- When in Cologne, do as 90% of the beer-loving inhabitants and visitors of Cologne do and drink nothing but Kölsch! We visit one of the most renowned breweries and stop over at one of the favorite Kölsch haunts where a cross-section of society is enjoying the local brew.
Kolsch is one of the most underrated beer style. I do love a good kolsch, especially during summer season.
I love it when the waiter has a drink with us!

Kolsch are much like golden ale. Wonderful subtle styles. It's so much more than macro brews. Extremely flavorful

Fruh is my favorite can't wait to be back in koln really wana find a pub like the last one they showed and try different brands. I remember last summer my favorite thing to get was pomme doner and a tall bottle of kolsch and watch a football match.
A kolsch sounds like a ale. I'm going to look for some.

Not bad beer but will never be popular in America. Waaaay to bland almost like a Miller, Michelob, the old lowenbrau (beer styles no longer in vogue). Americans like beer is infused with lots of hops - Odel, Stone, Seria Nevada...those types of styles will dominate for now.
well you´d often drink this as a "Herrengedeck" (Gentleman´s place setting) where you drink a shot of Korn and then a Kölsch, while playing Schocken, Skat, Doppelkopf or other card/ dice games. also this is great during the summer because it is not as heavy as some other beers, but realy refreshing. this is not a beer to sit all day grumpy in the shadow on a beer bench, like bavarians - but a beer to have fun, to run around and meet and greet, play jokes on each other and don´t take life to serious. Just like the video tries to convey, the beer fits to it´s city and people.
I don't know Charles, I'm loving my Shiner Kölsch right now in Dallas,TX. It's brewed by Spoetzl Brewery in Shiner,TX and is the perfect beer for the heat this time of year. But I guess my favourite beer from them is the Black Lager.
