I remember in an older Deadlock vid, there was a discussion on how the Sensors were meant to give you that "breach stall" without having a Breach and well now they actually do their job. Deadlock on Bind is SO underrated (and her Wall can be a huge deterence to that Viper lurk) and I hope we get to see more Deadlock cause she synergizes well with so many agents who are good on that map (Brim, Raze, Gekko/Fade if Skye is gone from the map).

The timing of you making this video is actually insane, I’m a collegiate coach and just yesterday I was breaking down and coming to the conclusion that because of the nature of deadlock that Bind is probably the best map for her and now you’ve proven that for me. One thing that I noticed though while looking in customs that wasn’t covered here is another difference in the sage wall compared to deadlocks barrier, the fact that because the barrier mesh is throwable means you can throw it through the TPs. So you can have Skye and Deadlock start defending B long (very normal Skye info long) and if Skye gets no info at long Deadlock can very easily THROW HER BARRIER THROUGH TP TO BLOCK SHOWERS!
Been a deadlock enjoyer since day one and holy shit seeing the gravnet used to nullify skye dog in a pro setting is so gratifying. I've caught wingman and even thrash in it before and it's honestly so damn good.
Everyone knows how powerful Breach stun off contact is, so it only makes sense that Deadlock’s sonic sensors are effective when used similarly. That Brim on top of tube with a sensor in hookah ready to take a gunfight looked exactly as if he had a Breach waiting to stun for him
The round 4 slownade does have a particularly useful interaction, it slows and adds gravity to the applied targets, this halves distance from movement abilities like jett dash or raze satchel. In this case it stopped the Skye dog in it's tracks and the leap would have also been almost useless, and the dog cannot take off the net unlike a player. This also works against gekko ult and it basically neuters the distance of that ult too, gekko isn't that common but its kinda funny that deadlock had the upper hand against him because of the conflict the have with each other in lore.
@@TraeBaldwin her Sunset is broken as shit, even if Sunset meta is a bit of a wildcard Not yet convinced on her Breeze tho, but IMO her strongest position on Breeze after 8.01 is Halls/Stairs.
In my experience she's pretty fantastic on lotus as well especially when adopting the typical aggressive defence playstyle on that map. She can net for a rubble push just like you would with a fade seize and aggressively walling mound then tripping the door is super useful.
aww at the start here. there is a bug deploying the wall. If you imput any movement keys the wall will have 0 momentum if you let go of the keys it will got flying like it should. he could've saved his teammate there if he didn't get the bug.
deadlock could have a chance of being picked more depending on the attack meta, if teams are still going slow, lurking and such, I feel like cypher is still a better pick
I agree, especially because Cypher gives a lot of active info through the cam. However, barring any big change to other agents, Deadlock may become a standard pick on Bind given the map's design and current play patterns.
I used to main Deadlock for the whole act she came out and helped me improve from Gold 1 to Gold 3. Lowkey might pick her back up again especially on Icebox. Plat 3 rn.
This is one thing I am so glad to see that everyone seemed to overlook with her sonic sensor before. They need to be used closer to the player! Stop using them so far away from you like a Cypher trip!
for a QOL update for deadlock is either fix her ult not pulling the enemy around corners and leaving it stuck in the middle. or make the enemies health in the cocoon deteriorate overtime like when theyre standing on a molly
I play a lot of Deadlock on Bind and used to play her as an anti-flank with her sensors. But in higher elo, her sensors are easily avoided just by walking past it.
On defense, deadlock is undeniably good, but on attack, she's just basically "unfinished" initiator. U can see there AXL who have good usage of DL's ability on Def, got destroyed on Atk, because basically they played half an agent less on Atk. She goes from God on defense to Dog on attack
bro deadlock is actually strong the grav net with the buffs is a very unique ability, it applies a permanent slow! “not in game before!” And the synergy with the raze is crazy, i have gotten a 440 damage nade on A short bind. it is very strongb

I think any agents we get going forward are not going to easily slot into any traditional role. I made a video about it, specifically about Deadlock. When you're evaluating new agents coming out, the starting point is the role (i.e. duelist, initiator) and the abilities are the expression or the individual agent's take on the role. If you try spending time looking for how the abilities make the agent a part of the role then you're going to have a bad time. A sentinel's job is to lock down areas. How that gets accomplished is the flavor of each agent. I can't imagine how unbearably boring a designer's job would be if each sentinel HAD to have a trip or they were irrelevant. This community believes there is a set way to play and any deviation of that is bad. This game is going to be torture for that segment of the community.
i have played DL quite some time and i say she is really good in bind and ascent and especially in icebox, but i still thinks her ult is kinda weak and easy to counter
Her utility is very disruptive on retakes, if you manage to set the sonic sensors properly you can basically secure the post plant. Interesting to see teams picking her more.
Being in a sonic sensor is literally a death sentence when pushing. You can’t shoot in it or move quick enough away. I think if they added an initiator that has 3 info abilities being added to the game could break this character.
Deadlock rn is stupidly strong in a weird way. Every ability is extremely large and almost an impossible task to dodge in such a small area or choke point. Such a dumb way to make it work and it does. . "If the mechanic concept doesnt work, so we just give her the absolute power." Is this the future path of Riot dev team?

To me deadlock's utility is super oppressive when it is used well, the main issue was that when it is not used well it's basically useless. We will see if that ends up being the case, but at the very least I think even before her buffs she was not nearly as bad as people seem to think she is.
