Well I only hope Colton wants to come to Iceland and play here but I reckon that won´t happen, but I can keep on hoping ;) Love his voice and lyrics! So happy I found this young man here on YT, he is amazing! Greetings from Iceland !

Saw him live in Bakersfield last year, such a good musician. It feels like the beginning of the return of true folk and cowboy ballads. With the loss of Don Edwards a couple years so, it’s not a moment too soon either.
Colter is an insane mix of Cash, Townes, Billy Joe Shaver, Waylon, Willie, Steve Earle and probably a few more I'm missing. He is country to be sure but it is more that Texas singer songwriter thing than the next George Jones. Dude has the chops, the voice, and especially the songs to the next great one. He takes all his influences and jells them into something all his own and it's just too cool for school. Killer lyrics.
Matthew Brutosky I'm from Alabama. I lived in the flathead valley my first year out of college. It was some of the best days of my life. It's the only place I've ever been outside of Alabama that I felt at home.
It's an old American folk song called stagger lee/staggolee...he just changed the lyrics because there are a thousand versions of this song. Its so old nobody knows who wrote it. Nice try though :D
If you just found Colter, welcome home. Being in his 20's, we've got a sweet 50 years ahead of us, which will see me out. All is well. Take hold of your favourite poison and find a moment. It's warm, and good for the soul.
Saw him in Birmingham, AL. Talked to him twice that night. He's a great guy. Just as down to earth as he can be. He's got that sound that everyone watching this video has been looking for.
Love his easy, John Hurt style pickin' and ballad phrasing as he sends his songs out around the campfire or wherever. I believe he's a folk musician with broad and deep roots.
OK so i heard this song on the radio a day or two ago so i tried to look it up but i couldnt spell Saskatchewan to save my life so i looked up large cities in Canada and still couldnt find it so i looked up small towns and no results, then the map of Canada and finally to find out that its a state or whatever they call it up there. so Colter if you see this i just want you to know im devoted to your music in a way like no other.
Hahaha hah this killed me. I'm from Saskatchewan and we get absolutely shunned from the rest of the country due to our lack of populous towns. Doesn't stop us from kicking ass and putting ourselves on the map. Colter is my absolute favorite since I have found him Years ago.

Wtf!?!? Awesome seasoned voice and picking style for such a young man, I was raised on these type of songs around the campfire, so good to hear this from the younger breed of musician !

Who needs all these “purty boys” anyhow?!?
I just recently stumbled on this dude.. Killer voice, reminds me of a mix between Waylon Jennings and Johnny Cash.. love his sound... this is what country music should be.
I didn't make it as far as Saskatchewan in my trip to Canada earlier this month, but I had this and many other of his songs on my playlist while on long bus rides from Calgary to Alberta and back.
