I just finished this book and I was so surprised with how much I loved it! I’m personally not a fan of Logic, I actually wasn’t aware he was the author until about halfway through. I really only picked it up because the font is the Stranger Things font which caught my eye lol! I was I hadn’t read so many reviews because they all compared this to a specific movie which I actually thought was a major spoiler. Overall I loved it and the story stuck with me for multiple days after I finished it.
That’s awesome! I’m glad you enjoyed the read, thats all that matters really. I did notice after the fact that a lot of the comparisons give away things that happen in the book. Thats funny you went into it not recognizing the author, probably makes it easier to judge it more objectively I imagine then

I honestly thought it was a great novel and a great soundtrack overall. I actually read the book all the way through in one sitting on my day off work the weekend after if dropped, I just couldn’t put it down. I also had the album on repeat the entire time I was doing so, and I had some trouble finding a connection through the lyrics as well. It was actually the first book I’ve ever finished, I’ve tried reading novels here and there, but I for some reason couldn’t find that spark to keep going.. That all changed when I picked up “Supermarket”. I feel it’s mainly because I’m actually a huge fan of Logic and I already have a connection with him through his music so I figured I’d probably have one through an actual story of his. And yeah, maybe the cursing is a bit too much for some people, but with him and I coming from a similar world of sort really brought just a bit more life to the story for me. I don’t know, just thought I’d share that with all of you.
Anyways, great review on both the album and the novel itself. I’ll most definitely be subscribing.

I can't comment on the music, not my style. I do however, agree that artists should be able to stretch themselves and try new styles. I think in the long run they become better artists because of the stretch. I really liked your observation about the swearing. The only time I like swearing in a book is when it is tied to a character. I just finished a book that was like that. 1 or 2 characters swore and it fit their personality, while everyone else was clean.

I don't listen to the artist, but I like the way he's tried to do a lot with this book, especially the music on the audio book, I think that's pretty cool! If I had more of an interest in him and the story specifically I reckon that would actually be something I'd enjoy
I really liked the music on the audiobook too! I hope other writers start including things like that in their audiobooks

3:06 is meeee. its the very first book i’ve read, my girlfriend got it for me since she knew how much i loved Logic. and it was so good i was honestly so hooked

I like hearing what you did and didnt like about the book and how you appreciate others may enjoy it. I dont think I will be picking it up as I would want to read something new or something well done and this might fit the bill from the satirical aspect but not one I am keen to add to an evergrowing tbr. Would love to hear more of your thoughts on individual books
PS I saw this book on a booktubers tbr and knew nothing about it and I dont know Logik well but tend to be skeptical when artists cross media. Writing stories is hard, music is hard, acting is hard, and I cant think of someone who is good at more than one.

I agree if you already have a long tbr just skip this one. I wouldn’t personally recommend it to anyone. I had higher hopes for this because some of Logic’s albums have a storylike quality to them but yeah he would probably be better off just sticking to music lol
Great honest review to the point, I haven’t read the book yet but im def gonna check it out, I’m a logic fan and I agree I only liked maybe 5 songs . My favorites are bohemian trapsody and Delorean because vibes lol.

I definitely enjoyed the audiobook better. It was well produced. I enjoyed the points in your review. I think it could work better as a movie
I agree a movie of this I would watch and it was a great audiobook production wise
It's funny, the whole time I was thinking "this would work a lot better as an audiobook" than to read, but I still greatly enjoyed it!
I personally didn't enjoy the book, but I really enjoy Logic'a music. I know Logic didn't finish high school so maybeeee that's why this book suffered from so many grammatical errors. I'm not sure. The plot was ok, very basic, but it's not what made me struggle to read it. It really felt like a high schoolers fanfiction with a lot of caps, commas, endless fragments, and things that writers normally don't do. For example, me literally reading "hahaha" In a novel was so funny to me because I rarely see that. It was just an ok book that could been readable for a younger, preteen audience if the plot was lighter.
A high schooler can probably write a book like that

I wasn't aware that Logic hadn't finished high school, interesting to know. I agree if it was edited a little differently it probably would have made a better book for a younger audience. Thanks for the insights!!

This one...yikes. Was considering posting a review. Probably the worst book that I read in the past year. I agree that it inspired people the read who wouldn’t usually and it was smart to release on paperback. The sad part is that it wont deliver much.
