I remember years ago I was on a fás course down in shannon and there was a young buck from mayo in the class, no older than myself. Jaysus he dressed and carried himself like the Shlug, same capeen and leather jacket. He went for pints in the evening in the local boozer with the auld fellas drinking pints of "Special" which turned out to be Smithwicks with a Guinness top. He had to educate the barman on how to do it an all. Fast forward a year later and we are on another course up in Sligo so we were in contact before we started. I was driving so he said to pick him up on the Sunday night. I'll never forget the directions, "go up pasht Cashlebar and you'll come to a place call Baaall, I'll be outside the burnt out pub at the side of the road". And there he was, same leather jacket, same cap and a suitcase. I can't remember his name though. Lovely fella but as they used to say in Sligo "He was some buff"
