Tom McClean Ann just dropped me of home there,we were out for her birthday today,we got stopped by the police on the sandown road, the armed response guys were all out with their guns, the police man told us that a big stag has escaped along the comber Greenaway,so they think it's on the sandown road section.police helicopter out with spotlight on too.they are armed pointing up the path, waiting to shoot the dear.hope they just tranquilize it instead.

I hope it gets away Andy. My brother in law saw a stag last year early in the morning ... I can't remember where but it was SE Belfast. he is
an early morning lorry driver. He leaves the house at 4 am

It was in the News Letter Andy. I'm afraid the stag was shot.
'Police have shot and killed a stag that was found running wild along a road in east Belfast.
Officers were called after the animal was spotted running along on the Gilnahirk Road in the early hours of this morning, narrowly missing a number of motorists.
Police tried to contain the animal, however this was not possible.
Inspector Eastwood said: “As the stag was in an extremely agitated and dangerous state, running wild in a densely populated area and
posed a danger to motorists police shot the animal dead.”
