I was very fortunate to have seen Weird Al twice in twelve months on his "Straight Outta Lynwood" tour. The first time was in my home town of Reading, Pa. The venue was mere blocks from our house, so no parking issues. lol The second time was in Baltimore and took our 12-year-old son with us. He and his band put on the best shows.
Pretty good bio of Al, but it really bugs me that his original songs are completely overlooked. 80% of Al's songs are his amazing originals. Less than half of the songs on his 14 studio albums are parodies. I've been to 3 of his original only tours and was completely blown away. Al is an incredible song writer and he writes songs for movies, tv and commercials. His band, whose been with him since the beginning, are grammy winners in their own right, and Al has 5, not 4 Grammys.
You NAILED it, my friend! My two favorite "Weird Al" songs are the theme to his movie, "UHF," and "Dare To Be Stupid," his "style parody" in tribute to Devo. Al's attention to detail in his style parodies is absolutely MIND-BLOWING!

Al's parents didn't start him with an accordion because they actually thought he would revolutionize rock and roll (this is a joke that Al sometimes tells), but rather because of their sharing a last name with Frankie Yankovic, America's polka king.

This popped up on my UA-cam an as someone who has always felt a lil weird and has even been told I look like weird Al cause of my hair lol this made me all emotional. Loved it. You’re so cool and love your life perspective. Hell ya weird Al killin it
My top 3 Al songs "Dare to Be Stupid" One Minute" and "Nature Trail to Hell" all Originals in a top 5 there would be parodies but most of his best were original
I'm from Cleveland. Every time we go to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, we all put Al in the kiosk for potential future inductees. Please send them messages to let them know that Al deserves to be immortalized in music history!
Every time when me and my brother took a tour of the rock n roll hall of fame.... he would always nominate ozzy osbourne solo.. and now hes in. I do that with the black metal bands... I nominate mayhem
For a long time I knew that he definitely deserves a star on that Hollywood Walk of fame thing. It took a while, but it's so satisfying that he got it ^^ All of his songs have been so interesting and cleverly cool. and although the movie was only based on the true story (full of lies) it still shows a story of his rise to fame ^^ Not great fame, but certainly among some nerds like me ^^ and I think he saved my life through my tough 20's To the king of comedy music, I bow. Also, I like how he still seems to be going okay these days, at 64 years old ^^
I love AL! One of the most talented entertainers ever. I never get tired of him. Much love from one wierdo to another ❤❤. I also grew up on Dr. Demento and Monty Python 😂
Al looks like he's aged well but he's starting to look his age a bit and that kinda makes me sad. We all go and all at some point but dang Al sure is an original, and at need more of the likes of him.
Wellll, ya know, he IS 64 now… indeed, we all gotta go sometime. Al has given us such great music and laughs over the years! I’m grateful for them! 😆😍🤩🙏
How to make an un-authorized biography by copying and pasting clips from everyone else and link them together with a flaky narration by a creepy middle aged librarian. The result is this lame steaming pile video!
WTH this? 😂 On one hand, names are pronounced wrong, the phraseology is all awkward (like bad stereo instructions), the complete lack of understanding of music, media, and art (made obvious by using incorrect terms throughout ["his seventh album studio"; "musician Bill Mumy" are just two of MANY examples]) is almost laughable, and most of the facts are nothing we've not heard before...but, ON THE OTHER HAND, there's a ton of amazing footage that is new to this HUGE Weird Al fan right here. WHAT IS GOING ON?! A fun watch...but so bizarre.
Thank you, Al. You have really impacted my life for the better.

I always liked his movie UHF TV, I wish he would have gotten the opportunity to make more films.

I always thought he was related to Frankie Yankovic of the old Lawrence Welk show. No?

Excellent documentary of a comedic legend.

I saw UHF in the theater the day it was released and the day after. Absolute masterpiece!
Sounds like the ai mixed in Weird The Al Yankovic Story jokes as fact
Of them all, he is the only Original, Great, Wierd Al. No one can fill his shoes

Lovely.Go Wierd Al😊!
3:48 But I love Rocky Road!
Can we talk about how Dr. Demento, the guy who discovered Weird Al, sounds like Lin Manuel Miranda, a huge Weird Al fan.
35:37 "World Crimes"??? Well done, AI.
I would've loved to have heard his Prince parody of everything for sale cost $19.99 😢

If it was, you could call it "Weird AI".
12 seconds for UHF
Dog Fayger?
UA-cam is kind of the reason Roku exists. Yes, i will phone to roku this video.
"Word Crimes" not "World Crimes". Terrible AI voice.

Terrible narrator. Nasalally female robot voice. Teriible. Dislike!
She’s actually credited: Sharon Feingold, voiceover. So she’s a real person.
