@@-Raven-_ well idk the details of the other related fics, from this one and Izuku said it seems AFO went to America for medical treatment, probably because of how badly injured he is in cannon, and during that time Inko divorced him and took solo custasy of Izuku, with AFO probably not able to show up to court due to his medical treatment and healing. Which is also probably why he was out of Izuku's life for so long, needing to heal properly and then have to try and find Izuku if Inko moved them, as without being marriage and have no custasy he wouldn't have access to the info

Honestly a better spin on AFO character than the Canon version of him, instead of just literally trying to destroy everything, he's actually a human rights activist and a very prominent one. Him actually feeling like he has a real true motive behind his actions, because that's something Canon AFO is honestly lacking.
