This is very enjoyable drama. Kyoko Fukada and her L family are just so colorful and their dancing changes into their thief clothes are kawaii! The police family play a very straitlaced "straight man" for the more exuberant characters. Speaking of exuberance, the childhood friend of Hana, played by Yusuke Onuki, is about as enjoyably over-the-top as you can get. He (and Fukada) have excellent singing voices. There is a lot of silliness, but enough action and drama to keep it from floating away like sea froth.
Aww, Kyoko Fukada, my second favorite Japanese actress (after Yui Aragaki 😁). I love her in the mini series, "Friends" with Won Bin. I wish Asiancrush would feature "Friends", the first drama collaboration between a Japanese and a South Korean TV stations to produce that series.
Coming from a traditional Asian family, I can definitely understand where they are coming from in this film. However, I do want to say at the end of the day, ultimately we are the ones that are living our own lives, not our parents. We can definitely consider what our parents' opinions are, but if we exchange our own happiness just to cater to some traditional family or individual belief, then we need to reevaluate our own morals and decisions in life. To judge someone based on their social background or social status, and to exclude anyone and anything until they fit a specific type of category, that is nothing but ignorance, immaturity, and shallowness. Just because something in the past have happened that were related to a particular situation, it does not mean that same event should apply to the person we are with right now because that person has nothing to do with our past and we should focus on building a new future with our current partner. That's what it means to move forward with maturity and grow together. In the end, we should trust our own decision and judgement because only ourselves know where our own heart lies. If Hana's family comes from a thief background, Hana doesn't agree with their way of lifestyle nor is she involved with what they do. That's the important thing. People can always start now and change for the better of tomorrow. That's why such thing as forgiveness and second chance exist. As long as both people are willing to make adjustment and compromise, then honestly there should be nothing holding them back. Remember that we are the ones that are ultimately going to live in our own lives, not anyone else.
Uh but... Hana can never introduce her parents. Unless you want either the parents to lie about their occupations or the guy to go against his own occupation and not arrest the parents. Living their own lives and making their own decisions is fine and all, but there's still a limit to that. Especially if their circumstances clash.
Omg I didn’t expect the family to also be cops!!! marrying cops for generations? Then this will be the first generation where they marry into the criminal side, if they do end up being married in the end???
OK now I'm interested. I didn't finish watching the entire video because I'm getting interested. Will watch the movie. Thanks, AsianCrush. Hana looks like Yui Hatano (younger version though) too. Update: I found it. And it's not a movie. It's a series.
