    That last dish, i am familiar with, since their are numerous indo-pak eateries here; even in far west suburbs of Chicago. That i could eat 3 - 4 times per week ! I like the idea of having a variety of "oil fried" foods! Please give greetings to your wife, and son, good to see them. Good-day🙋

    G’day Darren, thank you for another appetising video. I loved all the food you showed us from your local market but my favourite would have to be the fried stuff. 👀 yummy. So much variety of it too. Also the pork satay sticks looked very delicious as well. It won’t be long now till my adventure begins in Thailand. A big cheers and thumbs up 👍 from Perth Australia. PS You did well not to stop and grab a Durian in this video. You could see temptation in your eyes. Well done Haha. Durians are in season woohoo. 👌😊🙏

      @darrenb3  6 років тому

      Hahaha, yes, I do like durian 😋
      The fried stuff is very yummy, the shops at that market have particularly good stuff too. And yes, pork satays are pretty hard to beat! I hope all is well in Perth mate and hope the time till you're back here passes quickly ;)

    Everything looked yummy. I wouldn't get too far past the tempura table ROFL, but even those dainty fried crispy fish looked delish. Like eating fishy tater chips? ha ha And Ananda had his famous orange slushy. I swear when we go to the fair I'm going to fashion myself a bag to carry my drink!!!!! (a plastic grocery bag w/handles and some duct tape) Aorn looks like she put on a pound or two and she is looking great/healthier. Such a sweet smile. Thanks Aorn and Darren. Another winner!

    • @darrenb3

      I don't know how to move pics to You Tube or Twitter LOL...I would just take a plastic grocery bag with handles, cut off the bottom and duct tape it and the handles would be sort of like the Thai clear drink holders....?

    Very yummy food today. I think I can try all of them, but may not the last one, think to spicy for me...
    Aorn looked Very pretty today, nice Swedish backpack 555.
    I want to try so many think, but I'm afraid I will not like and I hate waste food.
    Is there a way to ask for just a very small amount of food to taste? If a vendor have say 5 different items and I like to try everyone??
    It's ok for me to pay for a full bag, but I hate waste food if I don't like it...

    Been meaning to ask for some time. Have you ever eaten som tum with salted crab? Is it on one of your videos.

    • @darrenb3
      @darrenb3  6 років тому

      Yes, I've eaten it probably hundreds of times, I eat it quite regularly. There's a video where we ate it here: ua-cam.com/video/tulacRTPQqs/v-deo.html

    • @laserguy3478
      @laserguy3478 6 років тому

      Thanks for the link. I'd always wondered about eating the crabs. Am I correct in that the shells are very soft? Seems like it would be a hazard to eat whole if shells were hard like larger crabs. I've had the the regular som tum here at local Thai restaurant but never with the crabs as they aren't available here in the US where I live.

    • @darrenb3
      @darrenb3  6 років тому

      No, the shells are hard, you can't swallow them, but they do have some tasty meat inside if you break them open. Yes, I think those crabs are probably just here in SE Asia.

    I'd eat the fish one. But I don't know if I'd eat the squid. I would @ least try it. I know I couldn't eat those little fishy looking @ me. There looked like they had a lot of salt on them. After I would swell like a little dough girl... lol... & that's not good for my health. Unless they use sea salt then I could indulge. Sea salt don't make you swell like regular salt does. When I switched to sea salt I quite swelling from salt alone.
    I cooked walleye the other day & did a flour, egg, panko crust & it was delicious. Very light batter & wasn't heavy on your belly after eating. Well be using that for now on, on my fish. My husband I usually the one who cooks the fish, he's a wonderful cook, but I wanted to try that combo, seen it on UA-cam, & he even liked it. I'll be doing that one always on the fish now. If he will ever catch any fish when he goes fishing. He's been 4 times this week & hasn't brought 1 keeper home. I'm going to have to ground him from fishing or go with him to show him how to bring them in. I just yell HERE FISHY, FISHY, FISHY, FISHY FISHY & the next thing I know I've got a keeper. Several people has witnessed this. I'm telling you the truth. True stories by Chris..... sounds like a good book..... lol....
    Well loved the video & thank you for not teasing me with seafood.
    Take care, Chris from Missouri

    • @darrenb3
      @darrenb3  6 років тому +1

      Hahaha, it sounds like your husband should leave the fishing to you Chris ... leave him home in the kitchen :D. "True Stories by Chris", does sound like a good read, you can put me down for a copy when it's published.
      I don't know how they dry those fish before they are fried, but some of them are not at all salty from some shops, I do like them with a bit of saltiness though.Thanks for watching and commenting, I hope all is well in Missouri!

    • @stilcrazychris
      @stilcrazychris 6 років тому +1

      darrenb3 this is another true story....
      We just started dating & he wanted to take me fishing. So we went & he hands me this fishing pole, remind you I was raised on the lake from to age of 2 yrs old, & it's a bass fishing pole that is called a bait caster. If you dont put the right amount of tension with your thumb on your line it will back lash & you end up with this bird nest & you might as well cut your line out past all those knots. He said DO YOU THINK YOU CAN THROW THIS? I said I'll try, but don't hold your breath hope I don't back lash it all up. Little did he know... lol... I threw it right between these two trees & caught the 1st keeper of the night. He said DAMN YOU THROUGH THAT THING BETTER THEN I DO.... WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME YOU COULD CAST ONE OF THOSE. I said I brought 3 of them, why would I bring them if I didn't know how to cast them! He said your right & I wasn't thinking. I said jokes on your for assuming that a girl can't fish with a baitcaster.... I love telling that story to this date. Hope you enjoyed it.
      Chris
      P.S. we do have his & her fishing boats too.

    • @darrenb3
      @darrenb3  6 років тому +1

      Ahahaha. I did enjoy that story, thanks Chris. It sounds like yours would definitely be the boat I'd want to go fishing on, not your husbands ;)
      I hope you both have a great weekend.

    • @stilcrazychris
      @stilcrazychris 6 років тому +1

      darrenb3 yes we would be back before him after we went fishing, swimming, & tubing. My boats the fast one.
      We be back so fast we would cook the chicken gizzards & fried green tomatoes too! No livers are a loud in camp unless your going cat fishing that night. Them things stink........... Well you have a great weekend.
      Thanks for all you do,
      Chris from Missouri

    Looks tasty, but unhealthy because they’re fried, then salted, then some dipping sauce loaded with msg or preservatives, not good for health, that frying oil was dark brown when your camera pointed at it
