Enjoyed the video and great production value. I'm a little curious as to the facts on Sushi Kashiba being the first sushi bar in Seattle. Maneki was founded in 1904, they had to shutter during the Japanese American internment during WWII and then reopened when the family was released. The location they have been operating out of since the late 1940s might not have a traditional style sushi bar, I suppose that is the distinction?
That’s a great question! Kashiba was not the first Sushi Bar, it opened in 2016. Shiro worked at Maneki when he first moved to Seattle, but it wasn’t until Shiro opened Nikko in 1970 that Seattle got its’ first Sushi Bar.
Favorite sushi in Seattle? For lunch, mine’s gotta be Moon Tree in Queen Anne.
Now, for dinner…👀
Beautiful Video, Kyle!
Thanks! Make your way over to Kashiba if you haven’t already!
