!
Yay! Welcome to the dark side. 😂😂. I have been a freshwater fish keeper for 15 years. I also now do saltwater with corals for the last two years! I love it and so will you! Can’t wait to see all your new videos on it too! Hope to see you at Aquashella! Much love y’all from Austin! ❤
I haven't been in thi hobby as long as you do, but your channel definitely inspired me to try new things. I found my favourite fish (german blue rams) and now I'm setting up to breed them. First, small sccale to see if there's even a market for them where I live. With a bit of luck, maybe it will help me to (at least partially), fund a next step, which is setting up my first ever salt water tank. And yes, thumbs up for a salt water tank on a budget video(s).
The saltwater tank on a budget would be awesome. I have a 672lt tank and I have no idea what to put in it. Been doing freshwater for 14 years and perhaps it is time for a change
Yes, definitely do a saltwater on a budget. I think it would be very interesting. Also, I thought that nano tank with plants was beautiful and would love to see you do more. ❤
Something I'd add is that experimenting with other types of set ups can help rejuvenate that love of the hobby. I'd start with a riparium, then a vivarium, then if you are up for it, a terrarium. I'd go this route because it's a better transition. Starting with a riparium means no need to worry about a terrestrial plant mix or drainage layer. You can just focus on the fundamentals of setting up a tank with an aquatic section and terrestrial section. One of they keys with a riparium is learning how to efficiently build up height without using way too many scaping materials. And as each step on that path is more expensive than the last it's a good idea to learn how to build with that mentality and with the methods to pull it off successfully with the least expensive of the 3 stages. A vivarium will have a tropical terrestrial substrate mix, and if you thought aquasoil was expensive the cost to make that mix or buy it pre made will blow the cost of aquasoil out of the water. You will need to account for the drainage layer when planting the aquatic section and need to invest in a misting system. All of which takes much more forethought than a riparium. You can also now massively expand your terrestrial plant selection and those plants are not cheep like aquatic plants. You can also now stock the tank with the land area in mind so things like vampire crabs or fire bellied toads. Then when you finally get to a terrarium you know the fundamentals for a good looking scape, the fundamentals of the drainage layer, as well as humidity management. You also have an understanding of aquatic plants so can easily add a water feature if you want. You now have an entirely new hobby under your belt and are going into it with a much deeper level of understanding than most people who get into bioactive terrariums do at the start. You will have an easier time of it as you did most of your learning through errors on the previous scapes. You have gotten use to using different materials like spray foam in your builds. And you probably have a bunch of spare materials. Another thing you can do is get a VERY different type of animal. If you have only kept fish, get some shrimp, or a species of aquatic Frog. If you are up for a genuine challenge and accept the very long term responsibility, get a small species of turtle like a musk or mud turtle. There are many things you can do to bring the passion for this hobby back. Just takes a willingness to learn again and a few hundred bucks to spare. Also a small tip for a riparium and vivarium. Go with rimless cubes and have them side by side then get a light long enough to span both tanks. Will save you a little bit of money on the light, especially if you go with a higher end brand like the fluval 3.0 or chihiros wrgb2 series. Getting a 48 inch instead of two 24 inch models of either one will save you over a hundred bucks. Use that saved money to invest in a hanging kit to really take your scape to the next level. Also I suggest using an ultrasonic mist maker on the riparium, makes for a really cool look when the lights are ramping up or down.
Planted tanks/aquascaping is what me back into aquariums after 25 years without a tank. I now have four planted tank and one with CO2. If I was to start a salt water tank it would be a macro algae tank.
I have a plan to breakdown my freshwater 20g Cube and set it back up as my first saltwater tank. The setup most likely won’t happen until the end of the year, but I have a plan… lol. I think I’ll do those micro algaes that I’m hearing about now.
I wish Matthew Zahler were still independent from BRS for this, because you two would do a great collaboration on starting on the salty side. He and Jake (met him at his final Aquashella) are the reasons I crossed the line into salt, so to speak. And, I think it's great you are blurring that line! It needs to happen. In the future, it should be what are the water parameters for a fish?: temp, pH, alkalinity, and salinity. Just one different number.

Planted tanks is what has been keeping me in the hobby and the joy going. Love your videos, thanks.
Started my first aquarium so I’m new to all of this and I’m loving your videos so thank you
For me it’s 100% the systems, technology, and automation that is very alluring about marine keeping.
Not sure why but this video really hit home. Love all the work you guys do and appreciate these videos more than you know. Have a great day everyone
It is more costly make no mistake
YES!!!! Saltwater setup on a budget!!! And if you like planted tanks you could take your salt water budget tank into the planted world and do a macro algae setup!
Yes!!!! Saltwater on a budget!
I would LOVE to see a video on Saltwater tanks on s budget! I always wanted a saltwater tank 🤩
Thanks John💕👍
If I ever dip my toe into the salty side it'll be a 75g FOWLR; right now I'm still loving being a Freshy😎
seems like we grew up in the same era. theses days folks get offended by just about everything. keep sharing your knowledge and experience... we love your channel
Thanks for the video, yes, please do post a vid about a saltwater tank on a budget, and thanks for reminding me I need to order some of your plants! Have a wonderful afternoon!😊
Yes !! Saltwater on a budget vid please. That's the one thing that's holding me back from takeing the leap is how expensive it is.
Yes, I would love to see a budget saltwater tank vid
Back in the day before social media, we lived in Milwaukee, and were part of an active aquarium club. We were also lucky to have a salt water exclusive store. Friday nights tended to be very social. There was a group of us that would show at closing time and it bscame a great social and learning time.
Hey, would def want to see a salt water tank on a budget! Always wanted to start one up just to get my feet wet. Just need some guidance! Thanks so much for the upload! It's great to see a hobby re‐excite someone that they have been doing for years.
Yes, do the salt water tank on a budget. I look forward to it
I would love to see you do a salt water tank on a budget. I always anticipate KG Tropicals projects!
Yeah that's a great plan, love to watch that idea for salt water start up ❤
The saltwater tank on a budget sounds very appealing! I always enjoy finding out what keeps people into the hobby. Keep sharing!
I DO want to SOMEDAY do saltwater tanks. So yes! Please do!
Thanks. This motivated me to get my very first orca.
Absolutely do a video on a budget saltwater tank. Enjoy your videos. Keep up the good work!
Budget build would be awesome - not enough of that stuff around 🙂
Yes! I need the details about salt water. I have always assumed it's too difficult and expensive.
The moment the hobby goes to your lifestyle is incredible 🙌
Budget saltwater aquarium is a good shout John, go for it!
Cheers
Aaron
Agree, I would love to see a budget salt water tank. Like you I have always had visions of tons of $$ to set one up
I'd also be interested in a budget marine tank video or series but also/moreso the "KG Tropicals" runthrough of maintaining and starting saltwater. There's a fair few good ones out there granted, but none that have grabbed me or engaged me. Definitely nothing that convinced me to try out "the dark side."
PS I'm offended. 😉
I’d love to see the budget saltwater video. Maybe alternative/competing approaches to budget saltwater tanks?
That cool to watch a low budget saltwater tank. My first saltwater tank was one. 36 gallon bow front aquaclear 70 and a cheap protein skimmer.
I’d love to see that video. Let’s see if it can be done!
In a world of two hobbies divided, comes John with KG tropicals. The man with the idea, the know-how, the technology. Here to merge two worlds of vast expanse into one consolidated, juxtaposed form of beauty. 😊
Make it a trilogy, I'd watch it!
@@adamworley196 100% !!!🤠
Im here for the salt water tank on a budget video, please!
A saltwater tank on a budget would be great! I haven't pulled the trigger on saltwater because it does seem too expensive
Do saltwater budget tank. It’s easy. I love that you’re getting into salt water. Then maybe you can do seahorses .
You should totally do the salt water tank on a budget Video! I would love to see that!
Plants are a game changer 😜🐠🎸
Let’s do it! Saltwater on a budget!
I have a plan to breakdown my freshwater 20g Cube and set it back up as my first saltwater tank. The setup most likely won’t happen until the end of the year, but I have a plan… lol. I think I’ll do those micro algaes that I’m hearing about now.
Yes, do it. Saltwater tanks can be done on a budget. I did it with my old 20 and 40b. I was terrified and it turned out ok!
Yes, please do a salt water tank on a budget project video.
Really enjoyed learning more about your fish keeping journey today. Yes!! Please do a budget saltwater video!
