Hoping for Roger so much. 2 tennis greats going to war for the first time in a slam final in years brings back great memories. Roger doesn’t have anything to lose this time. Novak fears Roger in the way he doesn't fear Rafa. This Wimbledon reminds me of Australia 2017. Roger beats Nishikori, and Wawrinka in 5 sets, and then Rafa in 5 sets. This year, Nishikori in 4, Rafa in 4, so I am predicting Fed to win in 4, or 3.

Strangely, or as normal, while Fed faced stiffer competition, he has still spent less time on court. Of course the early matches don't matter, it is how much energy has been expended in the semi and quarter. Ya, maybe Novak is fresher, but then this is Fed 3.0. the Fed post 2016.

Roger needs a fast start and to get the crowd going. Djokovic is about efficiency and low error count but he gets irked that Roger is the crowd's favourite. It's artistry vs machinery. I really hope artistry is the winner, but it will be very tough.

Being an avid Federer fan, its hard for me to accept as well that Federer goes into the match as underdog but maybe that Nadal victory fires roger enough to take the game to Djokovic. However, realistically Roger at 38 yrs age against prime Djokovic is a tough tough ask but I am sure if anyone can pull off an upset then its roger.

Roger had a more testing semis than djoko. I think Roger's backhand is so offensive now, it will blow djoko far wide, creating space for that 1-2 punch. I think he'll try that sneak attack shot too and more serve volley. Federer in 5.

The match isn't just determined by what Fed can do. We've seen Fed play amazing in slams before only to be taken apart by Djokovic.

Novak has never beaten Roger when Roger has served at above 66% first serves. Roger will serve close to 70% first serves in. Novak's second serve is vulnerable these days. It breaks down. I expect Roger to exploit this, and get in a SABR or two in in the match.

Finally a decent fact ..I also noticed that againts Rafa in 2nd set when Fed had a very bad service.
Nothing wrong with thinking Federer can win, as he is a legendary player.
However those stats are wrong. According to official ATP site, federer served at above 66% first serves in in both his previous defeats to Djokovic at Wimbledon. And also their last encounter in Paris Indoors. There are plenty of other examples too.
However, should be a fantastic match.

Nahhh, Djokovic looked more solid cause his "opponents" allow him to. I remember back then in Federer haydays that he looked so dominant, so convincing the whole tournament, makes him favourite in finals until he faced Nadal, and then can't play well as before, although I think its more of the mental side of Roger rather than his abilities to play Rafa. The point is, this match will be like that, Djokovic looked more solid but because his opponents are way more easier, wait till he faced Federer and we will see how he really play. It will be 5 sets and won't be suprise if Federer take this at 4 just like against Nadal.

Predicting the end of his dominance, the end of his winning majors, the end of his career again and again and every time he has proved them wrong. According to the oddsmakers I'm very likely going to own a TV with a big shoe hole in it by Sunday afternoon. but I believe Fed can do this if he wins the first set, keeps his 1st serve % higher than 70 (crucial) and converts break point chances.

Again guys!!! I ll repeat. And I know you have djokovic as the favourite and I might agree with you on it. But the Roger of 2014-15 and the Roger of 2019(almost a 90% of 2017 to me ) are different in temperament ,style of play and the Backhand!! especially. Federer of 2014-15 took apart everyone especially with his newly found 97 inch racket powerful serve only for Novak to exploit his backhand given his return of serve masterclass. Roger knew it very well too ofcourse and you almost saw him rush through things (like his serve + net play and even sabr for that matter) - see wimbledon and US open 2015 as classic examples . It was frustrating as a fed fan to see how many times Roger failed on the backhand side and how inferior it was in comparison to the rest of his game. Not that I am taking away anything from the genius that Novak is with his depth and his specialty of making the opponents look bad but the post 2017 Roger is different, his backhand matches his forehand would you believe!! aiding him to play aplomb and calm his baseline game and his rivalry with Rafa since is an amazing 6-1, and again this match with Rafa has a never seen before statistic to it? - Roger dominaing the longer points against rafa??, its unheard of!!!
Now come back to 2018 barring Cincinnati an underconfident Roger played a pretty solid match in Bercy against a supreme Novak in 3 tight sets - reason ? his backhand aiding more belief, and that translated another static of him not being broken by the best returner ever in the game for the whole match. Even a kid can point out that Federer of wimbledon '19 is a lot of confidemt that what he was in bercy last year that plus the grass surface comes in to play (I see its slow but the low bounce kinda makes up for it)
Sorry for my long analysis but this match looks like a lot closer than 2014-15 one and not really a simple affair.

I have to agree Djokovic is the favorite to win the final. Having said that if Federer serves well and do not get too tight there is a good chance but only if Djokovic does not play his best. I personally think that Djokovic is more consistent and mentally stronger so it will be a huge challenge for Federer to beat Djokovic in a Grand Slam final.
If Novak plays like in the semi's against Bautista Agut, Roger will win. If he plays like in the rounds before, he will win.

Shout out to Andy Murray....in terms of achievements yes he is way behind the big three but to be no 4 to three of the best players to ever play the sport is not to be sniffed at....I think without doubt Andy is the best of the rest when you stack up his achievements against the rest of the field....for years GB had nothing to shout about in tennis...I remember the days when Jeremy bates nearly getting to qtr finals was glorious...Tim Herman built on that with six semi finals and now we have Andy Murray. ..hopefully there is an up and coming young British player , maybe not even born, who will take it one step further and outshine everyone,,,who knows what the game will look like In 20 years....

Its true, Novak is now 32, and has slowed down. Further, Novak seems to lose concentration during matches. It happens with age.

Novak has been living in the weak era the last 8 to 10 or 11 years. You can't compare Nishikori, Dimitrov, Cilic, Berdych, Tsonga, with Sampras, Agassi, Roddick, Hewitt, Saffin. Federer beat these in slams, many times apart from Sampras, whom he beat at Wimbledon when Sampras was 29. We have been living in the weak era. How else do you explain that a 33, 34, 35, 36, 37 year old Federer is still Novak's biggest challenge and threat. We are in the weak era, and when Federer wins tomorrow, everybody will know.
Prediction: Djokovic will win in 4 sets tomorrow over Federer
