Pls spam the comments with suggestions for things to put in the background. (Anything except clock and gulkand flavoured banana wafers)
Kautuk pin your comment this will help more people too see it
Tell your wife to make Art for Second Hand Stories for wall background. Should be able to depict Second Hand idkh
Cardboard cutout of Vikram and Betaal ……
Ronaldo SUIII cutout in background
We need a clock
Aah what a blessing that Second Hand Stories' duration has increased to half an hour
I vividly remember the time when we were saying this same thing for XNG podcasts.
" Stop Reading This Focus On The Story ''.... Hilarious😆
Now I will straight look at that board every time I click play on a new episode😅
Q
For anyone who has played or seen the Uncharted 4 gameplay, hearing Henry Avery's name was pretty exciting. Great story as always!
Yup when he said Henry avery I legit smiled cz we've been searching for his treasure as Nathan drake, long before xD
Exactly as an uncharted fanboy the name bought a gasp and a smile 😂
“It’s a story about ripples turning into waves” BRILLIANTLY PUT
Great narration. Absolutely love this format.
P.S. I couldn't ignore the slip at 5:54 though (1963 instead of 1693)
Love second hand stories, just a suggestion, if putting in animations is too hard maybe try putting in few images every now and then
Like in this video maybe few images of some large ships from 1700's era when talking about the large ship
image of pirate ships, and image of Aurangzeb, a portrait of henry every
basically a few pictorial representations every now and then would make the video much better in my opinion
No pls
I prefer his raw storytelling where we can easily imagine and create the scene in our mind as he masterfully reads
Henry Avery is also mentioned a lot in the game Uncharted 4, where they find the hidden treasure after 300 years. It is a really good game of anyone is interested in action/adventure, it has got the best graphics so far in a videogame.
Everyone: He's such a great story teller
Me (a coder): There's a bug at 5:53
1963 yo
Yes.. Even I observed that..😂😂
these days i find myself looking forward to fridays, just to listen to a new story and learn another part of history, mystery and unbelievablestry. thank you, kautuk.
Agreed
Huh. Unchartered never mentioned all this🤔😆
Excellent Cowtuk!👌
It reminded me of Uncharted 4: A thief's End - Henry Avery and his treasure
Your every episode can itself be a movie, as you narrate things I imagine that narration in some form movie scenes which has the epic budget, you are awesome!!!
है ना!
Love the CR7 bobblehead ...and that caption "STOP READING THIS FOCUS ON THE STORY "
man people might not know, but a very popular game series, uncharted has one of it's parts Unchated 4 - a thief's end, on Henry Avery's treasure, where he went to a different island and made New Devon, in the memory of his hometown, a paradise for all his pirate friends, in which the protagonist Nathan Drake, finds the treasure on the Fancy mention here, it is a very good game, not just story wise, but it's direction and screenplay is also fantastic, I would highly recommend to play the game, or at least watch it on youtube.
So happy to see someone mentioning Uncharted 4 reference. 🍻
they're turning it into a movie too i think
So Henry every looting is the butterfly effect of imperialism in India.. that’s a great perspective!
If only my history teacher could have made a story this interesting I wouldn't have hated history subject throughout my school days❤️
Very interesting how 1 pirate invasion might have changed the course of history to lead British to invade India. This is the first story I listened on the channel. Might hang out here for a while. Amazing storytelling.
I mean, the British would probably have kept trying till they found another way in. It’s not like their conquest hinged solely on Every’s actions
So Henry bhau was born in 1659... but at 5:54 you said they set sail on Aug 1963.... ?? Henry Avery hain ya Marty Mcfly
And I thought I am processing figures wrong
1693
Second hand stories are lit. Love your story telling 🤩...
As an Uncharted series fan, this episode was even better!!
A literal Domino Effect XD
That was one hack of story.....specially when you just completed lecture series on modern history of India.
Happy KAUTUK’s Storytelling Appreciation Day! Also, great background this time. It’ll be interesting to see future episodes of the podcasts.
Got you 😂
Hello!
I'm in love with this series. Please do not stop this, it's mesmerizing. Btw if you don't know, Uncharted 4 game is based on the treasure of Henry Avery.
My mind is blown. WOW!! just WOW!!!.
I always hate History until it was a subject in school, and after that since I have watched few documentaries and movies my interest increases and now I love History. And yes Kautuk Never Disappoints!!!!!!!! Excellent stuff
Everything this interesting untill Someone starts testing you on the subject.
Soooo true
I must say, the story was VERY intriguing!! Loved it! Also, you mentioned Surat here a lot of times, at that time Surat was the largest port of India, hence most of the wealthy traders belonged to Surat, I am from Surat and would love to host you guys whenever you come here. There is a lot of history and monuments from that era, including British and Armenian Cemetery, where a lot of highly decorated officials from the East India Company are buried.
Dont ever stop this series Please!!!!!
I find reading boring but there is no other way to gain knowledge. I can certainly say, your podcast is the alternative to reading. I could imagine everything uttered by you! Thank you for such a blissful experience! Keep it up!!!!
One of the most interesting stories I've ever heard espeically when you consider the reprucussions Every's actions had on India.
Never liked history in general but this was real fun to listen❤
Fucking hell this was amazing. I knew about Henry Avery a little bit from One piece and a liitle bit of Pirate History. But My god I didn't know he had such a Impact in Indian politics at the time.
What an incredibly amazing storyteller you are!! Thank you, Kautak, for these amazing stories that you bring to us every week!! Your storytelling skills are so amazing that it immediately captivates me!! May you keep excelling in your life/career!! Bestest wishes!!🤗🤗🌟🌟✨✨
I thought I had heard Henry Avery's name .....it turns out he was the pirate in Uncharted 4
Amazing stuff! It's interesting to note that the Mughals had almost no sea power at all. The jacking off the Ganj i Sawai is clear testament to the fact. First of all it was a really slow moving merchant ship that was made into this vessel. Secondly the convoy of 25 ships that were supposed to accompany and protect these ships had moved ahead and left these 2 lumbering treasure ships behind. And did not pause ahead in a protective formation either. A move of colossal stupidity.
As Kautuk says the captain was an idiot with little to no knowledge about naval command. Finally three canon building that took place in Mughal era was all done for land battles, constructed in Jaipur so it's extremely likely they were meant for land use. Oh and by the way Aurangzeb's mother's ship had been ransacked by pirates before and she was responsible for having a large fleet ho this time round.
All in all a disaster from the word go.
This is now my most favourite second hand stories, hands down. History student here, so this is totally my jam. Plus ngl the treatment of historical material and characters was done extremely well, which tells me your research was spot on!!😍
Thanks Kautuk.. ❤️❤️
Hi Kautuk, great story as always. Please do a story on Hiroo Onoda. He was the last Japanese soldier to formally surrender on March 9th 1974 after Japan's defeat in second world war.
Listening to kautuk is blissful and a recommendation I would give is maybe how casino came into origin and how Vegas grew into prominence
It's a blast everytime you upload, I think no one will ever mind if the episodes get longer and longer, plus thumbnails are getting good day by day.
Beautifully narrated. Kautuk is such a blessing to modern day internet story telling.
another episode and another mind-blowing narration by Kautuk!!
Hey kautak awesome story man really really enjoyed it . Can we get more stories on Indian stuff , kudos the thing you are doing now love this
You are a legend Kautuk! Hats off to the research and comprehensive story telling. 👏👏
This is such an incredible story, and I absolutely love the way you've narrated it. There's a very real warmth and thrill in the way you speak that leaves me no doubt that you were just as amazed at this story when you came across it the very first time as I was when I heard you tell it. I've never sat by a fireside listening to tales like these, but after this I can very well imagine what that must feel like. There's something very deeply personal in your voice and narration that makes me feel like you'd narrate it with just as much wonder all over again even if was just to one person.
I'm going to send these to my father as well, and I really wished my grandfather was also around because these are the exact sort of stories he would've loved to listen to and then narrate again to enthralled children like me who could never have enough of these.
Thank you for this, truly. You're a great storyteller and I'm so happy that you found a platform to showcase it.
You have the PERFECT storyteller's Voice..I feel like listening to these amazing new stories anytime now!...Love your Work. all the very best from a big fan of yours!! Wish to listen more such beautiful stories in Future!!
Knew this story before but still enjoyed the narration. Thanks Kautuk.
Maharashtra has lot of stories Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj ones are quite interesting escape from agra, surat loot TWICE, father of indian navy , infiltrating station where a mughal sardar or auragzeb uncle was stationed with around 50 thousands or more soldiers where present and in that chaos Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj himself with some of his men finding and chopping of two fingers of shaistkhan are some amazing task and stories you could read it for yourself reading on channel could create a lot of drawback or controversy but you should definitely read them for yourself
Hey Kautuk! Enjoying these stories a lot. And also the words you are using. This is probably the first time ever I have made my presence felt in a UA-cam comment section.
Im from Surat... And its nice to hear your city's name in such interesting stories

Omg Henry Avery is from Uncharted 4!!
Kautuk is killing it with his story telling skills. Pata hi nahin chalta by the time it comes to the end. I'm sure you know this but Tanmay Bhat mentioned about your channel on Chalchitra talks and it must have helped in the growth. I toh want anyone and everyone to watch this and make them understand how precise and concise you tell the stories without compromising on the interest value. Keep this coming Kautuk. :)
Got hooked to your series after a friend sent over the life of pi story. Amazing stories and love the way you tell it. Don’t bother with the background, just your normal living room in the background is amazing, its like friend telling a story!
Lowkey upset about why in the world did that story end! Hands-down, the absolute BEST storyteller!
Powerful narration , intriguing story ❤️
Please put a clock above the printed frame , next to the Ronaldo bobble head .
