The Vanquish workshop manual doesn't mention an emergency neutral override, but it does mention this: Neutral selection - Neutral may be selected at any time by pulling both paddles simultaneously. This will select neutral but will not inhibit the automatic selection of first gear at ignition off. Neutral must be selected to allow engine cranking. Neutral should be selected whenever the vehicle is parked for extended periods and the battery conditioner should be used to maintain battery charge. If left in gear with a discharged battery, the vehicle cannot be moved. If you require to place the transmission into neutral permanently, pull both paddles twice in quick succession and switch off the ignition within three seconds. This will permanently select neutral for such purposes as towing or manually moving the vehicle in a workshop.
Aston's are hand made cars though, so it wouldn't surprise me if different assembly workers put it in different places within the car. This certainly was the case at the TVR factory.
''Neutral should be selected whenever the vehicle is parked for extended periods''. It seems that somehow Hoovie missed that bit when he read the manual , which I am sure he does with every car he owns.
Hello, here is some important information on the Vanquish gearbox system. There is no cable at all behind the rear seats to put in the car into neutral, if the car is stuck in gear the only way to move it is to disconnect the drive shaft or jack up the rear wheels. If you need to lock the car into neutral turn on ignition, push brake and pull both paddles twice, turn off ignition and remove key within 3 seconds. There will be a beep indicating the car has been locked into neutral. Vanquish has an automated shift manual gearbox, the DB9 is automatic. These two cars are very different. The oil leak is most likely one of the hydraulic lines on the ASM pack. If it is one of the lines that goes from the solenoid pack under the gearbox to the shift actuator on top the gearbox then the gearbox will have to removed from the car. If changing these lines it is very important not to move the hydraulic shift actuator itself or the two mechanical gear position sensors on the sides of the gearbox if the car has not been upgraded to the magnetic gear position sensor. If one of these parts are moved even a 10th of millimeter the octopus test will have to be done to relearn gear position. To do this you will need AMDS or Launch X431 with Aston Martin 10.56 software. I know these cars very well, I have a 2004 Vanquish myself that I do absolutely all the work on. Feel free to ask me any more questions on the Vanquish.

Nobody wants a 1.2L high strung turbo engine with oil dilution problems, fitted to a CVT that will shred its belt in 80,000 miles, controlled by an ECU connected to 65 modules. Every MFing function has to have its own module now. Good luck when module 34 takes a crap.
You guy’s, yourself, Wizard and Daniel San are right up there with Scotty Kilmer in the mechanical entertainment stakes!👍😉subscribed.
Magic Mike was probably tired of doing all the work and diagnostic and then the Wizard came and claimed that was all him
I am only 1:25 in. My first thought is Jack wheels Jack up a wheel and it goes under. 2nd thought would be using wheels that are for moving shed.
They both are cheap and would work fine.
Aston Martin...breaks down while doing nothing. Sounds about right
Good for magic mike. Heading out on your own can be a scary time. Wish him all the luck.
When a car isn't good enough for Tavarish to keep, that should be fair warning to anybody. 😉
As soon as you got to wizards I was like where is magic Mike hope he does great where ever he goes
Aww. I’m sad magic Mike is gone but I hope he’s doing well.
Happy birthday Daniel!
Best looking car in your garage
You should be able to find it under the carpet behind the driver's seat. Pull up the carpet by the back seat in the floor then, look for to bolts/screws in the floor. unscrew then lift the part and look for the parking gear.
It's not a Bentley engine in a VW. It's a VW engine in a VW. You can also get this engine in a Bentley. 😊
in the case of a 2 door model remove carpet on drivers side you shoude see a long black piece with 2 screws remove them you should see a yellow handle that's the parking break release just follow the cable on the underside of the body or the correct user manual for that car also has the parking gear release or called transmission release as well where it is on that model and year
Time to mount a winch on the Aston. Or as the Brits call it, “pull start.”
Gonna miss Magic Mike on the channel. Godspeed, Mike!
Sad to see Magic Mike depart, but I hope it was at least on amicable terms. Wishing him success where ever he goes.
I wish him luck in jail
@@dashservices bruh what?
@Dash Services, you see, really taking your time to comment on this on multiple posts
“Wow we just pulled started a vanquish!” The face was priceless !
Push it outside and let it sit out in the sun. Sunshine has magical healing powers.
i love those w12 phaeton. low key luxury and affordable if you like to wrench
If you had done the manual conversion, you wouldn’t have this problem! 😁
Good luck, Magic Mike!!!
Poor car is crying its fluids out and refusing to move because it doesn’t want to leave its nice comfy garage to be driven by a stranger ! Hoovie, you’re a monster 🤬
Superb comment
Magic Mike is gone! On no... That Blue 4 door, that's been on the left for years is never going to get fixed now. Our Wizard needs a Grand Wizard for that car.
How did you get those lids under the tires lol
This is the hoovie content I love. Issues from letting the cars sit and hoovie struggling over a resolution
Never mind, you jacked it up and dinged your door. Perfect. I’m actually surprised you own a jack
@@johnnychimpo7539 If he has dinged the door, it's probably one of those flimsy screw type thing, that came with a car.
@@marcus_w0 To be fair it's not like a proper jack would fit on the lift anyway 😂
I had a phaeton w12 and loved it. So sad I don’t have it anymore. Car had 175k miles and still ran great.
Please post a video
That Aston is my favorite Car Trek car. I would love to see more of it.
