As this is one of my all time favorites I have to chime in The Dreamer, I wore it when it was original formula and available at Neiman Marcus Macy's ect, if you look on parfumo at the original The Dreamer aftershave the notes are identical to the reformulated version offered to us today, when I discovered this I just found and purchased 3 sealed original vintages and let me tell you the difference is undeniably better, I still use the newer release because of availability and price but this was such an incredible fragrance, ultra unique for it's time and still is to me regardless of the hate it receives, reformulations suck and it gets me pretty salty how fragrance's are treated like yesterday's computers, great review 🙏
Thank you so much my brother I've never been able to smell the original formula or anything like that so I can only review this one as a standalone and I still really enjoy it
This is one of my work signature fragrances. I think Dylan Blue fits more of the barbershop/old fashion profile than The Dreamer personally. I think the tobacco notes against the iris is what has kept this cologne alive all these decades.
I have to admit, my first impressions from a tester were not good. I had to give it another shot then it grew on me. The White floral/tobacco note is very unique and definitely stands out in my collection. Nothing really out there that smells similar, its a classic.
Ooohhh one of my favourite fragrance of all time...even though i like dark, intoxicating and opulent fragrances I am in love with Versace The Dreamer, perhaps because, sometimes, me too I need something so pure and cristalline, so ethereal, it has really something oneiric and metaphysical, so moving! In this fragrance I feel above all white florals: iris, lily, flax....it's like clean cotton protected by a glass. It so so gorgeous and unique, and nowadays in my country it is no so common so it is an alternative and original choice 😅.
Yes on my list for new Year! I've heard good things about! Your review pushed me over the edge to buy! Lol,sounds like a Master piece frangrance of it's time? GOD Bless, merry Christmas.
I've got two 5ml splash bottles with the original formulation that are treasured. That said I also really like the current formulation and have a bottle at home and a bottle at work, because sometimes i just need a hit of it and i need it now. On me the other notes fall away and its a very white tobacco and amber fragrance that is almost musky. I know some people say it doesn't project well or last, and yes i agree it is mostly a skin scent, but I can still just about smell it when i wake up in the morning.
@@fragrancefan It's not quite as fresh, sits much more into tobacco and lavender, just overall a bit more complex with some more of the familiar heady floral notes of the 80s and 90s, but still manages to be as unlike anything else as the modern formulation manages to
Bought the dreamer a few years ago. 100 ml for 20 euro. Its a very nice fragence. Its old school. But i luke old school fragence. Like Cartier Pasha edt. And Lalique equus pour Homme. All old school. But alk are very nice. Greetings from Amsterdam the Netherlands
Unique scent that is very classy. Incredible for the price.
Believe it or not I got my 50 ml for $10 even at the 25 that it's usually sold at is still a great price

Yes I fail to mention how unique this actually smells and that is actually pretty signature scent Worthy
It's dirt cheap for a designer frag, I purchased a tester for $20.

My favorite from Versace.
Beautiful fragrance. Probably the 4th or 5th fragrance I ever had.
That's awesome

So how is it compared to the original formulation?

Greetings my friend. And I certainly appreciate a nice classic piece polo green I think it's beautiful
Great review. Off topic have you tried lattafa khamrah?
It's sweet, spicy, boozy beautiful
@@fragrancefan would you say it smells similar to Contra for you mixed with one million?
I know it's a classic but I just can't wear because too synthetic, too harsh with heavy dose of flowers.
It's synthetic alright and this is gonna be hit or miss for most people lol
how long does it last, also how are the projection and performance?
This one lasted a good 6 hours it's not necessarily a safe fragrance because it's really synthetic, but to me a present synthetic
Spicy and bold
it is
My most disappointing Versace purchase, infact one of my most disappointing purchase ever
Its surely not for everyone with the powdery synthetic
Couldn't agree more... Just bought it from yt recommendations.. its MID at best
