I would absolutely LOVE to see a movie or a series based on her family stories. I think most people would. I hope they do eventually do something like that ❤
I grew up in Muscatine, Iowa. My dad would tell me about a restaurant that was his hangout, if he was in town, there was a red rose in the window. Today there is a restaurant there called Capones.
I don't ever glorify or justify criminality of any kind, but, I, also, come from a "connected" family about which I have very fond, loving memories. This was on my mother's side. My own parents were not adequate as parents due to addiction and genetic disorders, and thanks to my extended maternal family, I was able to grow up with a semblance of stability, affection, continuity and love. There are many sides to people, I've learned, and thank God for them! Something kind of related, when I lived in North Dakota and told people I was Sicilian, many people remarked, "Oh, did you know that Al Capone used to live here?" Funny!
right. Humans are not one dimension, we all have different sides that we show to different people. Some have very bad sides like my birth father, or her Grandfather. Some never learn just how bad a relative was!
She was 3 years old when Al Capone died. In other words, what she is sharing is what older family members said about Al Capone and the home life. I accept her "truth" while considering the limitations of it.
Thats how it was back then. Business vs Family . Work life stayed at work. If you could call it work. Much like the Kennedy's and prohibition, where do you think the money and power came from. Wish I has a 5th of that kind of cash.
He was worth $100 million 1.5 billion in today’s time. I’m sure his money helped his family live a good life. They probably rationalized his behavior. Money makes a difference
Not thinking that Al Capone was a saint,he did murdered many enemies.what worries me is the possibility of exaggerated lies .I know it happens ,I'm a first generation cuban american who grew up in a marginal neighborhood .I experienced a few things in my life.

@@ridingtheroad185 my father was abhorrent. His side of the family, not the Sicilian, were seriously wacko as people.
Thank You MM ✨ and Diane ✨

Bringing some dignity to an otherwise undignified story.

Capone ordered around 200 murders, women rationalize everything.
