    What I love is how bananas age like an actual banana 😂 but I really love the bumblebee color change I love how the yellow browned on the ten year old. I have an enchi Russo male I was told his yellow and orange will not fade as he ages so that’ll be fun to see

    So glad your better and back in front of the camera. Of course the first 2 you would show are 2 of my 3 favorite morphs. Such beautiful animals as always.

    It's so hard to find adult pics of ball pythons to know what to expect how they'll turn out. I love vids like this. Banana can really vary and I had no idea how mine would end up. My banana is about to turn 2, and while he's not as neon yellow anymore, he's held his colors wonderfully. I think his recessive genes have helped him keep his colors? He's 100% het genetic stripe and ghost. I've heard around that sometimes het genetics can effect the look but don't know if it's true.

      Seriously! Though I’ll still love my animals no matter the pro / con I just wanna have some type of reference to educate myself and future customers.

    I have a 15 year old adult Lemon Pastel and she retained her yellow color really well. If you are going to get pastel I highly recommend the Lemon line.

    Glad your on the mend, great video. Black pastel banana to me is one that changes drastically, more so than most that change.

    I appreciate that after you started to make light of Covid you did pull it back. We don’t all have the same health risks and some have lost loved ones. You are so positive and I like that as a first time viewer. You could have lost me but instead I’m won over for sure and will be sharing 😊 We don’t all have to agree about everything but those are beautiful snakes and you are great at sharing information. Thanks!!!

    Best luck with covid recovery! Glad you're doing better. Great video and really really helps a lot with decision making.
    One thing I hope you will consider doing next time: axanthic! I know they're supposed to brown out too but some lines hold colour better? Or combos that keep the contrast. Would be hugely helpful.
    Thanks a lot for putting out such informative content!

      We can do that. Be careful of people who say a line is better, usually a sales pitch. The quality of the parents will definitely have an effect on the quality of the baby though

    Thanks for all the great content. I have learned a lot. Maybe you can answer this question. I bought a Pastel Banana (Mojave or Phanton). Breeder was up front about not knowing 100% and I was ok with that. I was looking forward to trying to figure it out through future breedings. I heard you mention once on a past video that banana Mojave combos tend to not show that “banana spots” as they age. She is loaded up w “spots”. Curious if you or anyone had any thoughts. Maybe I misunderstood but I haven’t been able to find any info otherwise. Thanks again for all the videos and glad you guys are feeling better.

    Isn’t COVID grand. So down to business when a Python sheds, and the eye cap is still attached. Is there a way to safely remove? Or just leave it? Thanks

      Soak, gently rub with damp cloth, one direction like petting

    How long do you leave them pairing ?
    Got a cage too large for 1 ball but want to have the male and female together near permanent... in trying to breed so not afraid of babies ..
    But I thought it would be really nice for the snakes to socialize

    • @abbyk.6410
      @abbyk.6410 2 роки тому

      Theyre not social animals. There are some species like garter snakes that can live in groups but they haven't evolved to value socializing

    • @OlympusReptiles
      @OlympusReptiles  2 роки тому +2

      I agree with Abby. You will have better luck pairing, and separating. I usually leave 3 or 4 days.

    Personally I let the babies bite. They get over that pretty quickly if they find out it doesn't work and I won't move so no teeth problems. My favorite was the baby that ate my thumb. 🤣😅😆

    • @OlympusReptiles
      @OlympusReptiles  2 роки тому +2

      I have done that, but after keeping so many venomous I also just developed a "don't get bit mentality" with everything. Don't want to have a moment of my brain being dumb and getting popped by something bad.
      I got my last blood bite because my muscle/brain memory made me treat it like a ball lol.

    • @lauraholzler1417
      @lauraholzler1417 2 роки тому

      Actually that's a really good practice.. I don't have that problem because I will never work with venomous ever. I work around too many kids. Respect though. I remember some venomous projects I worked on in college. I really miss Glades and times like these.

    Can you tell the difference between a queen bee, a killer blast, and a butter spin blast

    • @OlympusReptiles
      @OlympusReptiles  Рік тому

      Yes. Queenbee lesser spider pastel.Pastel. killer blast, no lesser, super Pastel, pin instead of spider.. Very different. Butter spinner blast is same as queenbee (lesser, butter same thing) but adds pinstripe to the spider. That will thin the lines down a lot.
