Augh this is so lovely and relaxing to watch! I'm so drawn by that Marley colour too, I must look into getting that. I've always called ink that dries into multiple colours 'polychromatic ink', but i've no idea if that's the proper term, and I couldn't even tell you where I heard/read that but it makes sense to me. XD I can't really put my finger on why either, but the way you do swatches is so appealing to me. Everything just looks so juicy and textural. Yum! I'm also always really impressed with that onion paper; I keep feeling like it's just going to rip and tear if you draw too hard on it, or that it'll just melt away with all the ink. But it's holding fast! I think I can't help but think it's just like newsprint or something. XD Gorgeous video Sophie!! I really adore that illustration of the mushroom woman. It's so lush and full!
The only type of fountain pen that would do justice to these shimmering inks are the broad nibs. I have over 100 fountain pens in my collection and some amazing inks some that shimmer, some that shade, and some that do both, and they never work in any fountain pens other than the broad nib ones. The paper also makes a huge difference in getting the full effect of the ink. Your onion skin paper is perfect for the inks you have, but it’s important to test them on all kinds of other papers in order to see which ones work best. Same thing applies to the expensive granulating watercolors, cheap paper or certain kinds of paper won’t get them to do what they are designed to do. Love how you approached this inkvent challenge. I still haven’t opened my inkvent box. I will treat myself to some inkvent days after the holidays when all things will calm down for me. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 🎉🎉🎉 ❤❤❤

I was sceptical about shimmery paints, but seeing you create beautiful illustrations made me believe we can use them more than a painted golden crown or embellishments. Lovely paintings! I can't stop thinking about the Grotto ink! (and also wondering what the name has to do with Christmas...) The red and gold combo reminds me a lot of my Irish dance solo dress, so I knew I already had an affinity for these colors!! I watched the video shortly after you posted it, but I came back today to comment because I've been dreaming about that ink lol
😂😂☺️ ‘grotto’. My partner is from Aus and when he came to UK I said something about Greta Garbo in the Madonna song Vogue and he said Garbo? What kind of name is that? It’s like garbage truck. I can’t hear the song the same anymore. So many more beautiful paintings ❤❤
