This type of lectures you giving for free is worth millions dollars, great work. COULD YOU ALSO PLEASE INCREASE THE PIXEL OF THE VIDEO IT IS VERY LOW AND WE ARE MISSING OUT VALUABLE CONTENTS VISUALLY. THANKS
Vaihamisa Mumbuu thanks for the kind comment! It is posted in 1920x1080 resolution, which is the resolution of my monitor I’m recording on. If it’s blurry on your end maybe double check the playback settings? In some countries I know google may reduce quality of playback as well automatically, so perhaps this is the issue. Hopefully you can find the option to increase to 1080!
two things I miss in archicad: temporary quotas, that is, automatic measurement of each structure; and multiple perspectives on a single screen that revit has. archicad should incorporate these features to be much more powerful. everyone asks for changes like that. and the part dp mep and the calculations need to be enriched too. please, make archicad better.. Fix all bugs too!
The new MEP routing tools have changed a lot! In some ways for the better, and in other ways, not so much... I've been working with them and have a tutorial in the works demonstrating the new features, and also comparing the older tools. This tutorial will hopefully live on for users AC26 and prior, and the training course will as well:)
Sir, may I ask. how do i create a basic MEP profile but there is also a architectural basic profile in one window. Like in 3:54 or contraBIM profile. :)
Hi Wisam. There is a basic MEP Engineering profile default in AC24, but I always recommend going through and customizing your own working environment and profile, so you have all the right tools and functions exactly where you want them!
Thank you teacher, you made me learn something that I didn't know before , thank you very much, for me to be your student how much am I supposed to paid, because I want to learn M.e.p in American standard I'm in Africa Kenya, is it possible for me to learn it??
Length of the pipe can be measured from the MEP Object properties. Volume would have to be a calculated parameter either in the GDL or Properties. Thanks for the question!
So, if you have an existing model, with MEP elements, from the the add-on, included. Does Archicad 24 recognise these elements as MEP elements, within the new library?
Yes I've had a 100% migration rate so far to the MEP Library 24. That said, I believe every file has been from v23, so older versions maybe not. Deleting 23 and replacing with 24 has worked perfectly so far. Thanks for the question!
Great question! You have to go into the mep object parameters and add the pipe length to your schedule. I think they renamed this in more recent versions, but there is an mep length parameter that works for most mep objects. Find the pipe object in your mep library folder, then search for that parameter and you’ll be able to list the length.
MEP routing tool symbol to click on is not shown on the top toolbar of my Archicad 27 as shown on this video. Is there another way to access this tool dialogue box? Also, when I click on a pipe hot spot there is not option to stretch the pipe.
Hello! Great question. There is no MEP Routing Tool anymore, as was previously included in v26 and prior. The Routing is now built into the pipe, duct, and cabling tools. Pretty much all the MEP design tools have been retooled, for better and for worse. I'd recommend to get familiar with the Pipe Routing Tool, which now includes subcomponents for Pipe, Elbows and Transitions... I'm due for putting out a video on all these new features, the good, bad and ugly:)
Thank you. I did discover that if I run piping in V-27 I can stretch as I was able to do in V-24. Unfortunately most of my MEP pipe work will need to be redone/traced over as hot spots do not active the stretch option in the pop out toobox. Not sure if this is an oversight by Graphisoft or an issue with my file. Sadly hours of work done the drain. @@CONTRABIM
Not redraw, but if you have difficult conditions where you want to pre-coordinate, then you have the tools to do so! If you can get a 3d model from your engineers, even better
Thanks for the comment. I'll do some structural modeling and documentation videos in the coming weeks. Which type of structures are you most interested in? Concrete? Steel? Masonry? Wood or Metal Frame?
@@CONTRABIM thanks so much for the reply. Concrete structures. Like use a one storey building to do Structural Drawings for us please indicating how to detail the columns, stairs, beams, slabs and etc....Thanks
Hi, thanks for the question! It's possible by creating a 3d document view of the isolated MEP system, so you can label and annotate elements with vector based resolution.
Hi, I'm not John but I might be able to answer your question. So the MEP modeler is built in for AC24. For any earlier Archicad version, you'll need a license separately which can be purchased at your local reseller I suppose. So I suggest contacting your local Graphisoft distributor and ask them about the details.
Hi There! Sorry for the late reply here. So in version 20, Rozsomak002 is right and there's a seperate license and install to add the MEP Modeler tools. I think it costs maybe $300 or so... But you can...install the MEP Modeler add-on, and use the library parts without the license. A bit of a work around and limited functionality but still can work.
Thanks Edson for the question! The course will go live August 1st, and will be available forever:) Right now is the pre-sale special make sure to check it out to save 25%!
can it simulate the flow rate of my piping and let me know that the faucet on the third floor is getting very low flowrate and i need to rethink my plumbing.
At this time, the MEP Tools in Archicad do not include any calculation or simulation of systems. That said, you can always create custom properties and expressions to do some partial calculations which can help get you closer to the right answers. Hopefully in the future they can some additional functionality and re-build the tool with a "system" approach!
Great, but it seems that they improve the tool only for 3D geometry. A mep modeler start from Systems and Calculation. How can I switch different scale of the mep project to control the project from system to every equipment? how can I extract the system scheme?
Thanks Mauro for the comment! Yes I've conveyed my wishes to GRAPHISOFT to rebuild this tool focusing on the underlying system first into what I would call a system line first, and then allow the 3d geometry to be populated. Hopefully in future versions this will be made available with improved calculation options. The MEP Systems manager is where you can adjust the different systems available, and if you want to extract the different settings you can do so from within the Attribute Manager!
Sure thing! Thanks for the comment. I was checking out the new Structural Analysis mode yesterday, but will take a few more days before I put a video out on it! Thanks!
MEP modeling is pretty worthless. Maybe it will be cool to add some air vents to my interiors or some ductwork but otherwise I use archicad for architecture not MEPicad. Thanks for the tutorial and you have great videos. They should upgraded doors or windows so you don’t have to instantly buy another plugin. Tile work would of also been a welcome feature.
Glad you like the videos! That's great you use Archicad for Architecture, and if that's as far as you need to take your models then awesome. But from my perspective, and my background, Archicad has never been for Architecture, it's always been a tool to help coordinate design, find the issues quantify, estimate, and prepare for constuction. It's great there's so many different uses for the same platform, to each their own!
@@Mat74R Perhaps my statement wasn't clear. Of course Archicad is used for Architecture, and it's great at it! I'm not an Architect though, and I've always used it for everything else coming from the commercial construction side of the business!
