- This is the condensed version of Charlie's stream against Promised Consort Radahn in the new elden ring dlc. I included his key runs and all of his best / funniest reactions from the stream. I really enjoyed it so if you like this video check out some of his streams.

There are openings and punishes, but you have to know how to precisely dodge in specific directions. This boss reminds me a LOT of the Kingdom Hearts 3 remind data bosses and Yozora designs that require you to be on it and truly get good where spamming attack and dodging willy nilly in any direction won't get you very far.
@@davidrajaruzicka5546 very true and those bosses are also quite more harder than souls bosses thats for sure, especially yozora, if promised consort radahn was this insane of a boss, yozora takes that and ups it even more.
I also think of him as a KH boss, but sora is faster than my souls guy so it doesn't feel as bad
@azure4622 One thing that bothers me is the souls' community acts all big and tough over these bosses, which are tough, but there are much harder games out there like KH on critical mode and they do the whole "git gud" to people left and right, yet would call games like KH as totally unfair or trash because it's "too hard".

This is the only boss in the DLC that lives up to the complaints people had about the DLC being too hard

@jameslough6329 It's tough, but not as rough as critical mode kingdom hearts 3 remind fights. That experience helped me SO much in this fight against radahn/Miquella due to their fast-paced, very precise combat/counters/openings on the bosses that have a mixture of unblockable attacks in the middle of combos and attacks you can't dodge, but have to block.

@jameslough6329 No, because there are hitless wins against Rahdan/Miquella. So there are ways to evade every attack, but in some cases, a shield is a lot more viable than dodging, as some dodging windows are extremely tight

this boss is the reason why we don't EVER and won't ever complain about fighting bosses past they're prime
What's crazy is that this still isn't prime Radahn. The swords he uses here are the one's he used in his youth, before he conquered the stars while his gravity magic is pretty basic, and before having his Great Rune.
We still haven't fought Great Rune General Radahn, Scourge of The Stars pre rot.

There are quite a few bosses you fight in their prime in From games. None of them sucked like this one.

Charlie only having +10 flasks and wearing the divine beast head which further decreases healing from flasks is giving me conniptions
He was aware of the debuff the mask gave him, he just didn’t care lol, said the drip mattered more which I respect
Ngl… I had +8 on flasks and didn’t know until after that it went higher… it took me over 100 attempts and it pains me knowing the suffering could have ended so much sooner 😂

Gotta hand it to him, Charlie is a very competent souls player with good patience and reaction times, even after speed running this game for months I still just slammed my head against the Radahn wall until I won lmao
I’m no speedrunner, but I’m very familiar with the souls series and this is the only boss I threw my hands in the air and looked online for cheese. The small windows for attack would be fine if not for the bullshit hitboxes and AOE spam…. wouldn’t be surprised if they nerfed/fixed him in at least one of those aspects. Hardest boss in the series and not for good reasons.
@@TakeJanner yeah no, between undodgeable attacks, beams of light blocking the screen and ridiculous hit boxes this was definitely the challenge I was anticipating, just not the one I wanted
For anyone struggling with this boss like here, literally just tank the light clones. They do barely any damage and trying to dodge them only winds up getting you hit by the part of the combo that does hurt.
I think the stun lock and the following attack pose a bit of a problem to that strategy there.

@@toddmorningstar4206 u don't need to eat most of them. I don't really like that advice because it isn't universal across all builds and strategies. The most common clone attacks can be beaten by simply dodging/sprinting to the side, or by sprinting in the opposite direction of radahn. Some of them only even require a single dodge, or even just miss u standing still long as you're close to him. They're definitely the most challenging part of the fight so don't feel bad about getting hit but they're nowhere near as unintuitive as waterfowl.
I either distanced myself from it far enough that they missed, or I just blocked with my weapon.
@@geld1620 my only piece of armor is a dress and I don’t use a shield, so I’m not really sure what build wouldn’t be able to replicate it. Obviously if you can get lucky and outrun it that’s great, but committing to dodging every single clone only got me hit by the real one more often.

kinda funny how radahn fans will go to any length to say he's stronger than he is. this is already him at his max power- and miquella only enchances him. this guy with miquella would wipe regular old 'prime radahn' off the map. the only thing capable of killing them is the tarnished. how much more power do you want radahn to have? him being any stronger than this would literally break the lore lol

Some tips ive figured out
The spam attack from the air can be sidestepped just make sure u dodge the 5th one.
The holy magic after effect from attacks wont hit you if youre in his face(or nuts),
the long range beam dash wont hit you if youre in his face
the giant aoe can be ran from, the nuke can be ran from too
all of his non slam or elemental attacks can be parried and will cancel the holy after effect.
The meteorite with the spam after effect can be ran from with a last second side jump and the spam afterwords can be ran from or side stepped.
The ONLY attack that is complete utter horseshit imo is the 3 hit combo that ends in a double cross slash, that cant be dodge realiably
Boss is hard af and getting flashbanged is aids but its dooable. Also bleed and parrying destroys him

I mean it’s a 40 dollar dlc being bought by hundreds of thousands of players, referencing two people doesn’t add up to much, there are serious issues with the fight but flashing lights isn’t one of them look at Gael people love him, the 3 hit x-slash on the other hand needs re-worked and like every other ER boss giving PCR similar looking attack strings while I’m playing with miquellas hair in my face isn’t all that great. I’m not trying to rant, but when this might literally be the capstone boss of their biggest souls game yet they really dropped the ball and it just aches to see it. Anyways midra my dlc goat
If you don't want to do status buildups then try a pierce weapon with holy damage. 1st phase weakness to holy, 2nd phase weakness to pierce.

I once got greedy and tried to hit the boss once after an 8 hit combo, I still feel bad about it
Radahn when at 10% of prime Godefroy's Strength:
nah godfrey was at peak strength when we fought him. Radahn is lore accurately more powerful. He just admired Godfrey, but Radahn is definitely stronger
we know this because marika banished godfrey and told him to get better. The Demi-gods were already outclassing Godfrey himself

Godfrey isn’t at his strongest when we fight him. He’s been training, but he’s still just a guy. When he was Elden Lord he has the full power of the Elden Ring at his disposal, so the power that turns Morgott from a husk into the demigod we fight x9. And even then, Godfrey shuddered at the very thought of facing Godefroy
Radahn is a showcase example of why Fromsoft doesnt normally let us fight lore accurate bosses 😂
The focus lowering effect on his helmet was making this way harder lol

With further reduced healing from the helm
I went +7 and also with the helm. It was fun.
The difference between +10 and +12 flasks is 30 HP or 20 FP. It really doesn't matter by the time you're in the DLC/Endgame since you're supposed to rely less on healing and more on experience. That's why the FP flasks are much more efficient when upgraded. 20 FP is 5 more casts of Carian Slicer, while 30 HP *maybe* allows you to just barely survive an attack.

dw you can punish him, you just need to wait until his 15th combo is over and dont do more than a single light attack or you'll die
I gave up on this fight and summoned ones of those let me solo her wannabes with the fingerprint shield and the scarlet rot dagger. Spent a whole week of all my free time 19 scadutree level, ashes, npc summons AND player summons.

Dude summoning Coop players and npcs make the fight 10x harder. Not only does het get way more tankier but his combos become far more unpredictable because he literally switches aggro mid combo. It becomes far more difficult to dodge

I hate how people say, “only fists” like they aren’t the one of the most broken weapons in the game, with crazy stagger damage, bleed, and great base damage. Still impressive but it’s not like he was doing a challenge run or anything

Fists are one of the most broken weapons in the game! People sleep on then because they never tried for themselves. Star fist is the most broken of them of course.

@@nitromoist2248actually lemme correct myself he was doing probably similar damage to what most people were doing, he used a pretty broken weapon yes but he didn’t use it to its fullest and that’s makes it not broken, it does get kind of annoying when you use a weapon that’s known for being broken but based off your build there not actually broken it’s just pretty average but some people will just see the weapon and call it broken when he’s not doing broken damage at all whatsoever

I was strength had to respec into a dex bleed build because I was going no damage. I eventually beat him with bloody estoc

A strength lightning knight claymore build does no damage in this dlc. I learnt that specially with Bayle
Get comfortable with the timing of all Radahn’s phase 1 attacks. He essentially does the same attacks in phase to minus his shadow clones and Miquella’s space laser. I finally got a good roll of him doing a lot of easy to dodge moves in his 2nd phase when I beat him. Having a level 18 shadow blessing didn’t hurt either lol
I also had level 18 shadow blessing and was running prayerful strike blacksteel hammer so managed the fight second try

@@jacksonpayne3477 prayerful strike let's you face tank quite a lot which was pretty much my strategy. I definitely didn't learn to perfectly dodge attacks but I could dodge most of them well enough that it was plenty.

I beat the base game basically relying on summons. (Only game i played before this was Bloodborne) My girlfriend challenged me to do no summons on DLC. Humbled me greatly but I prevailed brothers lmao. Radahn took all 99 of my boiled crabs and 67 of my boiled prawns but I did it.

Everyone was like How do I beat this and then they eventually did it. I died way more on Malenia back in the day. Granted that I have over thousands hours in Elden Ring after that, I still thing this boss is way harder. His mechanic is not as hard as Malenia, but all the move just blend together and you have to execute it to a much better degree than any thing else.
And then there is the Divine Beast fight....

Malenia is easy asf to stagger and stun. And extremely easy to kite around her moveset except for waterfowl sometimes

@@Sergio-th7os I did Radahn after around ten tries and Malenia after about 100. Granted, after I switched from a Heavy Infusion on my beloved Zweihänder back to the Cold Infusion I had throughout the entire game up until Malenia, I did her pretty much immediately, but I think it highlights pretty well how different playstyles struggle or excel with different bosses

He says it was the hardest souls boss… however he had to resort to cheesing first week pre patch Radahn with glinstone pebble on the back of torrent
Only way I was able to beat this guy was by using a 100% damage resist shield and just tanking all his hits while poking him with a bleed spear. It felt cheap, but I don't believe I would've been able to beat him with any other build. He never lets up, so you basically have zero punish window otherwise.

This is young, pre-prime radahn by the way. His gravitational ability here is still rather limited compared to even base game post prime radahn.
7:23 Mans doesn't even touch Moist but hits 3x. Tell me the fight is broke without telling me the fight is broke. Jesus at .25 speed you can FAINTLY see the illusions hitting him but in real time they are so transparent against the light from the attack you can't see it
People brag about beating Melania, but Radahn, people put respect on his name
It's always really interesting to me to see peoples' initial strategies when fighting bosses. I almost never ran away from Radahn and that instinct allowed me better success in phase 2 when it came to finding punish openings as well as avoiding damage. It wasn't something I really learned from the fight, that's just how I play the game. I never even thought about how painful it would be rolling away from Radahn like Charlie was doing.
Elden Ring: Golden Age a dlc where you fight all bosses in their *REAL* prime

@@themysterykid1 morgoott, mohg, Rykard is arguably the strongest he’s had been, malenia (phase 2), pretty much all the mini bosses, astel, the deer, Godfrey ( unless you think old age has made him weaker), Malekith, and whichever one I missed. ER isn’t the same dying world that the DS series is. It is damaged, but very much alive.

The real fight is Radahn vs my frame rate. His lightspeed shadow attacks kill my frame rate and I can't do anything to avoid it
Took me more attempts than Melania. I used a bleed spear build with a fast thrusts ash of war to build bleed. I did pretty bad damage outside of the bleed procs but eventually after around 100 attempts I was able to get him. Hardest boss I have ever fought in gaming history. 7/10 great boss with some very blinding attacks that can give you headaches.
Him and Bayle are the WORST to fight. It took me 2 days to kill Bayle and I’m on day 3 of Radahn… help me. 😢

Charlie is maybe the best I've ever seen at quickly learning boss moves. It's really uncanny how he can get even the hardest bosses in games move sets downloaded into his brain so fast.

Brother I beat this guy in around 30 tries with a bad weapon class for the fight, Charlie beat him with one of, if not the best weapons in the game in way more. No need to suck him off
@@michaelmcdonald2005 First off, no need to be an asshole if you disagree, you must be a liberal. Anyway, my comment was based on watching him for years, not just this one boss fight. If you go back through his content, and see how few tries it takes him to beat very hard bosses throughout the years, you'd have to admit, if you were being honest that is, that this guy is very talented in that department.
Radahn straight up turned into a super saiyan, he even leaves after images now
it's insane that on his first try in phase 2 he managed to dodge two of the after image attacks without knowning them
Phase one to phase two is the definition on one to a hundred

Lingering Will is not even the hardest in the franchise, but this for sure is way easier than that.

That's what I'm saying, these people would cry at some of the kh super bosses lol. My buddy was complaining about putrescent knight, and I told him, "go fight lingering spirit and come back to me" the vanitas one, mind you
I beat every major boss solo except Radahn and Miquella. Even with a level Scadu blessing at level 19, I could barely scratch him.
I chalked it up to using a faith build and the boss was highly resistant to holy damage, but it seems like everyone had trouble with him.
One day fromsoft will make a boss super hard without it just being arbitrarily difficult like having a frame trap move or arena that cancels I frames 🤡

The boss was hard as hell, and certain attacks were overturned, but overall a very fun and engaging fight, would do again.
What happens after defeating Radahn? We get to the credits and start a NG+? Or the journey continues?

I wasn't mad at all about this boss. My entire first playthrough I kept thinking "man, I wish I could see this guy in his prime"
“Skill issue blah blah git gud, etc” - you can say whatever you want to me, I think this is my least favorite boss in all of Fromsoft’s catalog. It just wasn’t fun in the end; I had little sense of accomplishment afterward putting him down. 😢

Anyone got any tips for the clones after the meteor attack. Seen a few methods for light rolls but not medium
You only need to dodge the last attack. The first 2 deals almost to no damage.
Bloodhound step is pretty good for dodging his attacks in general.
You run straight to the opposite direction. Then sideways then towards him.
Just needs to run sideways, no need for rolling until the last strike. Then roll again for the final follow up after he smashed the ground.
If you run backwards from the boulders and then turn left or right and jump, the holograms don’t reach you and you just dodge the last one, otherwise just tank the holograms and hope your poise is enough to dodge the last attack, hardest attack by far I think

Too hard or not, when I beat him I had such an incredible amount of satisfaction. Never had that before with any other fromsoft boss.
Charlie actually had really good rng on this run, I think the hardest attacks to dodge (other than the impossible cross slash move) are the meteor clone attack and overhead clone slam attack, and he didn’t use them at all in his run. At the same time, he somehow survived phase 2 gravity pull which is basically an instant kill, so nothing’s perfect 😅
He still had a harder time with that frog in jedi survivor

Yep. Key to beating him is a LOT of patience. He has openings but you have to dodge for a good 30 seconds sometimes before you can attack

Radahn took me extra long because my controller disconnected 6 times when i was just moments away from beating him, i ended up switching to a wireless connection and beat the game 20 minutes later, felt like a chore at that point
Radahn gave me such a hard time I had to learn how to parry. I can’t even get to the second phase without parrying him.

Because people have fun trading damage. It’s all to do with play styles and how do you have fun with.
I don't think this boss was as hard as malenia but the visuals are god awful and the fight is just a roll fest. I used the same build as charlie for this boss took me like 86 tries. Malenia took me 3 days with an op fire katana build probably like 200 attempts I had to watch 3 tutorials to learn how to dodge her attacks. I hate that starfists miss radahn because he doesn't have an hitbox between his legs explains why he is the bottom in the relationship.
