One big issue I have with the game is the actual starting rank. I don’t play much, but I did enjoy the ranked games in CSGO as a DMG. I won't play CS2 ranked games at all because I don't have the time or nerves to go back from Silver to the equivalent skill ranking.
The issue is not the hard reset. That is actually a good thing. The issue is that people that started just after beta end, they got placed on 1-2-3k and you was playing with a ton of Globals. And now a new player instantly goes up to 6-7k and the one that stopped playing at 1-2k is stuck below the new (maybe worse) player.
Why the fuck are you scared of silver? Just put on the smurf jacket and stomp and have fun. People pay to play in that rank to stomp. You're living the dream. You're on the greener grass. You will make it back to DMG, and you will have fun stomping lower ranks. Unless you really think deep in your heart that you're not actually DMG and you want to cling onto that title because you feel like you don't belong.

I also think that the mmr gained in beta wasnt completly reset either thats why some people were able to get ranked around 10k elo even at the release. I didnt get to play much of the beta and as a csgo global player got ranked into 3.5k elo with a 65% or so winrate. Now im hovering around 5k elo not really wanning to grind and just playing for much weakly drops, getting matched with mostly 7-12k elo people which when i spectate them are playing like csgo silver/gold players. Its just frustating, my smurf on the otherhand just got placed at 5.5k elo or so (it was like ak or so) and is now up to nearly 8k elo because the mates i get on that acc seem to be around that csgo rank as well. Then there is the issue with the mmr gain beeing fixed at the start of the game -> when i win with 4 people against 5 i think that the 4 of us should gain more in comparison to when we were 5. Also played with my main 3.5k and a friend 4.5k as a duo and even thou we played together he got like 70elo more for a win than me -> would be understandable if the elo gain/loss would also be dependend on performance in game but its not. that entire system seems not that well thought through

If you hard reset, you hard reset everyone not only the people that just started playing after BETA. also BETA rating don't matter you can go and see pros getting placed 2k rating on release. Soft resets RIOT does are stupid and blacklists accounts. Especially now that the system is MMR based it would be 100% stupid to make that move as a soft reset would mean someone who was very good at CSGO what isn't able to adapt to CS2 would be high elo. Also people who was low silver would be doomed to that elo. You can see why this was bad on BETA, where the rank was somewhat transfered from CSGO
The "what you see is what you get" part is that gets me. There is not a single game i do not die behind walls (or that i dont kill people behind walls)
Personally getting matched up against vastly different skill groups were never a huge problem for me in CS:GO (At least not in the latest years). (1:27) Using 3 matches played on Office as a comparison might be a bit misleading. I can see people having the complete opposite of my experience though.. based on differing maps, time and region. Office player here. It is misleading but not as much as you think. Depending on the time you decide to queue, you could either run into balanced matches with similar ranks or 5 stacks of le-global people
It wasn't a huge problem for me on most maps, but still existed. Maps like mirage late at night or cache pretty much any time usually were mismatched ranks. I loved hostage maps like office and agency but those were the maps with the biggest mismatched rank problems
The game will never die as long a handfull of people are still having fun playing, that being said there is a lot volvo needs to fix/add to bring it up to the standard we got used to from CSGO

More bug fixes, add tuscan, train, cache, cobblestone back (with map 2024 collections), new case and new operation, zeus skins, no garbage emotes n stuff. Add back workshop maps, war games like flying scoutman, retakes etc. and thats literally it.
The game is an open beta right now. If you look at it that way, you won't get tilted by all the things missing. There seems to be a steady stream of updates just about every week. All that I can ask for from a game I didn't even pay for. The drop in players is all hype. They'll be back when the next operation drops. Hopefully its a Christmas/New Years present. I'm enjoying the game even though I'm silver and get shit on in MM by good players. 🤷🏻♂️
Cheating is an issue and was in GO but we still had players. The main reason for player drop is that it takes better hardware to run the game. Valve didn’t give 128 tick servers because a majority of the player base didn’t get at least 128fps. Now even mid tier PCs can’t even run the game smooth, shit is so stuttery and unoptimized it puts people off from playing.
And DZ will take time. It's probably the only game mode where Valve can flex S2 capabilities, so I'll go out on a limb and say that when they reintroduce it, they'll do it with a bang.
In CSGO, I always played DM as a warmup, and, in my matches was always the same one player “ Obiwankanoli” . Even in CS2 he is seen in my death matches.
But on the other hand, it makes sense too. Now the community has the time to make new skins with the new Source 2 workshop tools and make the new skins to a new standard.
In my opinion it's a great chance for Counter Strike newbies like me that the prices have fallen so much... I'm currently buying and buying all the old holo stickers from Cologne 2014 to Stockholm 2021 for 20 to 40 percent less than at the all time high two months ago! 🙂

People just assume skins are crashing but to me it seems they are stabilizing. Cs2 has been riding a high player count when released and players want flash skins and this inflated the stable price of them. Now they are coming back to there real value

To those complaining about skin “investing” you probably deserve to lose that money. Yes, skins are an asset and an integral part of the game but if you’re only here to make a quick buck, you’re gonna lose. Don’t listen to what others tell you to buy and just buy the cheap skins you actually like and just hold them. A lot of market manipulation has been going on and the best way to counter it is to not buy in on the hype. I know some skins are still messed up for example the printstream, and I hope the skin market is on Valves bottom list of their priorities to fix. cl_righthand is literally 1 line of code. Max 3. It's such a small fix for something as important as stickers go. I find it truly cursed how they are unable to fix something so important for left hand users. Cs2 overall has just been the biggest let down. I'm currently just playing nova in MM since ranked is the biggest farce possible. Also idk why they haven't focused on bringing overwatch back. I have had my fair share of confirmed kills on that stuff. But I guess they don't want to bother with unban requests on overwatch bans no more.

Cheaters are rampant in competetive, had to suffer through this to get a friend to level 10. Premier has much less cheaters once you are ranked. But before that it had lots too.
If they dropped the stupid 7day trade ban and supported player trading(They can make their own antiscam methods and just support it), the economy would take off it would be so cool for a company not to be so money hungry that they take efforts to stop players from profiting. Steam steals 15% of all sales on the market, when you go to sell that item they again take 15%, ontop of that now they block you for a whole week of time and also freeze the funds for a couple of days after selling. Eveyr measure to stop players from thriving and pushing them out of the community to go elsewhere.
with a major right around the corner in march, it wouldnt surprise me if theyre simply trying to iron out the game before new content is released so it wont be a mess for new viewers. Per map MM still has mostly Global/Supremes on GN 3-4 unable to get a higher rank. But the games also have random newbies there. Making every game pretty unbalanced, which wasn’t the case in CSGO. I am tired of having a teammate that can’t do anything, in every game. In CSGO people were underperforming in high rank MM, but it was still their rank. In CS2 - I know that my teammate used to be low rank in CSGO when he calls cheats on enemy carry, who was GE in CSGO and is 2500+ on faceit
Premier mode destroyed competitive match making lol. Its been a couple of games already and most people whom I played with just play competitive mode as a chill game because its not premier. This is actually a big problem in the near future. Because even I started to see competitive match making to be like unranked/unrated game because most people are gonna focus more on premier than MM. I think this also factor that they made a rank per map system instead of only one rank, and that made people to stop grinding on comp match making.. 2nd issue with cs2 is server. Holly fuck i just want to go back to 64 tick idc if its inconsistent af. But considering that i live on a place with shitty internet and high ping, i cant help noticing the ping advantage of low ping players. Like playing 80 ping is like playing 150 ping back in csgo. Having a high ping feels soo bad in this new server. Shooting and perking is bad with high ping. And yea. Lastly that cheating problem is getting out of hand again lloooll.😢
i want the old system rank in mm, i guess no one will ever try to get higher then silver on overpass or ancient, vertigo, and inferno can still get some work, it feels weird to play on
They could bring a ton of people back and a good amount of new people with a new case release and a battle royale mode similar to Danger Zone. I only played Danger Zone and I know a lot of people that did the same, so CS2 has been dead to me.

When people think cheating isn't a problem it's almost always because they either don't play the game at all, or don't at a high level. I have played cs since 2014 and valorant only for the last few months and it's miles different when it comes to cheating. Saying otherwise is coping
Rubber banding, ping difference imbalance, server performance, leader board rating win/loss +/- amount. Selected Competitive map elo balancing, and full scale anti cheat with vac live catching rage hackers and the more nuisance players that are trying to hide them. What you see isn't what you get, you get what you saw after a 2 second delay.
Comparing CS to Valve's other game Dota 2. Dota has historically had a smurfing problem, but smurfing only happens in maybe 1/20 games in noob MMR brackets so it's not game ruining. CS2 feels like it has someone fucking cheating in every other game. Playing in Silver bracket and there is always someone who is 10-0 with 100% HS rate. There are also speedruns on youtube of people installing cheats and seeing how long it takes them to get banned, laughing about it the entire time as they ruin competitive matches for views. It's completely ridiculous and Valve does nothing about it.
For me, the "feel" actually got better, subtick is way better than 64 tickrate so I didn't have many issues with shots not counting like I had in CSGO, is still there since 128 tick is just better, but shots are easier to count in CS2, also I hated to have programs to increase brightness and color of CSGO, my monitor was too saturated, while in CS2 its not needed anymore since the game is brighter and colorful. I think we just need to adapt while valve fixes all other problems because CS2 has a lot haha.
At 01:29 there is misleading data. All the maps you have shown that had unbalanced matchmaking were Office. And we all know that Office is a map with few people playing (and when they play, they play in groups) so it is more likely to have unfair matches because if they were not unfair there would be none. I'm not saying that matchmakinbg in csgo was fair, but wasn't such a huge difference as it is now in cs2 (I think this will fix over time, but it is still a problem)
3:56 MM and Anti-cheat may always be a problem to some extent but in terms of team vs team tactical shooters, CS has somehow been one of the w worst performers for over a decade. I REALLY hope they do think about improving these aspects soon, but my confidence about that is wearing thin.
Automated bans for "receiving more reports than average users" and half of the console commands being removed are why i stopped playing and doubt i will come back tbh played the game for over 10 years at this time whats the point
is it just me or do frames drop significantly when scoping threw mollys with an awp I dont have the best spec I play on an acer nitro 5 but play the game on high with no issues. just scoping threw mollys is aids.
Anyone excusing the release saying CSGO was terrible on release are shilling for Valve. CS2 is 99.99% a copy and paste of CSGO. Just because they had to recode everything onto a new engine is not an excuse for such a terrible state of the game.
Add a Subscription would help. Make Botters Subscribe for ALL their accounts, And they will Charge for the levels they gained in Service Medals. Making it FAR MORE EXPENSIVE to purchase a Botted Account, with a Sub, That has the original owners Identity tied to it. or, What Valve Admin is sabotaging the game by selling out how to get around the cheats.

Seems like quite an unpopular opinion, but im quite happy the skin price has dropped. The prices were outrageous since the reveal.
It needed to happen it’s just unfortunate the cause is that a quarter of the player base left and not because they just drop a bunch new content.

If they dropped the stupid 7day trade ban and supported player trading(They can make their own antiscam methods and just support it), the economy would take off it would be so cool for a company not to be so money hungry that they take efforts to stop players from profiting. Steam steals 15% of all sales on the market, when you go to sell that item they again take 15%, ontop of that now they block you for a whole week of time and also freeze the funds for a couple of days after selling. Eveyr measure to stop players from thriving and pushing them out of the community to go elsewhere.

Per map MM still has mostly Global/Supremes on GN 3-4 unable to get a higher rank. But the games also have random newbies there. Making every game pretty unbalanced, which wasn’t the case in CSGO. I am tired of having a teammate that can’t do anything, in every game. In CSGO people were underperforming in high rank MM, but it was still their rank. In CS2 - I know that my teammate used to be low rank in CSGO when he calls cheats on enemy carry, who was GE in CSGO and is 2500+ on faceit
Premier mode destroyed competitive match making lol. Its been a couple of games already and most people whom I played with just play competitive mode as a chill game because its not premier. This is actually a big problem in the near future. Because even I started to see competitive match making to be like unranked/unrated game because most people are gonna focus more on premier than MM. I think this also factor that they made a rank per map system instead of only one rank, and that made people to stop grinding on comp match making.. 2nd issue with cs2 is server. Holly fuck i just want to go back to 64 tick idc if its inconsistent af. But considering that i live on a place with shitty internet and high ping, i cant help noticing the ping advantage of low ping players. Like playing 80 ping is like playing 150 ping back in csgo. Having a high ping feels soo bad in this new server. Shooting and perking is bad with high ping. And yea. Lastly that cheating problem is getting out of hand again lloooll.😢
i want the old system rank in mm, i guess no one will ever try to get higher then silver on overpass or ancient, vertigo, and inferno can still get some work, it feels weird to play on

When people think cheating isn't a problem it's almost always because they either don't play the game at all, or don't at a high level. I have played cs since 2014 and valorant only for the last few months and it's miles different when it comes to cheating. Saying otherwise is coping

Rubber banding, ping difference imbalance, server performance, leader board rating win/loss +/- amount. Selected Competitive map elo balancing, and full scale anti cheat with vac live catching rage hackers and the more nuisance players that are trying to hide them. What you see isn't what you get, you get what you saw after a 2 second delay.
Comparing CS to Valve's other game Dota 2. Dota has historically had a smurfing problem, but smurfing only happens in maybe 1/20 games in noob MMR brackets so it's not game ruining. CS2 feels like it has someone fucking cheating in every other game. Playing in Silver bracket and there is always someone who is 10-0 with 100% HS rate. There are also speedruns on youtube of people installing cheats and seeing how long it takes them to get banned, laughing about it the entire time as they ruin competitive matches for views. It's completely ridiculous and Valve does nothing about it.

For me, the "feel" actually got better, subtick is way better than 64 tickrate so I didn't have many issues with shots not counting like I had in CSGO, is still there since 128 tick is just better, but shots are easier to count in CS2, also I hated to have programs to increase brightness and color of CSGO, my monitor was too saturated, while in CS2 its not needed anymore since the game is brighter and colorful. I think we just need to adapt while valve fixes all other problems because CS2 has a lot haha.

At 01:29 there is misleading data. All the maps you have shown that had unbalanced matchmaking were Office. And we all know that Office is a map with few people playing (and when they play, they play in groups) so it is more likely to have unfair matches because if they were not unfair there would be none. I'm not saying that matchmakinbg in csgo was fair, but wasn't such a huge difference as it is now in cs2 (I think this will fix over time, but it is still a problem)

Anyone excusing the release saying CSGO was terrible on release are shilling for Valve. CS2 is 99.99% a copy and paste of CSGO. Just because they had to recode everything onto a new engine is not an excuse for such a terrible state of the game.
Add a Subscription would help. Make Botters Subscribe for ALL their accounts, And they will Charge for the levels they gained in Service Medals. Making it FAR MORE EXPENSIVE to purchase a Botted Account, with a Sub, That has the original owners Identity tied to it.

CS2 failed to meet the expectation after being hyped up so much since April. When the hype died, the game suffered
for me is the peeker advatange, when i die millisecond after seeing an enemy and anticheat that doesnt work... i see more cheaters in cs2 then i ever did on csgo... they should have just made cs2 open beta and left csgo where it was and when cs2 was in better place then released cs2.
