Thanks for making these videos. Some great insights. Just need to find a dealer near me that actually has one I can see in real life!

Hi, thanks for your Trekker videos. We’re looking at the Trekker. Not control panel related: is their any ventilation in the wet room? What are your experiences? Thanks.

That's one thing I was curious about before buying the van too. There's no opening window or skyligh in the shower room but there is a high level vent in the side of van. There is also a heater outlet in the shower room and a hanging rail for wet clothes and a couple of hooks for towels. We have used the van for showers and the toilet and haven't had any issues with ventilation. The shower is lovely and hot and a well designed shower head that makes it feel like more water is being sprayed than actually is. There is plenty of ventilation in the van with the opening windows and the skylight.

One of the great things about the shower room is that there is no shower curtain to fight with. So many vans have a shower curtain which in such a small space would be difficult to not get stuck to. When looking for a van, if it had a shower curtain I would scroll on by.

    Another question.
What dictates the solar charge to the engine battery?
Does it only charge the van battery when the leisure is full or does it send charge if the van battery is low?
I’m guessing it’s a voltage sensitive relay when the van battery drops below a certain voltage.

@@NemesisofSparta it switches between them depending on which one needs it most. You can manually over ride this. You can also choose which battery is used for power to the van systems.

      That’s good. Thanks for confirming.

Is the leisure battery also charged by the alternator

Yes, the leisure battery is charged when the engine is running

You mentioned that once the engine has been started everything shuts down. I assume this isn’t the case for the fresh and waste water heaters?

That’s a very good question. Haven’t had need to test it but will have a look at the manual.

I’ve checked the handbook and the tank heaters remain operational if turned on and the ignition is started. The heater is also linked to the level sensors in the two tanks so only operates when there is water in them.

That’s what I suspected. I believe they also only activate once the external temperature drops below 4*c and then switch off once it reaches 8*c

@@NemesisofSparta yes, you turn them on and then they react to the water level and the external temperature.
